Snowy day in Denver. Someone in the office mentions BBQ and a few seconds later Bite Squad sends me a coupon for free delivery from Ragin Hog. It was fate. While I had leftovers from the day before and even brought an additional lunch, it’s probably been at least a year since I’ve sank my teeth into tender, smokey ribs. I’m sure most would agree it’s hard to find good BBQ in Denver especially ribs, but after reading the Unilocal reviews and feeling a bit sponteous, I decided a salad wasn’t going to suffice. They do deliver, but only in their hood. Thank God for Bite Squad and their free delivery coupon! While delivery time was estimated to be two hours it showed up in 1 hour. Pretty amazing! The ribs were perfect. Smokey, tender and juicy. The only cons were the sides. I believe I’m an expert at mac n cheese so I might be a tough critic. I liked that they added red pepper, gave it a little punch, but the cheese sauce was watery. It may have also been due to condensation from the warms ribs. The potato salad was very tasty but had very few potatoes. I have a feeling maybe I got the bottom of the bowl. So I would give the ribs 5 starts and sides 3 ½. All things considered lunch today exceeded my expectations and I got to stay inside, warm and cozy!

Great barbecue great service. Noticed the sign on the door about how they only make fresh batches every day, and that if they close early it may b because they ran out Hmm fresh is nice I sat down Had a pepsi some brisket and pulled pork with the Mac and cheese and baked beans all for 17 bucks not too bad It was all but dry they have a bunch of great sauces for any palate which made for a delicious barbecue lunch in Denver

I’m no expert in BBQ but I genuinely believe that this place was actually pretty awesome from the start. The service was quick and the people were really nice and didn’t seem to mind that I made it obvious I was a first-timer. I stocked up on all their sauces to give them all a shot and some of them were quite exciting. Again, not an expert so I really don’t know the difference between city styles. Now the reason I love this place so much. The sandwich was pretty good and it went really well with the sauces I liked. The potato salad was AWESOME. Mac n cheese was good. But what is buttermilk pie and why is it so good? That was a very pleasant surprise. My colleague loved the coleslaw, said it was the best she ever had and she also enjoyed the buttermilk pie immensely. I think the combo was definitely worth it and something I’d definitely recommend.

We did carry out so I can’t comment on the place itself but I’m really happy with our experience! I really appreciated that they didn’t package up our meat until my husband arrived so it wouldn’t be cold and tough and they also threw in an extra rib since they knew we were sharing which was so nice of them. We had the 3 meat combo with chicken, pulled pork and ribs with mac & cheese, baked beans, coleslaw and a slice of buttermilk pie. I love how they are ok with substituting the drink for another side because really, who wants to waste room with drinks when you are eating BBQ hehe. I like the assortment of bbq sauces too. I’m excited to eat there in person as I am sure that’s going to be even better!

I am so ridiculously full argh… OUTSTANDINGBBQ. I got the burnt ends, collard greens and potato salad. I always went to Big Country on 40th and Tejon, but Ragin’ Hog gives much much larger portions of meat. My new place and it’s close. You will not be disappointed :)

I visit Boulder Colorado every other month, and whenever I’m here we always make sure to make a trek down to eat. Well worth the drive! First, the BBQ pulled pork is tremendous, moist, and full of flavor. The burnt ends and the succulent middle makes the flavor of the pork great. Having been in the South, this is real bbq. The side items — especially the buttermilk pie — are especially standout. Second, the location itself is pretty true to great bbq locations in the south. Travel through the south and Ragin Hog would fit right in. Last, the owners are terrific. The fact that the food is high quality and affordable makes this a great destination for anyone in the Denver/metro area looking for authentic southern bbq.

Ragin’ Hoq BBQ is without a doubt a dive. We almost went to the eatery right across the street just because it looked so much nicer from the outside; however, that would have been a huge mistake. Upon walking in we were greeted by the most heavenly smokey aroma one could imagine. The smell brings a smile to your face, life to your taste buds, and the satisfaction of knowing you are about to experience some true smoked BBQ. Upon ordering, I went with a two meat plate choosing their chopped pork and their special of the day, burnt ends. The combo also came with the choice of two sides, a dessert and a drink all for $ 16.00. It was an incredible deal. For my sides I went with mac-n-cheese and corn bread. For my dessert I chose their buttermilk pie. The food in just about every way met or exceeded the high expectations that came along with the smell we had experienced walking in. The chopped pork was cooked to perfection, juicily and down right tasty. They offer 5 different home made BBQ sauces and their Carolina sauce complemented the chopped pork like a horse complements a cowboy. It was a pairing made in heaven. The burnt ends where very, very good; however, I did feel they were over shadowed by the chopped pork. Furthermore, I was able to give their baked beans a try in additional to the two sides I had chosen and they were sweat and cooked to perfection. As was the mac-n-cheese. The cornbread was a little dry for my liking, but that didn’t matter … the rest of the food was so good I barely even noticed the cornbread was even there. For me the baked bean and mac-n-cheese as the two sides I will choose if I ever get the honor of eating at Ragin’ Hog BBQ again. I ended my meal with their buttermilk pie. I have never heard of buttermilk pie so I wanted to give it a try. Man, what a way to end a meal. It was absolutely delicious! The BBQ at Ragin’ Hog was some of the best I have had. The service and southern hospitality was amazing. The price point and value took them to a whole other level. It is probably goes without saying, but they are a five star eaatery hands down!

Unilocal’s reviews got me to this place. You positive reviewers were right. Great food. More than fair portions for price. Ma and pa working hard to build a successful business. Simple menu. Side dishes also tastie. I’d go back.

Finally made it in and for the North Side this place is awesome. Way better than the more overpriced BBQ on Tennyson. And more authentic home style than Moe’s or Brother’s. Had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw & mac ‘n cheese with buttermilk pie. My dad had the ribs, coleslaw & baked beans. Coleslaw was great very cold and crunchy. First off, they have about 5 homemade sauces to choose from, HOT, Georgia, Memphis, Sweet and Carolina. I got some of each as my order was to go. They are all really good, my favorite was HOT. Both the pulled pork and ribs were moist and flavorful, the sides were pretty good my only complaint is that the portion was a small. I LOVELOVELOVE the small business atmosphere and family run vibe. They have Square so they take credit cards and cash. Give them a try, especially for lunch. Mmmm that buttermilk pie is so yummy and is included with the sandwich meal, how can you go wrong.

During a short trip to the Denver aerea, I was disappointed to have spent one of my six meal opportunities on this place. First off, the atmosphere: it’s a craphole. Pretty depressing even by hole-in-the-wall standards. I got a two-meat meal with brisket and«hot» links, BBQ beans, potato salad, and buttermilk pie. At ~$ 17 this was quite spendy, so I expected everything to be awesome. * Brisket: Bland and dry. Even Dickey’s is better. * Hot links: No hint of heat whatsoever. Again, worse than Dickey’s. * BBQ beans: Pretty good. * Potato salad: Probably the best potato salad I’ve ever had. Yay! * Buttermilk pie: AWESOME. If I hadn’t ended the meal on the high note of the buttermilk pie, I would’ve felt totally ripped off. Nonetheless, it’s quite sad that the only two items that stood out were a side and a dessert, rather than the meat.

Stopped in after a day of looking for housing. All my life has been spent under the influence of Texas BBQ, and the last 16 years I’ve lived in Austin, which now boasts some of the best BBQ in the world. Ragin’ Hog was right up there. They didn’t have brisket(they mentioned having it on Saturdays, so I’ll be back to try some) but the pork ribs and pulled pork are some of the very best I’ve ever had. Anywhere. I’m not a sauce user, so I can’t tell you how their sauces compare, but the three I tried were very good. I got cole slaw for a side, and it reminds me of my grandmother’s. Could use a tiny bit of black pepper, but that’s just me. You can tell they slow smoke their meat. They do it the hard way, and it shows. The sausage was good. I’m used to the coarse grind that central Texas sausages have, and the links here are a fine grind, but perfectly spiced. They pack a great punch. All in all, I’ll be back very often. It’s really wonderful to have found good BBQ. Not good BBQ. Great BBQ. Really, you should try them today.

I have never written a review on Unilocal but I had to share how much I love this place. My husband and I have now officially had everything on the menu and I can say, without a doubt, that this is some of the best food I have ever eaten. To top it off, the owner is a sweet, hardworking woman who seems like the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back. Just all around a great little hole in the wall that you NEED to try. You won’t be disappointed!

Warning: CASHONLY! Ragin’ Hog is a mom and pop hole in the wall restaurant with good potential. The location is not in the most attractive of locations and the inside is quite simple with four tables accommodating 4 people each. I ordered the hog pile(chicken + 2 sides) and overall it was good. The food is not presented in any fancy way. The chicken was tender served as small chunks, however, I was expecting more of a smoked smell or flavor. Fortunately, the selection of BBQ sauces helped add flavor. The Memphis sauce is by far my favorite in combo with the sweet sauce. They have other sauces, which will have to wait another day. The two sides chosen were Mac & cheese and the slaw! I am a huge fan of both sides and normally I always forgo slaw thinking it’s a waste of money, but not the slaw at Ragin Hog — I wish I knew the precise ingredients. The next time I come in I’ll have to try the ribs and pork. I personally would forgo the chicken next time, but if you’re on a health binge then chicken is your healthier meat option available.

This is a top notch BBQ joint! The ambiance is nothing fancy, but it’s clean and welcoming. The owners are extremely accommodating and pleasant when serving you. It’s a small spot with a few large group type tables, but not a ton of seating if there’s a lunch rush. Everything is made in-house and they have 5 different types of BBQ sauces: Carolina, Georgia, Memphis, sweet and hot and all are sooooo good! We’ve had the brisket, smoked chicken and hot links and just about all the sides. The cole slaw is really great. Like any great southern spot, they have homemade sweet tea.

When Doug Y. recommends a bbq restaurant, I’m on my way. It was excellent. It’s not a fancy place; it’s a Mom and Pop in the best sense of the expression. The«Mom» is listed on their business card as the pitmaster. When I asked, she told me that she is from Arkansas and is doing Memphis-style barbeque. They pride themselves on not reheating anything — everything is fresh out of the smoker, and it shows in the quality. The ribs were tender and flavorful, not steamtable-ish. They also pride themselves on sides made from scratch. I loved the slaw and baked beans. My husband liked the mac & cheese. The prices are reasonable. They only take cash in an effort to keep prices as low as possible. For instance, a half rack of ribs, 2 small sides, a drink, dessert and tax is $ 15. They have a wide variety of homemade sauces. She(I think her name is Colleen) recommended a combination of the Memphis and the sweet on the ribs. I thought it was great. My husband tried the pulled pork and hot links, and he thought those were also excellent. There should be a line waiting to get into this place!

hard to find but worth the drive! The décor is nothing special just a person’s first attempt at a business on a budget. the location is very clean and organized. 04JUL2015 + credit cards accepted 11OCT2014 A-OK + The ribs are top of the line. Cooked perfectly. Moist and tender. Bursting with flavor. A pig that gave its all. Highly recommended. You need to go early as they often sell out. And, when they do, they close for the day. — No Wi-Fi. — Cash only! — No beer. — No website. — Atmosphere is stark and uninviting. Customers obviously love the food(see the myriad 5 star reviews), but the owners need to deal with with their success and step up their game.
