Been going here for years. Today ordered a ½ chicken. I got a leg and a piece of skin. The lady says that’s all i get. I’ve ordered this for yrs and never got this. She said take it or leave it. I left it and will never go again. The store looked very dirty as well. Must be the workers because surely the owners would not tolerate this. They lost a loyal customer.

This little place is very authentic Mexican which is very hard to find these days. Literally, upon arrival, you hear Spanish speaking people and their families chatting. The interior of this restaurant is by no means elaborate and kind of has a fast food joint type of vibe– but who cares if the food is fantastic. I ordered the chicken quesadillas and thought they were fantastic– thick, melty cheese, and juicy chicken. Hands down, the best quesadilla I ever had. My guest ordered the flautas and said they were quite good. Only downside to this restaurant is it is quite pricy, but the portions and taste are well worth it!

Great chicken meal. It’s my sons favorite restaurant of all time. I swear they always find the hottest jalapeños to roast there. Yikes!

It is what it is. Rico Pollo has big, tasty plates that will fill you up. This isn’t a hidden treasure for foodies or a vaunted stop on gringo taco tours. It’s good Mexican fast food catering to families and the neighborhood. If you can’t handle that, there are tons of other places to be.

Dam Good Chicken, tad bit price for Mexican food, but full chicken and sides for $ 20 that will feed three humans easily is not that bad. And did I say Damn Good Chicken

I actually love this place. The food is great. The reason I’m giving 2 stars is the fact I ordered and payed for ½ chicken meal and received a ¼ chicken meal. I didn’t realize until I got home or I would have complained. I guess because I’m white i don’t know the difference between ½ and ¼ pollo meals. Bummer because I love this place.

Mmmmm… Rico Pollo is right by my mom’s house, so every time I pay her a visit I am tempted by their chicken, roasted jalapenos, and refried beans. When you first walk in, your senses are shocked into a Mexican food-induced state of awe; 1. You see-Bright orange… everywhere. 2. You hear-Spanish speaking locals with their families enjoying time together while eating delicious food. 3. You smell-RICO POLLO! There is a reason behind the name. 4. You feel-That you are exactly where you need to be at that moment. I usually order the pollo entero to go. It comes with more than enough food for a family of four(or for one if you want delicious leftovers for the rest of the week). It comes with an entire chicken’s worth of perfectly portioned pieces of succulent chicken spiced perfectly. You also get a large container of rice and a large container of beans. Add the roasted jalapenos, caramelized green onions, salsas, and tortillas and you’ve got yourself quite the meal. Mmmmm…

We stopped here last night on a quest for some good Mexican food while in North Denver on Federal. Without having the advantage of doing any scouting via Unilocal for a potential place to stop we went with the other old standby, where are the most cars parked. Based on that measure the choice was Rico Pollo. As soon as we walked in we could tell we were in for a treat as the smells were very delectable and looking at the menu board we could see that a «meal» was going to be served with plenty of good fixin’s to top off the pollo. Like another poster I too noticed the prevalence of Spanish being spoken which harkened me back to the year I spent in Peru and my favorite pollo grill in Cajamarca. This place has it beat hands down and Peruvian food is generally pretty good. Bottom line. If you are not in a big hurry this is a good place to grab a chicken dinner on North Federal. The night I was there you could also do your Redbox video purchase out of the back of somebodies minivan in the parking lot. Enjoy!

Mmmmm… Mexican Chicken — at least that’s what we call it! As others have pointed out, little English is spoken here, but even those who speak no Spanish at all would be OK. The whole chicken meal(pollo entrado) is a killer bargain — a whole cut up chicken, grilled green onions & jalapenos(not seeded and HOT!), refried beans, rice, salsas, pickled onions & corn tortillas make for more than one meal for two adults for less than $ 20. A couple of things to note — *This is not fast food. Be prepared to wait no matter how busy they are(and they are usually VERY busy). *It is helpful to know your numbers in Spanish, as that is how they call out the orders. No worries if you don’t though — if no one steps up they usually will just look for the white folks and point if it’s your order, so be in eyesight of the person at the counter. *This is a CASHONLY business!

at one time I would give this greasy little pit 5 stars but after a encounter of reverse racism the other night it maybe awhile before I can go back to this place if ever at all… I called to place a pick up order for 50 wings the lady that answers the phone answered in Spanish, not a big deal to me but when I said what she said it in Spanish again… so instead of replying with my typical«my habla es panol es muy pacito» I just said«sorry no habla es panol» so shes says ok and asks for my order, shes asks me to hold while she talks to the cooks she did a horrible job in covering the phone I here say something about«waito» then the cook pretty much say«oh hell no»… she comes back and says that they are out of hot wings… wtf?! had my friend call back 5 mins later and I guess they must have got a truck in. spite all this there food is really good, you won’t find a ton of flavors just hot

Man this place is good! Situated on North Federal amongst many other quick-Mexican food joints, this one stands out. Have you ever had el pollo loco? If you have, this place is somewhat similar… but much better! It reminds me of the places I would find on my trips to Guadalajara. Very authentic, very fresh, very good! Upon walking in, you feel as tho you are entering any standard quick-Meixcan joint that Denver overflows with. But, then you smell the chicken! Behind the counter is a flame grill with many, many pieces of succulent chicken, covered in excellent spices. You will choose your order from about 5 combos… all chicken, except for the flautas that adorn the menu. You can choose from a couple of pieces, all the way up to a full bird. All dressed in those wonderful spices! The orders come with plenty of tortillas, some cebollas, roasted peppers, and some salsas. They also include rice and beans. Plus, it is cheap! My goodness it is cheap… a meal for two shouldn’t run you more than $ 10. The dining room is much like a Wendy’s, so take it home if you want ambiance. I am getting hungry just writing about this!
