Finding a new salon/​stylist literally gives me anxiety. with that being said — I’m so very thankful to have found Alyx! She is incredibly sweet and equally talented. I appreciate that she truly listens to what you want. and makes it happen :) You can tell that she is a perfectionist (which I love in a stylist) I adore my new cut and color and will be returning to Alyx! I recommend you see her too!

Alyx is amazing!!! I’ve had a really hard time finding a stylist since moving from California a year ago but am so glad I found Alyx. She went above and beyond and I don’t know if I’ve ever loved my hair so much!

Mel is a true gem and Russ Salon is so lucky to have such a talented stylist and beautiful person on their team. I’ve had the incredible luck of being spoiled by her when she was at Speak Salon in Kansas City. If I could afford to fly to Denver every month to have my fussy short hair cut by her, I would do so in a heartbeat! I miss her like crazy, but happy she’s able to share her spunkiness and hair artistry with others in such a cool town. Don’t hesitate to book with her… she’s truly the best!

Tessa McKillop has been my stylist for several years and she’s amazing, I recommend her to everyone. Most recently, she put a Keratin Smoothing Treatment on my hair, which is long and thick. I usually have to put time and muscle into getting the smooth, straight look I prefer, but the Keratin treatment transformed my hair — it’s amazing. My styling time has been cut in half and it even looks good if I let it air dry. Tessa is great at staying on top of the latest techniques and products and she’s good with color, which can be hard to find in a stylist.

If you’re in Denver and need a stylist, book an appointment with Alyx. You won’t be disappointed! Alyx is incredible with hair and will do exactly what you ask for or recommend something fabulous that works for you. She’s also really nice and personable… double bonus:)

Highly recommend booking with Alyx! She’s certainly a jack of many trades when it comes to hair. Tell her what you are going for and she will communicate with you through each step to ensure you love what you’re seeing. Aside from always being on point with recent trends and style, she’s beyond excellent with color! I loved the tips she threw in to show me how to work with the natural flow of my hair and easy little tricks to maintain color and overall hair health. She is my go-​to stylist in Denver!

Finding a good salon is tough. I think hair work is like any art — quite a few people believe they can be masters but few really are.
Today I had the very good fortune of being squeezed into Anita’s schedule. Not only was she very understanding about a missed prior appointment (tech glitches and power outages) but she was incredibly easy to be around and I felt instantly as though I’d be in good hands. And I was. She put life back into my hair with a simple trim and a razor. Amazing.
Another note — if you schedule on Thursdays, she and Russ are the only ones in the salon in the PM and you can enjoy music stations that conjure up memories of pegged pants, acid washed jeans, and feathered hair. Bonus for sure!

Thank you fellow Unilocalers! I found this place because of you all. Anita is terrific! She listens to what you want, offers excellent consultation for not only cut and color, but hair health and care. She did a wonderful job all while being kind and personable. The salon is a bit small, but definitely comfortable and cute. I wasn’t too sure if parking might be an issue since it’s right on Colfax, but thankfully it was super easy and convenient. I loved that their philosophy was based on great color and cuts in a cool environment — without being stuffy or pretentious. Great people, service, and vibe.

Wendy is absolutely AMAZING and my hair savior! I don’t know what I would have done without her. Short story: Had a really bad hair cut that was very uneven and she was not only able to fix it but exceed my expectations. I haven’t stopped going to her since and I will follow her anywhere. Russ salon is great! Everyone there is very friendly and I love the location! I was able to find free street parking fairly easily.

I moved to Denver 3 years ago and was really worried about finding a new stylist and salon. I may still be going back «home» for doctor’s appointments, but Anita and Russ Salon are the absolute best! If you want a stylist who is an absolute expert with cut and color, look no further than Anita. She spends time with you, ensuring you will get exactly what you want. She also shows me how to style after I walk out of the salon (blowdrying and brush styling session!), and always offers free bang trims. The salon, although always inviting and hip, recently got a new look and it is absolutely beautiful.

Wendy was recommended to me by a friend. I have never been able to find a stylist I like who listens to what I ask and doesn’t make sitting in his/​her chair extremely awkward for me. Wendy did an up do for my wedding. She was honest about what she could and could not do, gave suggestions and made sure I was happy before I left. She told me funny stories to calm my nerves and gave me advice as she had just recently been married herself. My friend was right! I am going in for a cut and color and can’t wait to see what we come up with.

I had my first haircut with Wendy this morning, and I could not be more pleased about my experience, and my haircut. My appointment was originally scheduled for a different day, but Wendy promptly reached out to me and made sure I was able to get in with her. I just thought that was amazing that Wendy took the initiative to make sure her clients were taken care of. The salon itself is lovely. Bright, airy, and welcoming. In regard to my haircut, I felt that Wendy took the time to listen to what I wanted, and even though I was a bit vague, she was able to give me the exact haircut I was hoping for. I am looking forward to my next visit!

I have to say that Wendy Weber’s expertise as a hair stylist is above any that I have had in my 15+ years of getting my hair colored and styled. She is always on top of the latest trends, gives great suggestions and guidance, and performs haircuts and colors with precision! Russ Salon is a great fit for her. Modern, classy, unpretentious, and fun. I highly recommend using Wendy, and telling your friends and family too!

After years of managing my own cuts and colors, Shannon Tompkins at Russ Salon had her work cut out for her. In her quiet, unassuming way, she transformed my idea of personal beauty, leaving me a little more confident and radiant after each appointment. Shannon also spends time showing me how to work with my hair to give it the post-​appointment look even in the middle of the month and does free bang trims! I’ve read wonderful things about all the stylist at Russ Salon, but can personally recommend Shannon for her level of expertise and artistry!

I’ve had a difficult time finding a salon in Denver that I’ve wanted to go back to, but I won’t be looking any further. Russ salon is wonderful!
Wendy is exceptional! She got my shade of blonde right on the first visit and the cut looks fantastic too. Another reason I’ll be sure to return is the cut and highlights looked great from the start and grew out well too.
The salon got a makeover recently and the final products is really beautiful! Very clean, modern, and elegant. It’s like a hip little oasis on colefax.

Anita LaChance has been my stylist forever. I now live in New York and I come back to Denver… to get my hair done! That says a lot. She’s extremely talented cutter and an expert colorist, especially with reds, which tend to fade quickly and go brassy — not with Anita! I will follow her anywhere!

I absolutely love Russ Salon! I wish I was a local, so this could be my go-​to Spot. I can’t rave enough about it. I was in town for my brother’s wedding, and had a hard time finding a trustworthy place to get my hair done. I needed an up do for me and my mom. I called Russ, and they were able to squeeze us both in first thing during a busy holiday weekend. Anita did my Mom’s hair, and she looked fantastic. Tessa did mine, and I absolutely loved it! I got endless compliments on my hair. I showed her one picture, and she totally had it! I would highly recommend Tessa and Anita for your next cut, color, or up-​do. They are both soo talented, and constantly learning new tricks and techniques. And I really liked the products they use. Thank you soo much Russ Salon for making our special day, even that much more wonderful!
