I make people beautiful for a living– I’ve been at it 33 years. I moved back to Denver from NYC8 ½ years ago and was pleased to find this Sally’s about a mile from my house. The only problem is that I like to shop where the employees are happy and from the very beginning the poor sweet employees at this Sally’s seemed stressed and bummed out. They got increasingly bummed out a few years ago when the new manager was transferred from another location. I pride myself on having happy upbeat relationships with anyone I do business with so in spite of the manager being short with me several times I continued to be upbeat and nice to her. The last straw at this store was on a special customer day this month that I had told my clients about and had on my calendar. It happened to be the day of the big blizzard. I made it to the store with my coupon and my discount card and spent about an hour finding interesting new items I wanted to try out. As I went to check out with her she refused to give me the 30% off saying that there was some other coupon I should have cut out. When I looked disappointed she said roughly, ‘Well, you can drive home and get it!’ mocking me because the blizzard was so bad even the Dollar Tree next door had closed due to the weather. Not once did she act sorry about ‘my confusion’ she might have called it if she was trying to be nice. She was blunt and seemed actually happy to make me leave my products and not do the sale. Turns out, today when I went to a different Sally’s I told them what happened and they said she was absolutely wrong. That she must not have read the emails that were sent out to say that the customers didn’t need to have the extra coupon. The other store also confirmed that the manager of this horrible Sally’s had been lying to all the customers for years. She always said that Sally’s corporate policy was that we could either get the deal that s advertised OR use a percent off coupon but we couldn’t use both. I knew that rule by heart. NOPE! The manager at this stupid store only *told* us that because she likes to say NO as much as she can! One more thing about this store is that they don’t put out the products that are advertised for sale– on purpose! I went in to buy a sale item and since there wasn’t any on the shelf a sweet employee went in the back and found a box of the items. She walked out holding 2 of them for me and another employee yelled, «NO! Bea said not to sell any of those because the store will make more money if we hold them back until the sale is over! It’s total madness there. ln an emergency I will go, but only in an emergency. Update: I decided, for the sake of the minimum wage employees misery, that I would bring these issues, and others that I had heard from many employees at this store, to the supervisor of the district manager, since the district manager seemed complicit– i.e. never calling me back or following up. Yup! months later I called the head guy of the region again and he said that they did a thorough investigation and they found, most proudly(!!) that there is absolutely no problem at this store, whatsoever!! l LOL

The Sally’s around the Denver metro can be rather hit-or-miss with regard customer care, shelves being stocked, and cleanliness. This one is a big fat miss. The old Latina who was running the place on Saturday(2÷07÷2015) should just hang a banner across the front declaring, «Whites Not Welcome». I asked her for help and she recoiled like I was a leper and wouldn’t come any closer than about 15 feet to me.(I bathe daily, so I don’t think I smelled.) Then, because the young girlie made a $ 5 error on my ring-up, I had to be mocked and ridiculed by the same old woman in charge that day. Sally’s is not the only place I can go to get my supplies… and, it will be a long time before I go to this location to spend my disposable dollars again.(And, I still got stiffed for five bucks.)

I’m so glad to have a Sally’s near the house… they’ve got a great selection of products at extremely reasonable prices. My pedicurist recommended that I stop by to get a specific kind of pumice stone, and they had it(for under three bucks). For $ 5 a year, you’re a «member» and get all the discounted prices. Oh, when you sign up you also get a $ 5 coupon for your next visit. You do need to give an email address, but who doesn’t have a «dummy/junk» email address at this point? The selection was better than I’d expected — hair products, lotions, makeup, etc. This is the place for those of you who don’t want to use Suave, but don’t want to spend $ 60 a bottle for that Aveda crap either. Staff was friendly, and I was in and out of the place quickly. No complaints. I will be back!

Having never been in a beauty supply store before, I have no basis for comparison. But after a haircut, I drove here in search of the stylist’s monster comb that she used to untangle my wild mane. And I bought a diffuser, too, in case the day should come when I feel like spending more than 30 seconds drying my hair… who knows, maybe a Unilocal event will inspire me! Both items were in stock, the staff were helpful and efficient.

I like this place a lot. I use to get my hair product from the Barbershop but can get almost, well a pretty good knock off here. Went this morning just after 9AM, 9:20AM lets say, according to their website they open at 9AM and the door was locked. All of the lights were off and no one appeared to be in the store. Upset, I left the store and came back home to look for the number and call the store. Not even 5 minutes leaving and at home a women picked up the phone. I asked there hours, well knowing that they were suppose to be open already and she said 9AM to 9PM. I told her I was just there less than 5 minutes ago and the store was not open or appeared that no one was in the store. She told me she was there the whole time and that they are open now. Don’t get me wrong I understand things happen but 20 minutes after opening… that’s a little ridiculous. Sorry Ms. Sally, I’ll be headed to another place for my hair products from now on.
