Scooter Lab

I heard good things about this place, and brought my scooter to them for service. I explained exactly what I wanted, and made it clear that cost was no concern. They assured me that they could accomplish everything I asked for.
After 3 weeks, they told me my bike was ready. When I arrived, I found that only half the work I asked for was actually done. One of the items (a carbon rear fairing) wasn’t even looked at. Instead of fixing it (as I requested) they slapped a piece of black tape on it to hold it in place! Not at all the level of service I expected.
When leaving with my (not completed bike) I started out of the parking lot towards the street. I gave it some throttle, and… the throttle stuck. Now I’m shooting towards traffic with a wide open throttle. I managed to brake and shut off the bike just in time. Russel apologized for the oversight (didn’t check the cable after working on it) but still, I almost dumped the bike because of their lack of attention to detail.
Fast forward: I had them order a new carbon fairing for the back (to replace the one they couldn’t fix the first time). They also ordered some spares (their suggestion). I paid for all this, plus prepaid for the future service of installing the fairing. 3 weeks later, the shipment finally arrives… without my part.
They tell me that the part was unavailable, and they weren’t told until the shipment arrived. I immediately go online to the manufacturer, see it as available, put it in my cart and order it myself. It’s sitting next to me as I type.
Finally, to add insult to injury… I call them on Monday to schedule for them to install the fairing. I leave a message (I knew I would, as they are closed Monday). I leave a message Tuesday. And Wednesday. And Thursday. Finally, I get an email on Friday saying they will refund me for the carbon piece. They don’t even have the courtesy to call, instead they hide behind an email.
Now Jon is emailing me (and being very rude) and basically saying it’s all my fault. He is claiming they didn’t order any spares, even though I stood at the counter and watched while they did. And I paid for them. Not only that, but they are denying that I asked them to fix the fairing in the first place, even though they took a video of my initial consultation where I make it very clear that it is a priority.
Abysmal customer service. Rude employees. Shoddy work. I will never give my business to them again, and I suggest you don’t either.
*Edit: After receiving the receipt today, it appears I didn’t pay for the spares, because they were not ordered. Even though I was told they were being ordered. My fault for not reading the receipt and taking them at their word. That said, I still stand behind my review. I may not be out the money for those spares, but I was still misled.

Let me preface this by saying that I know this is a «Scooter» shop, but I called prior to make sure they could do work on a Honda CRF 250R dirt bike. I brought the bike in, had $ 450 worth of tune up service done including carb work, fluids, alignment, etc.
Jon and the others were nice, but I was incredibly unsatisfied with the fact that they CLEARLY didn’t try or couldn’t start the bike. I was told the bike was running fine, but the mechanic said it in a way that suggested he had no idea how it was running. When I took it home and tried to kick start it it wouldn’t fire so I took it back in, and they told me it was an electrical problem they couldn’t fix.
In my invoice it says verbatim «REVIEW ALL ELECTRONICS».
Ultimately I’m unsatisfied with the fact that I was told the bike was running fine when in reality it wasn’t. I understand tune ups cost ~$ 400 – 500, but it’s not good business practice to say you did something when you clearly didn’t.

Brought my ruckus in for a tune up and had a good experience. Dropped off at the time of open and Tony had it ready by two, same day. Good price, convenient location, and honest mechanic. I definitely recommend.

There’s nothing sadder than a scooter that doesn’t scoot. That’s exactly what we’ve had in the garage for the past several months. After I contacted Scooter Lab, the scooter was picked up within hours. Repairs were completed the next day. Pricing was very reasonable. Now, everything is running fine and this scooter story has a very happy ending. Thanks, Scooter Lab!

Sloppy tune up (with oil light going off the same day I picked it up); only to be followed by an owner who wouldn’t willingly follow through on his email offer to remedy. I’ll admit that I became short at this; but I didn’t then expect a rude and belligerent response, which is exactly what I got!

Great service, reasonable prices. A major service ended up costing less than the competitors in town and was done more quickly. No complaints.

Jon is a phenomenal mechanic and human being. He truly has a passion for his work and it shows in his results. He’s a mechanic’s mechanic, and I wouldn’t take my scooter anywhere else. I spun out with both Erico and Sportfreak, and thankfully Denver can boast exactly one quality scooter professional. The mechanics he has working for him are fantastic.
Jon is very attentive, timely, and knowledgeable. His prices are fair, and he won’t do service that doesn’t need to be done. I’m going to nominate him for a congressional medal of honor as the last honest man in the moto/​scooter world. Trust me, you’ll be pulling wheelies in minutes under Jon’s expert guidance and care!

I’m finally getting around to writing a review. I’m so glad I found Jon. I was having a number of problems with my Kymco People scooter. It finally died by the side of the road and I had to call a tow truck. I had taken it to two other places before, but wasn’t happy — so I decided to have it towed to my home to have time to look for another place to get it fixed. The tow truck driver told me he was called out to tow another scooter a couple of days before. The owner of that scooter recommended Jon, so I had it towed there on a whim. Boy was I lucky! Jon does an amazing job. Thanks Jon!

Honest mechanics who actually care about the quality of their work. I brought them a dirty, not running scooter that has been sitting under a stairwell for over a year and when I got it back not only did it run better and faster than it ever has, it was clean!

Carb clean, turn light installation and scooter tune-​up. Everything went great. Jon gives a very thorough look over your bike and does a great job in explaining the issues he sees. Very reasonable pricing and a quick turnaround. Bike has run great all summer. Found my go to scooter mechanic and am happy I can now avoid going to Sportique Scooters.

Jon at Scooter Lab is a great mechanic! I was having some issues with my Vespa, so I brought it to him for a tune up and oil leak fix. He finished the repairs a few days earlier than estimated. When I got the scooter home, I had a few issues with the repairs. I called Jon up and he was very apologetic, ordered a part overnight, and came out to my house to fix the problem. Talk about customer service! I’ll be taking my Vespa here for all future work. Thanks!

OK here is my story. I bought a scooter on craigslist that hadn’t run in a while. I thought I’m a man I can change the oil, spark plugs and battery and the thing will run like new. WRONG. There where issues with it that were way beyond my pay grade. I’m really glad I found Scooter Lab as I was in over my head. I called Jon at Scooter Lab and he tried to walk me step by step over a few common things it might be. But I decided that it was best if he took a look at it. Oh on to the next problem how the heck was I going to get it to the shop? The shop was only a couple of miles away but I’m not going to push the thing. I was very happy to find out that Scooter Lab has a pickup service YAY for me!!! Well anyway to make a long story shorter. Jon came and picked up my scooter and a few days later it was purring like, well a scooter. Its running great! The service was great! And the price was very reasonable. Thanks Jon! Thanks Scooter Lab! I’m a happy camper. Highly recommended.
