Awful. Just plain awful. After a not that awful tasting Sunday lunch, but awful surroundings, where the staff out-numbered the patrons, and pin drops could be heard from our seats, I gave the benefit of the doubt and returned for a weekday lunch. Awful. Just plain awful. Dry, arid desert-like duck. So dry, it was powdery and stuck in one’s throat. No pancakes or steamed buns to accompany the duck; just dry duck and a weird tasting hoisin. Garlic shrimp lunch that was charged at the dinner rate, yet only 6 shrimps were on the plate full of filler. Two weak drinks, and the total was a whopping $ 45.00 before tax and tip. Are you freaking kidding me? Did I mention we were again the only people during lunch hour. My crystal ball detects another belly up restaurant. By the way folks… if you Sell a GC, honor the GC… don’t make excuses while your only patrons sit uncomfortably in your empty restaurant staring at plates full of uneaten food; especially when you just honced said patrons. Duck at lunch $ 18? 6 Shrimp $ 12 $ 7.50 for a shorty V&T — at lunch? Awful.

I’ve order from here many times before. The food has always been good and prompt delivery. I’ve had such great experiences with this place before that I told my co-workers about it. We all decided to place our lunch order from here. I called in to place everyone’s order and was given total attitude! Whoever they have answering the phones needs to learn the definition of customer service. She acted like I was bothering her by placing an order. The attitude she displayed on the phone is almost not worth ordering from here again. When I asked for the manager, she told me he was making deliveries… right. I give them 5 stars for food and ZEROSTARS for customer service. Se7en, you may have just lost a consistent customer. I found out the girl that answers the phone lied to me when I asked what the Manager’s name was! I was told his real name from the delivery guy. When we called back in to speak with the Manager, we were given a false number. In fact, it was a guy that had submitted his resume to Se7en in the past. Ridiculous! If you want to make a complaint at this place it must be in person.

Se7en is a classic Chinese restaurant cloaked in a trendy ‘bar-ish’ scene on Broadway and 9th. We rolled in around 9:45p.m. on a Saturday night and, with the exception of a few regulars at the bar, we were the only people in there(they serve food until 11). We sat at the bar and received great service from the bartender(even after a few more people rolled in). Per usual, we ordered way too much just so we could get a good sample of the menu. We started with hot & sour soup(nothing great — similar to any other hot & sour you have ever had); moved onto their special spring roll(All Seasons Roll) — delicious take on a staple; Then we had Peddler’s noodle, Fried Rice, and Chow Fun(I think that’s what it was called). Peddler’s noodle is forgettable, but the rice and chow noodle dishes were awesome — definitely recommended! Despite being super full, we kept eating — that kind of good. They have a decent selection of wines and plenty of cocktail selections to keep the libations flowing. Definitely worth checking out!

I ordered for delivery, it took a little longer than I would have liked but it was good and the driver was extremely apologetic about the wait. I had the Teriyaki Chicken and it came with Egg Drop Soup and an eggroll, all of it was tasty. The best part was the assortment of vegetables it came with: mini corn on the cob(which always reminds me of Big), asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, snap peas and onions. I also got some steamed dumplings, they tasted good but didn’t really seem steamed. more like steamed and then maybe pan fried? Meh. I didn’t really care for that. I have leftovers for days though so I should get a good hangover meal out of it this weekend. Worth a try guys

I very much enjoyed the food here. It was definitely beyond your average Asian-fusion fare. Strangely enough, their salt+pepper wings were especially good — some of the best I’ve tried. Also loved their purple beef. Our waiter(also the manager) was super friendly and talked to us through the details of the menu and even had us try a strange Thai tea drink. Didn’t like the drink, but appreciated the experience. They definitely go all-out to make you feel welcome.

I love Asian food, that said, the food at Se7en is amazing. The ingredients are always fresh, the service is good, and learning that the owner pretty much lives in the kitchen just shows me the dedication they have to the food they serve. They don’t always have everything on the menu, they won’t serve you something if it isn’t fresh, and I like this philosophy. They have a nice selection of affordable wines, they deliver, take-out orders(which I’ve made several) have always been spot on! Things you should try. The fusion rolls and the curry chicken!

I went in to see a friend that was bar tending, I had no idea this place exsisted. The bar has a cool atmosphere, I love the fish take. But there was NOONE in the place! That always makes me a little nervious, but I pushed through that. I had the potstickers they were very good. I think they just need to get the word out that they have a good happy hour and good apps and maybe the place will fill up.

Wow. It’s sad when a place uses a Groupon to try to save a sinking ship. I cannot even express how bad of an experience this was. We bought a Groupon and decided to try out a new place. Which we always love doing. So first we drop by and are told that we need to have a reservation to use our Groupon. Not a big deal… because we are told that it’s because they buy veggis fresh everyday and need to know how much to buy… and we like fresh veggies. We had a 7pm reservation last night, which we called and pushed to 7:30pm and the gal who answered the phone said that would make her very happy as they were really busy. We got there to see 2 other tables. We waited about 5 mins for anyone to greet us. First red flag. Then 10 — 15mins to get a drink order. Second red flag.(remember we’re table 3) We had looked over the mixed cocktail menu and had each picked one we would try. When the waitress«dropped by’ like we we’re old pals she told us that all the cocktails were«garbage» we asked for suggestions she said«we have a full bar» and then recommended the Malbac. We both went for it as nothing else looked great. At $ 8.50 a glass I want a full pour, maybe it’s just me… but when an extremely small pour comes after minutes we both kind of looked at each other and laughed. This was not going well. After finding out the Crab Cake appetizer was sold out, she recommenced the fried cheese wontons as they were her favorite. Quite honestly it wouldn’t surprise me if that is all she has eaten for every meal for the last couple of months. We skip the wontons After another 20 mins of her disappearing she comes out of know where. We were finishing our isty bitsy glasses of wine as the waitress plopped down to join us at our table. And said we «looked like nice people» and wouldn’t mind if she sat down. YES!!! I do effing mind. We’re on a date night. We finally get our orders in: the Basil Duck and Duck salad. The waitress ran away before we could get more drinks. I walked up to the bar to see if I could find anyone to get us waters. We’re a good 45+ mins into our visit at this point. 10 mins later she dropped off the waters and asked if we wanted more wine as we have«10 bucks’ left on our Groupon.(I’m thinking the Groupon is why we came but we’re not afraid to spend money.) We declined the wine(as it was mediocre at best) says she’ll give us time to think about it and she runs away… I get up and chase her down, to put the Jamison and Gingers($ 12 each) order in…20 mins later still no drinks. Again I walk to the bar. I find her, and she says that she is really busy, that’s when I point out there were only 3 tables when I ordered drinks 20 mins before. Our drinks arrive within 5 mins. The food shows up 15mins after the drinks. At this point when the Duck Salad($ 9)looks like cat food on pre-mixed salad and the Basil Duck($ 17) is no better, we ask for the check. In all we wasted almost 2 hours, tasted the overpriced under poured and poorly mixed drinks and left hungry and disappointed. The saving grace of the evening was Dazzle across the street, we opted for a properly made cocktail and after sharing our story with the bartender, a smoked Mac n cheese bowl showed up and saved the night. When you go out it’s to get away… and Se7en is not the place to do it. If we wouldn’t have had the Groupon the bill would have been over $ 60. which for truck stop service and bad food… is a bit steep.

Came here for lunch yesterday. Gotta say, really enjoyed it. Food was fresh, tasty and plentiful, and the staff were really friendly and helpful too. Defo will be back. Very easy on the wallet at lunchtime too!

So we were a little hesitant when we read on the door that Groupon people had to give 24 hours notice. seemed a little odd. But since the place was pretty empty, they said we could skip that unknown formality. Honestly, the food was really good. the wontons were simple and yummy, the hot and sour soup was amazing(actually had tofu and veggies in it), the garlic eggplant was GREAT, and the Peddler’s Noodle was different and super yummy sweet spicyness. Our waitress was nice though she was the only one working that night so she was running around a bit and they even boxed up some ice cream for us to take home(super yummy also). All in all, I’m not a huge cooked asian food fan but I would come back here even without the deal…

Positive: Cute decore, nothing special. Service was good and the food came out fast. We ordered the green curry shrimp and the Mongolian beef with two hot and sour soups. Our dishes were good and the portions were nice for the price(soup comes with the meal). We got brown rice at no extra charge which is not always the norm. Negative: Appertizers were not good. Do not try the scallion pancakes. No flavor and dripping fat. As for the pot-stickers, good but not great. Too much dough if you ask me. My date ordered a glass of wine which I believe the waitress drank half off because it wasn’t nearly enough for $ 8. I ordered some tea and my cup was dirty. Nice touch when you just sat down. Overall: Thanks to all the poor Unilocal reviews, our expectations were pretty low so I think we were pleasantly surprised. The appetizers made us really worried for the rest of the meal but our main dishes were good. Good but not great. We’ve had better. We wish them luck but we will not be back. A lesson we learned with Se7en: check Unilocal reviews before you buy a Groupon!

The only saving grace of this meal was the coconut shrimp. Very breaded but great flavor. We literally did not eat the other things we ordered. My boyfriend will eat nearly anything but when the crispy duck came out looking like a live duck had been breaded, fried and then chopped with a cleaver, he pushed the plate away — his appetite gone. My salmon was way over-seasoned and extremely dry, I had a few bites and then pushed my plate away. When we got the bill, it turns out the server had rung the salmon in to be cooked medium-well, without asking. I ate a few pieces of broccoli and carrots from the dish until I didn’t want another bite of the over-seasoned sauce. The bartender tried to save our dining experience(the server didn’t know what to do so brought him into the situation.) He offered to substitute a new dish for the ones we ordered but unfortunately our appetites were gone. I won’t bother too much with the atmosphere of the place other than to say that it was really boring. Nothing was taken off our bill and we still left a 20% tip since it’s good dining karma, but it would have been less expensive for me to just eat the $$$ I spent on my Groupon and not have come to this restaurant.

The service was adequate. Our cheese wontons were more enjoyable than wontons ever are; they were crisper than most you’d find elsewhere and they added a little something to the cheese as well that really gave it some kick. The real star of the meal was their hot and sour soup – flavor-packed and substantive, unlike any hot and sour soup I’ve ever had before. Worth the price of admission right there. The lady ordered the pocket short ribs – a Chinese burrito, as our waiter explained to us, with a pancake instead of a tortilla. It was pretty damn good, with a warm, slightly doughy wrapper that really made it stand out in the sea of burritos in Denver. Definitely worth ordering, and a great portion for only $ 7. The biggest disappointment, though, was that I ordered the Fusion Kick, which our waiter said was their signature item. It’s steak, a few veggies, and shrimp in what was billed as a jalapeño oyster sauce. The sauce, of course, sounded intriguing, but was underwhelming with little flavor other than a satisfactory but half-hearted heat. It was a massive disappointment, especially considering it was priced at a far-too-high $ 16. Apparently the menu has a few misses among the hits, and perhaps the staff is a bit spaced out, but the bottom line is that the good of the place is incredible and the bad is still bearable. We’ll be back for sure.

The food was awful, I don’t even want to relive the experience by writing about it. I gave one star only based on the bartender. He was really nice and tried really hard. The glass of wine I had was good and it was a great pour. I don’t think this place will last… It’s unfortunate because I really would like to see something succeed in the Beavallon. I won’t be back to this place, I rather lose the $$ I paid for my groupon then sit through a meal here.

I wasn’t expecting much based on the reviews, but I really loved my meal. I did not love the calamari. We love calamari, usually getting it where ever we go. Se7en should probably take it off the menu. It was really rubbery and sorta bland. Not gross, but not«Damn this is the best sea creature I’ve ever eaten» either. I got a shrimp and beef dish that was really yummy. great kick, nice flavor. Our experience was a little off since the fill in bartender was our waiter. So he offered us fried rice with our meal, delivered white, and when asked was like«Oh yeah I think they took it off the menu, let me see what I can do» and never came back.

Sunday night — it’s pretty dead. I went with my groupon, single waitress was«eating dinner» so fill-in bartender was greeting folks, taking orders, making drinks etc. We started with the calamari — ewww… rubbery, batter was so so, and sauce was obviously mayo based. Lovers shrimp was my meal of choice — the sweet and soup tasted like the base was ketchup — eww. The lobster sauce was good, and presentation was really cool Hubby got the super spicy shrimp and meat dish — dang was it hot! It’s a cumulative heat! All in all, if i was in the area, i would go to dazzle for the martinis and happy hour and for me, i’d hit up wok uptown or JJ’s if i wanted Chinese. Parking is weird, there is a structure beyond the restaurant, but the signs say tenant parking… assuming that meant me.

This place was a bit… perplexing. Had a groupon and really wanted to go before it closed(sadly, have little faith in the longevity of the establishments in the Beauvallon). We arrived around 7:30. Each seat at the bar was taken, and despite the fact that there were only two couples eating in the dining room, the greeter was kind enough to ask if we had a reservation?!? Would it have mattered if we did? The menu looked like it was just printed by a high schooler — typos, weird font and kitchsy names. Our waitress seemed nervous and told us they were out of a bunch of wine(redoing their wine offerings). The colors are dusty rose to the max, booths are low and it looks like it hasn’t been redone since ’92. Then my husband said the following: «this is like a chinese restaurant in a strip mall». A-ha! YES. He summed up my incoherent feelings in one easy sentence. It was then that I stopped hating on it and realized that they are not trying to be a nice, fancy place. They are a chinese restaurant, plain and simple. With that epiphany — we were free to enjoy the Coconut Shrimp appetizer, Apple Chicken(which was really orange chicken with pieces of apple on top) and the teriyaki chicken. Although the whole experience was weird, it was fairly cheap — the app, 2 entrees, ice cream, beer and glass of wine was $ 49. Seven — this isn’t a threat, but, should I find out you are really trying to be a nice, upscale place, then my rating drops to a 1… i’m just sayin’

Good food, nice choice of items to fit any taste and budget, good preparations. It’s just in that annoying Beauvallon mess of a building — that place is repellent. The delivery menu has great options, I look forward to dropping a fiver on someone else to do the driving during snowy nights. WHY on the website have they chosen to name the restaurant after an incredible bloody, creepy movie: SE7EN? It seems clever, maybe someone just didn’t do research or isn’t old enough to remember the gruesome serial killer flick with Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt. Four stars for food and delivery Three stars for SE7EN name Two stars for Beauvallon location
