This place is AMAZING. I don’t use that word lightly. We came in during a snowy day for an early dinner. We loved the wine list — had several very delicious wines off the menu. The food was PERFECT. We started with the burrata and the beet tar tar. Both were fresh, delicious flavors, and we agree that it is one of our favorite burrata’s we have ever tried. We then ordered the steak and the short ribs — both were totally on point and perfectly cooked. We can not wait to come back here! We just wish the cheese plate was still on the menu!~

Came here with reservations for their pri fixe New Year’s Eve meal. Quiet, small place but plenty of street and parking lot parking. Nice clean décor and great tentative service. Just understand you are in for a 2.5−3 hour meal. To start I got the escargot on toast. Buttery and delicious. Next up with the lobster bisque. Chunks of lobster in this creamy tasty soup. My main meal ended up being the worst part for me. Got the short ribs and was disappointed with the overwhelming salty thick sauce. I couldn’t even finish it cause it was a bit too much. Dessert was glorious though: chocolate tart was so rich. I could lick it up. All in all, great place for a date night or special night out with friends. Wine was flowing and we had a great time. Just wish my main entrée was a bit tastier.

Another great restaurant in the West Highlands neighborhood. From the Pinot Noir, draft Prost pilsner, chips with goat cheese dip, braised beef short ribs with collard greens, grouper with asparagus, to the house made ice cream– it was a yummy experience! Felt good to support a small local restaurant that specializes in quality organic food. Service was attentive and knowledgeable too. We will be back!

I didn’t realize this place existed until someone invited me. I thought it was still the Corel Room. They did a good job trying to make this more like a bar vibe but I still felt like I was in a restaurant. I don’t mind paying more for drinks when the place warrants it but, in this case, I felt it was a little pricy for where I was. I think overall, this just wasn’t my type of place to hang out.

This is my favorite breakfast burrito in town, hands down. Great bloody marys as well. They play records for the music and it has always been awesome stuff(last time it was Muddy Waters).

Happened upon Small Wonder when we were looking for a place to have some wine and appetizers. Food was pretty good, delicata squash appetizer was amazing, mussels were pretty good as well. We also shared the pork belly meal, pork belly was pretty dry and under seasoned, but the white bean sauce was good. The Wagyu beef was delicious. Complaints… Host stand was super unorganized, considering how small the place is, service was pretty slow. I do want to try for brunch on a weekend and will probably give it another chance.

3 ½ stars. Had a nice dinner here with the husband. Mussel appetizer was tasty as was the wagyu beef. The rosemary chicken entrée(recommended by our server) had very little flavor and was in need of salt and pepper. Service was a bit spotty but overall had a nice evening.

We stopped into Small Wonder after wandering around the Farmer’s Market nearby; we were in need of refreshment. We had already eaten brunch so we weren’t hungry but their menu looked great! Our server was great — Davey. He was friendly, funny and attentive. He even asked if anything that we bought at the Farmer’s Market needed refrigeration as they offer a «Veggie Valet» for free. Ummm, that’s awesome! Our drinks were pretty good. I got the grapefruit mimosa — large serving for $ 8. My friend got the white sangria which she enjoyed. Unique décor, great little bar area. Awesome location. I’d love to come back for food sometime.

Great food, had the homemade pasta and a yummy chocolate pie dessert. The atmosphere is very nice and the music was great for a Sunday evening.

Yummy! The seafood boullabaisse was fantastic! Is it ok to slurp the bowl? And the deviled heirloom tomato… get out of town it’s so delicious. The final touch… the homemade caramel tart again, I wanted to lick the plate clean. A fun & ever changing wine menu makes this a certain go to place for a great time. Oh, and the«craft» cocktails — you must try! Something for everyone. I will definitely be going back! See you there!

Love the Staff. Both Grant and Ryan are great bartenders and just fun to hangout with. The menu has changed a great deal from the Coral Room and is much better. Also love their brunch!

Best brunch spot in town. With a patio in the heart of the highlands that is dog friendly. Mimosa’s made with fresh squeezed orange juice and all local ingredients on the menu. Very farm to table. Fresh and one of a kind. Definitely my new brunch hot spot. Casual and friendly and food made with love!

Too bad Small Wonder Food and Wine hasn’t upped the ante service and food-wise since being known as Coral Room. With their location and the Highlands’ love of patronizing local shops and restaurants, they would crush it. My husband and I hadn’t been to Small Wonder since it had been Coral Room. We decided to go for brunch to check out. Unfortunately, both food and service were lacking. When we declined to order«adult drinks» twice, he then suggested that he should«leave the menu in case we change our minds». Note to servers: when your customers give you an answer, respect it and leave it at that. Our food came and while the presentation wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good either. It just didn’t look as if the kitchen put much care into it. Then, both of our meals were salty and the portions seemed slightly meager. The final issue came with our bill. We were charged a higher price for our meals than they had been on the menu(we hadn’t ordered any«sides», «extras», or anything else). We brought this to our server’s attention and his immediate response was that it was because we had«chosen the baguette».(FYI, THEMEALCAMEWITH A CHOICEOFTOASTORBAGUETTE. ITWASNOTANEXTRA, NORWASTHEREANEXTRACHARGEFORTHECHOICEOF A BAGUETTE. Which, by the way, was three small pieces of un-toasted bread.) When we expressed our confusion about this, he didn’t offer an apology at all, but said, with the attitude of doing us a favor, that he would take off the extra charge. Yikes. We had hoped that with a new name, positive changes would also have come, but that’s not the case. There are too many great restaurants in the Highlands and we have no need to return to Small Wonder.

AMAZING!!! The service in and of itself is something to talk about, but then, the bartender walks up and makes you an amazing drink. If that’s not enough, order the food. I dare you, it is the BEST food I’ve had in a long time. This is a diamond in the rough for sure. Highly recommend, to anyone. My three year old niece or my fifty year old mother. Great place for everyone!

This was a fun place. It has a «hole in the wall feel» and I was impressed by the relaxed atmosphere. I went for Sunday brunch and enjoyed my meal. I had a sunnyside egg on top of sausage gravy on top of a piece of french bread. It came with potatoes and an arugula salad — loved the salad, it was perfectly seasoned. I wasn’t a huge fan of the potatoes. The main part of the dish was good, though I’ll probably try something new next time. I sat at the bar — One of the bartenders was super friendly, the other was super focused on others that were there — they may have been friends? At one point she offered shots on her for everyone else sitting at the bar(on both sides of me) — even used the space right in front of me to put the 9 shot glasses — but continued to ignore me. I didn’t expect anything free, but found it to be a little bit of a weird experience. Overall, solid place — I’ll go again.

I always enjoyed Coral Room before and today we went for brunch in our post-Derby/Mayweather hangover stupor. Now called Small Wonder, it has stayed mainly the same. My favorite part of Coral Room was the 90s hip hop they always played, and thank goodness Small Wonder still plays the same station. It’s just not brunch without a little Bone Thugs-N-Harmony! The make fresh squeezed grapefruit and orange juice mimosas, they hit the spot. The French toast wasn’t anything out of this world, and was a small portion, but delicious. The breakfast burrito is a solid one, I enjoyed it thoroughly. All their meats are sourced sustainably, which is always attractive. The big thing I love about this place is the solid waitstaff and that you can ALWAYS get in here. In a city full of brunch options and hour-long waits, it’s so nice to just walk in and eat the hangover away.

Food is improved from when it operated as Coral Room, but the lackluster service still exists. It’s a good spot in the neighborhood that you can always walk in and get a table and have good food. We go about every other month, always enjoy the food, but leave under impressed by the service.
