Checked this place out with a friend, who was visiting from out of town. Mind you, I just moved back(by moved back, I mean I moved out of CO, at 2 years old. So I pretend I’m native). Lets just get the first few things out of the way. The snowlab type desert is interesting, but just not for me. It just felt super dry, almost like eating dry ice… not that I’ve eaten dry ice before. I just kept finding myself thinking«I wish I got froyo intead». Now we have that out of the way. The whole concept in general is awesome, the inside is pretty cool too. Very upbeat, custom art(some even have instagram names so you can follow them). The employees are cool, young, and laid back. Parking can be iffy, but nothing some walking can’t fix. The toppings are tasty. They even have cool games to play, while you eat. I could see this being a nice stop on a date. Pros(the inside itself bumped this up from 3 to 4 stars). –Unique –Dope ass inside –Custom art, and wall painting –Cool employees –boardgames Cons -(not really a con, it just depends on your taste) the actual desert itself, wasn’t for me. felt super dry, and lacking of flavor(most likely because i’m a froyo addict).

I found this place on Unilocal and decided to try it. It was delicious. The icecream was not too sweet and a lot of topping too. Great place to hang out with friends on the weekend. Not a lot parking spaces available. We’ll be back, yum yum yum!

Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum! Super vegan friendly, including but not limited to VEGANCONDENSEDMILK. Yes that’s right. Big fan of the strawberry special. There are other excellent and many obscure flavored as well. A sweet little space with fine parking if you know how to properly reverse off a slight hill onto a main road. Wifi, plugs, games and super nice people. Win win win.

Just stopped by for a quick afternoon bite, and I couldn’t be more pleased by discovering this hidden gem! Everyone working there was super friendly and helpful, letting me sample multiple flavors of snow and the various exotic(to me) toppings they offer. It was a perfect, relatively healthy treat that satisfied this lactose-intolerant! I highly recommend the coconut, lychee, and black sesame snows! Definitely give this place a try!

So glad Denver finally has a shaved ice location. I really craved it after I tried it in California so this was great. The place is clean and the owners are really nice. There are games to play with friends. It really reminds me of the locations and hang outs back in California. Besides the interior, the shaved ice is really good. The only down side is parking especially during rush hour.

Omg so good. Location isn’t great, keep an eye out for parking before you get to it. The flavors are so good and taste like the real thing, not syrupy sugar crap. Thai tea, green tea, and coconut were particularly tasty. The oolong with salted cream(drink, not shaved ice) looked amazing, will have to try to another time. I got green mountain(green tea shaved ice, sweetened condensed milk, red bean, mochi) and was so happy. I thought there was no way to finish a regular size because it’s huge… but I did. Definitely worth a visit. Cute, clean interior too-can sit in there and hangout while eating.

Worth the magical adventure it is to actually find the place buried on tht awkward intersection a block east of Colorado and Evans. Effortlessly mixes foreign treats like red beans and mochi with tried and true american toppings. If you dont know what mochi is, I assume you didnt read manga and play video games in high school. If so, congrats on the social life! but you should still try mochi and the other Asian sweets like lychee(and shaved ice itself — basically its just ice cream, but opposite the«heaviness» spectrum from gelato). Bottom line if you like fro yo places this place fits right in. extremely quick service to boot.

I took my daughter and my friend. Its kind of a little different than anything I’ve ever had. It’s shaved like water-ice or snow cones but lighter somehow. It is like eating a cloud, light and fluffy and cold and yummy. Can’t quite describe it. It looks like frozen yogurt with the toppings, but it’s different. You have to get the sweet topping on top, I don’t think the ice is sweet enough without it. The dudes running it are nice, young and seem to be on top of stuff. The vibe is hipster minimalist/industrial but it feels cozy and modern as well. It was clean, the toppings seemed well stocked and clean and fresh. The location is strange. Its right next to this auto-place turned gym and right off i25& evans. Its worth the trek and I can see this place branching out. The prices are a bit high, but its a gourmand kind of experience, not unlike going out of your way to get boba, and is clearly a dreamchild of some industrious dudes. Really neat.

Thanks to a Unilocal event, I learned that I can get Taiwanese shave ice here in Denver – right by my office! They do it well, too. I tried a couple of flavors at the event and enjoyed them all. At the store, I had the green mountain: green tea ice, mochi, red bean, & condensed milk. Soo good. The chewy mochi is good with the creamy ice. My husband’s coffee snow with granola and caramel was also delicious. The store is pretty big, and it’s stylish. Since the location is a destination, it’s comfortable enough to hang out for a bit. Glad to see they also have tea and coffee, including Thai tea and Vietnamese iced coffee. I can see some afternoon trips to Snowlab for caffeine to get me through the late-day slump at work! I’m so glad they are here and that they are near me.

I came here based on the positive Unilocal reviews, plus its close proximity to Native Foods and the fact that they advertise on their site that they have vegan options(I’m not vegan, but I like having the option since lactose in large quantities is not my friend and it’s nice to have healthy alternatives. First impressions: terrible location. Somewhat hidden behind a big Enterprise Rent-a-Car building, parking on a steep slope that was icy as hell when I visited, and difficult to access unless you’re coming at it from the right direction(eastbound). They’re going to get close to zero impulse customers because you can hardly see their little sign, and there’s nothing advertising what’s inside(the first couple times I drove by, I assumed this was a place to buy snowboarding equipment). Interior is great. It’s open, clean, and well lit with lots of interesting local art on the walls and custom built tables that reminded me of the Colorado Room in Ft. Collins. The menu lists your options to the right of the counter. I do wish the concept was more self serve like the frozen yogurt places so I could control my portion size and pick my toppings without the pressure of holding up a line, but at least the guys at the counter(the owners, I gather) were friendly and helpful. My only gripe with the interior is that the place was a bit cold, which can be kind of unpleasant on a cold weather day while eating cold food. The shaved ice is really interesting. It’s light and fluffy, like fresh powder snow, and instantly melts in your mouth and turns creamy. The flavors are lighter and milder than ice cream, which I enjoyed — not so cloyingly sweet. I tried the lychee on my first visit, with almond gel, mochi, and condensed milk on top. Yum! I’m looking forward to trying the other interesting flavors like black rice horchata. Prices are a little steep at $ 5 and up, but you do get a large serving for that price. I wish they had smaller options at a lower price, however. One does not always desire a bucket of shaved ice. Overall, there was a few gripes, but I really enjoyed my first experience with shaved ice and I liked the the vibe of the place and interesting options, so I’ll definitely be back for more.

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me to explain the difference between ice and snow. Ice is really shaved ice, and snow is shaved soy milk. That’s why it’s more creamy! We got here 5 min before closing and they were really nice about serving us. We got a menu item called«Black sesame peak». which has black sesame shaved snow, crushed oreos, strawberries and condensed milk. You can also customize your own, they have some pretty interesting flavors. No one was sitting in the place so we took it home. It was really cold out so it made it home(~10−15 min) without melting too much. The snow was really creamy, it tasted like ice cream even though it is shaved ice/snow. I guess it’s because of the condensed milk. The décor looks nice and trendy. It would be a good place to hang out with friends. It didn’t look like there’s much parking outside though. But since we went around closing(10PM) the businesses next door were closed, so that wasn’t an issue. This is sort of in a random location, might do better in an area with more foot traffic. Some people mentioned its the first shaved ice place in Denver, but I know you can get it in H-mart also. I don’t remember if you can get different sizes in H-mart though. Snowlab definitely has more flavors and better ambience for eating it. Would like to come back again when I’m in town.

Denver’s first shaved snow place, and it doesn’t disappoint! The regular size is about $ 5 and comes with one snow flavor, two toppings, and a choice of drizzle. I would say it’s a good value for the price. They have bigger cup sizes as well that also include more toppings. I like that they have some pre set combinations as well as the option to choose whatever you want. They definitely fill the cup to the brim with the snow. The only downside is that not a lot of toppings can be put because the cup is already so full, but the snow is the main attraction anyway so it’s not too big of a deal(I just really enjoy my toppings too). The snow texture is really light and airy. With condensed milk it’s so smooth and addicting to eat! I really enjoyed the green tea, taro, and black rice horchata. Although the flavor of black rice horchata reminded me more of black sesame than horchata. It had a more nutty flavor rather than the sweetness and spice I would expect from horchata. My only complaint about is that they don’t seem to have an option where you can get two flavors of snow in one cup. Otherwise I really enjoy this new addition to Denver and can’t wait to be back to try more flavors!

I’m so glad that we have shaved ice in Colorado now. Snowlab is seriously an awesome treat. I was definitely anticipating the opening of this place. It is definitely good and I super recommend it. Not only is their dessert tasty, their Facebook is always on point, and their décor isn’t in poor taste. When I went, I had one of their secret menu items that they posted on their Facebook. It was the Lychee shaved snow topped off with green tea mochi, strawberries, condensed milk, and li hing mui powder. What I loved about their shaved ice was the lightness and fluffiness of it. I’ve had shaved ice in Houston at Nu Café, but I don’t think Nu Café can even compare with here. Snowlab is 10X better than the shaved ice in Houston. One thing that I really liked was the friendliness of the guys working. After they helped to complete our order, they offered to put more condensed milk and li hing mui powder on our shaved ice desserts. That just goes to show you their awesome customer service. They have loads of toppings that you can put on. Also, their fruit toppings are seriously awesome. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to try their drink menu items. But, I will will definitely be back for their drinks and more. Also, I noticed that they had sold out of their avocado shaved ice on the day I went. Although that wasn’t the flavor I was meaning to try at the time, I think that you might want to get your shaved ice before they run out of the flavors you like!

Parking sucks, people are great, plenty of seating and there are lots of flavors to choose from. Went there on a Sunday afternoons with my kid and met up with some more friends. The kids loved the games they had available and they loved their flavors too. I got the mango tango? Can’t remember the name exactly but it was just ok for me. When trying any shaved ice or snow ice, i know it won’t have the creaminess of milk ice cream, but i would hope that even if I didn’t get any toppings the snow ice would still be awesome by itself. The flavor just wasn’t there for me. It was bland, I tasted no mango from the snow ice unless I took a bite of the toppings with it. They’ve just opened up so I’m sure there will be lots more growth and the taste can only get better. Nonetheless, this is still a great spot to hang out with friends.

I’ve been here twice since their grand opening and I’m pretty sure this is the start to my addiction to SnowLab. It is simply that good. As you walk in it is a very warm, casual ambiance and you’re immediately greeted by the 2 friendly owners. As many reviewers have said, this is the first shaved snow shop to open in Colorado so if you’re not sure what it is, they will happily explain everything to you. They have a large selection of toppings which includes a array of mochi, boba, fruits and sweets. The first time I went I had the Black rice Horchata with Lychee, chocolate chips and condensed milk drizzle. As I put the first spoonful in my mouth I’m greeted with a airy, creamy goodness. It definitely exceeded my expectations because I have experienced some odd tasting Horchata here in Colorado, but this has the perfect balance of sweetness that I like. The second time I visited I had the green tea with mango mochi, chocolate chips and condensed milk drizzle and it was delicious. If you’re a fan of green tea, you will not be disappointed. Just get it. They are working on a dairy-free drizzle, but for now… for all the lactose-intolerant people, just add the condensed milk. It makes all the flavors work in harmony in your mouth so just take the risk, it is completely worth it(no pressure). The location works really well for me as I am always commuting around the Evans and Colorado Blvd area anyway. It’s a great place to stop by to do some work on your computer(they have plenty of outlets) or just visit with friends. Parking can be a little tricky, but no trickier than downtown parking. At least you don’t have to pay to park here. The prices are a little higher than your normal scoop of ice cream, but you get high quality ingredients and a large portion for a regular size. They also offer coffee and a variety of teas, which i will be taste testing the next time I’m in. I highly recommend visiting Snowlab, I will absolutely be going back to try all their seasonal flavors.

OMG where to begin. I can’t express how very excited I was for this place to open. I am a big fan of shaved ice cream(not shaved ice; snow cones are not as good) and the only place I could get my fix was either in California or Vegas. So yeah, I was definitely on top of this one. Snowlab has fulfill my needs and more. My boyfriend and I came in this morning and ordered a regular thai tea shaved ice cream. Every regular comes with two toppings and your choice of drizzle. We opted for the green tea mochi, lychee, and condensed milk. However, there are plenty of other toppings and drizzles to choose from. The ice cream was everything I imagine and more. Because it is shaved, it was fluffy and airy, but creamy at the same time. Another plus, is thai tea is always on the menu. Other places have thai tea ice cream, but it is not always available. We also got a chance to talk to one of the co-owners, Danny(I believe that was his name). He explained to us his envision of the place and how he wanted to bring over something so common in SoCal here to Colorado; thank-you for doing so! Moreover, ice cream here are made with soy milk for all you lactose-intolerant people like myself. They are also working on dairy-free drizzles as well. The space is nice, clean, and spacious. Every table has an outlet for charging your phone or you can study here if you like because they do offer high-speed internet. However, parking in the front can be a pain; there’s plenty of parking to the side as well as across the street. Also, prices here are a little steep compared to the ones in California and Vegas, but since it is the only one here and its made with soy milk, they can take my money!!!

For all the foodies that travel to SoCal to get our fixes for Taiwanese shaved ice, our prayers have been answered! Not only is SNOWLAB the first shaved ice/snow shop in Colorado, they are one of the first to produce a healthy alternative to this dessert with all natural, diary free and gluten free ingredients. Have all the shaved ice you want without feeling guilty. Best part, it tastes the same! I couldn’t even tell the difference until the workers told me. Talk about dessert that doesn’t leave you feeling guilty — this could be trouble for my wallet. Very knowledgeable staff. They already have a ‘secret menu’ and plan on changing up the flavors ever now and then. Toppings and drizzles are unique and favorable as well. Definitely try their different flavors of mochi(regular, mango and green tea) and the condensed milk drizzle goes well with every flavor. I got a secret mango flavor, but next time I’m definitely going to try the black sesame or horchata. Yummmm!

Shaved ice has finally come to Denver! Hooray! We came in on Grand Opening day and had a very pleasant experience. You can pick from signature combinations of shaved ice and toppings, or you can customize a cup of your own. They have flavors ranging from traditional vanilla and green tea, to unique flavors I can’t wait to try, like Thai Tea or Black sesame. I got the green tea mountain in a regular size, topped with mochi, red bean, and condensed milk. The first half was super delicious and reminded me of LA shaved ice. I wish they were more generous with toppings, especially drizzle, as there isn’t enough to enjoy all the way to the bottom. The delicious shaved ice, the relaxed atmosphere, and being just down the street from DU will make this a place a definite regular hangout for my friends.
