I suggested going to Solera because my experiences have been so positive in the past. This time it was for my birthday, and I was so disappointed. I felt as though my requests were unreasonable, and like I was bothering the staff. My reservation ended up growing in numbers, and that seemed to annoy the staff. They were aware it was my birthday and I wasn’t even offered a dessert. I wasn’t looking for a handout, but our party of 12 felt as though they wanted us to leave. Unfortunately, this was the first experience for half of the group, and they concluded they will not be back.

We had the dining out discount book, and decided to try this local place! Joshua is wonderful. Very friendly, professional, and attentive. We have been her twice, and each time received great service. Consistent service. The happy hour here is such a great deal, the Brussel sprouts are to die for! So many wine choices! Not too many on the happy hour menu– but a lot to choose from overall. Really a great place! It is never too crowded. The food is delicious! Great suggestions, and great options. There are not any vegetarian entrees. — but plenty of small plates to put together to make a great vegetarian dish! One day I will try to not eat so much that we can try the desserts– I am sure they are amazing!

I went with a large party on New Year’s Eve and was very impressed with the cocktails, wine list and tapas! Even though the restaurant was very busy — and we had the largest party in the dining room, all of our food came out at the same time and was hot! I’ll definitely be back to try some of the other tapas and entrees!

Great food. Great wine. Great service. Prices are reasonable. Nothing else to say really. Had a fantastic New Years Eve dinner. Enjoyed the calamari and the paella.

This place was the most fun I’ve had at a restaurant in while! My friend and I went last night and everything from the food to the service was phenomenal. We started off with a couple of their signature drinks and asked the server to create a farmers board of his recommendations. He brought us an amazing assortment including goat cheese, a Wisconsin swiss, fig jam, olives and several samples of charcuterie! We also ordered the crab cake and vegetable risotto, which was delicious! Overall, it was pleasant surprise to find such a refined establishment on Colfax. I will definitely be back and I recommend you go as well! Ask for Joshua :)

I was going back through Unilocal and could not remember why I did not give them 5 stars. We keep going back becasue the food is always FANTASTIC, and love the service. I never hesitate to recommend Solera to everyone. Definite 5 Star without hesitation.

Solera is one of my favorites for happy hour, especially on Thursday nights. All of the food is amazing and we usually order parmesan fries, calamari and oysters. Last time I went we also had the Caesar salad. The calamari has a Thai sweet chili sauce and crushed peanuts, which is so delicious and the oysters are my favorite. The cheese and charcuterie plate is also a great way to go too. On Thursdays the bartender also selects certain wines which are then sold for $ 15-$ 20.

Oh indeed for a city get away, this food adventure to the land of Spain was just delight. First and foremost the service was immediate, cordial and so very kind. Servers knew the ins and outs of the cheese and what would meld best with the charcuterie choices. The menu was ideal for group to share including the main course meals. Wine selection was killer, beer was indeed pleasing to the best drinkers at the table. Fit me the sangria was perfectly made even though there was soda in it… All in all I’ve been thinking about the mussels, the steak tartar and beautiful chill yet classy ambiance since we went. Ready to go back!

My wife and I come to Solera about twice a month for the 7 years we’ve lived in Park Hill. We continue to enjoy the great food, helpful and welcoming staff, and warm atmosphere.

First time in and it was wonderful. Asked the owner to just send out his best stuff. He brought out his favorites Pinners and Quarts! We absolutely loved it. Will be back…

Always fresh and friendly. Very low key without being too casual, the essence of a local, neighborhood restaurant. Reliable and friendly, we always have great service and a great meal!

Sat outside with three others. Very accommodating and well informed service. We had whiskey and the Goose Mule. Then did about seven tapas that the server recommended. All of the food was outstanding. The back patio was way chill. Will recommend to all who spend any amount of time in Denver.

I’ve been to Solera three times. The first two times happened nearly 2 years ago and I wasn’t a fan — I’d gotten rude service from the host and wait staff it was off-putting. BUT wanting to stick close to home last night, we decided to try again. I felt we were treated kindly from the hostess and our waiter, Joe. He made a great wine recommendation, paced our tapas well, and was just generally positive. Much different than the other times! The food was also great! We ordered French Dip Sliders, Goat Cheese Crostinis, Truffle Fries, Pork Kebabs and Calamari. I would recommend every single dish! Frankly, the reason I’m giving four and not five stars is that I think the fries and crostinis were slightly overpriced. That said, the calamari was a great value. The $ 10 portion was more than enough for two people!

Another much needed break from being at the hospital with my Mom. Went with my sister for Happy Hour and it was Delicious! We had Goose’s Mule’s to start and followed by the Creamy Goat Cheese Crostini, with Thai Calamari and the Mac & Cheese. Everything was very tasty and the service was great! We got there right at 5pm and Happy Hour is till 7 pm. Found parking right in front and atmosphere was light and fun!

Solera is a truly a Spanish oasis on old Colfax Ave. They’ve done an amazing job transforming this location into a unique and memorable dining experience. While we came for the paella, we found many other items on the menu and wine list to enjoy. This would have been a five star review except for two things. First, the paella was very far from a traditional Spanish paella that should be served in a cast-iron pan. The Solera paella is very expensive for a small single serving plate which is very soup like and quite spicy. A traditional paella is much more firm rice like with seafood on top, not brothy. Second, the Top-40 music playing didn’t quite mesh with the atmosphere — how about some Flamenco?

So happy to have been recommended this place, AND it is close to my house! Had a really great dinner here over the weekend. They serve both small plates and entrees, and everything we had was excellent. First, their cocktails are really well made, wrath going here alone. We also ordered oysters and the mussels. The mussels were amazing, great broth. We also had the sliders and the duck confit, both very flavorful. I will say the service was not great the night we were there, but I think they were just short-staffed. They have a great outdoor deck, which I am looking forward to checking out this summer, as well as the rest of their menu. Highly recommend!

I tried a cocktail with egg and flower essence. It was too sweet and too strong for me. The flower flavor also made me feel like I was drinking something used for cleaning. I also tried the charcuterie with serrano ham, jamon iberico(personal favorite ham of mine ever since my trip to Barcelona, Span) and manchego cheese(among others I cannot remember). I liked that you were allowed to pick and choose which meats/cheeses you wanted for your board. What I ordered was not on the menu but was a dish that my friend had heard about: macaroni and cheese with asparagus and scallops. This was one of the best macaroni dishes I’ve ever had! Hands down delicious. I was too full to finish it but it made great leftovers. I also tried the banana bread pudding with banana ice cream and thought that it was really enjoyable. I’ve had better bread pudding but never banana bread pudding. They have an outdoor area that looked really cute/homey. It had recently rained when I came though so I wasn’t able to enjoy the outdoor space. I’d love to come back and try more of their seafood tapas.

I came here with friends for happy hour, and it was a good experience. The service was good, the atmosphere was nice, and the food was delicious. We got a variety of plates — the tuna tartar, mac & cheese, truffle fries, and a cheese and meat board, and everything was great(particularly the tuna). The main drawback is the cost. Even with the happy hour prices, it still ended up being over $ 30 per person for a few small plates(with drinks), which is a bit beyond my price range. I’ll probably come back again for happy hour, but the regular menu is a bit much for me.

An awesome place for freshly made authentic Spanish cuisine with a twist on few dishes. The chef speciality is fish. The calamari appetizer that we had was a bomb. The thai calamari was perfectly done. The calamari was not chewy it was consistently edible and the sauce was delicious. The main dish that I had was perfect it was called Solera Paella seafood made of mussels, clams, fresh fish, Spanish chorizo, saffron rice. The dessert were also delicious. This place was worth a trip. The weather was perfect so we sat outdoors and had a great time
