I just wanted to give kudos to this location, their staff is excellent. I usually see the same girls in the morning(I think their names are Maura and Vanessa…) anyways, those ladies always make my drinks perfect and with a smile! Which is key when you are not in the swing of things in the morning. I love the location adjoined to the REI and the view outside near the creek. Cheers!

Extremely friendly baristas! Cool location conveniently inside the biggest REI I’ve ever had the pleasure to experience. Ample indoor seating with cool old fashioned touches to match the history of this repurposed building. Wrap around patio that spans three sides of REI! Make sure to check out the historical photos on the REI adjacent wall inside this Starbucks. Lots of natural light to enjoy your coffee and read or just to relax after REI like we did.

[Out-of-Towner Review] Just about the biggest Starbucks I’ve been in! This little nugget of caffeinated heaven is perfectly located adjoining the flagship REI store. I would have never thought they’d go together, but it works. Especially as I was staring at the very familiar logo, across the way from Confluence Park. Bike riding left us thirsty, so we rode over the small bridge to get something refreshing. I normally know what I want at a Starbucks, it isn’t usually an issue. But today I didn’t want anything with coffee or soy milk. The only other drink I generally get, which would fit this description, would be a green tea. I wanted to be adventurous, but the only thing I wanted had Stevia, so I passed. This long winded explanation, is to highlight how awesome the Barista was in helping me decide what to get. I originally ordered just a plain iced green tea, but she said to try a lemonade green tea. She made sure to remind me that if I didn’t like it, they’d make me something else. She didn’t rush me, she didn’t make me feel awkward for being indecisive, and she was sweet. I probably was just another customer to her, but I appreciated her help! It tasted great, so I kept it. Along with a grande water, I left and sat outside, in one of their many options outside. Two sides of their store are flanked with outdoor seating, which is awesome because of the amazing views of the water and Confluence Park. I should not forget to mention how huge and airy this location is. You don’t feel like you are being herded through a coffee feeding line, but that you can enjoy a coffee shop like atmosphere. Maybe since the REI is two stories, the roof extends extra higher than most spots. Whatever the reason, it gives a great big and spacious feel, compared to their normal very generic locations! I like the vibe here, maybe the REI stylish hippies have something to do with it!

Our usual hang out spot after church. But I don’t know. Ever since some staff, the flavor of their mochas and lattes has gone downhill. Disappointing. We’ll keep going but they need to step it up.

Awesome having an incredible Starbucks inside even more of an amazing structure! The girls working here were great and honestly no complaints! There was a blonde that was as positive and wonderful as ever! Thank you!

$ 7.50 for a small bagel with plain cream cheese & a 15 oz. OJ? Geezus! Plus parking cost and hassle. Why is it that people come here? Oh to be «seen» in a trendy location, or because they can expense it I’m guessing. I knew Starbucks wasn’t inexpensive but damn, that price just about knocked me over! I applaud those who don’t find the prices exorbitant. I hope I get there some day as well.

I thought people were joking when they said the staff at this Starbucks sucked. By far the most unfriendly staff I’ve ever encountered. The drink I ordered was luke warm. When I politely asked if it could be heated up or remade, I was told«No, we can’t heat it up. It’ll be the exact same if we make it again.» They did not offer any other alternative solution, and just stopped talking to me. I don’t think the staff is allowed to smile either.

I love this Starbucks! Maybe it is the location, maybe it is the building, but is it not just an ordinary Starbucks. There is a special feeling in this one with the REI nearby and the creek there. I love it. The staff is friendly and if I get my Refresh tea and just sit a bit, I feel refreshed! I most certainly will go again and again. I like to walk down after going to Denver Brewing to get a tea or coffee and that makes for a great day.

This starbucks is gorgeous! Aside from being PACKED24⁄7 it’s one of the best. They have clover here so my husband loves to try new flavors. It takes a bit longer but I highly recommend trying it. If you can find a spot outside amongst all the cyclist it’s great for people watching. In the summer you can see the kayakers on the river.

So it’s a Starbucks. You know what you’re getting when you go here. I’ve been in here a couple of times, mainly as a stop on a bike ride, usually getting water, etc. However, yesterday, I actually stood in line to order a drink, and as per usual, I had a great experience at Starbucks. I stopped in after running in the Race for the Cure and my car was parked at REI. Since my glutes were still throbbing, the comfy outdoor couches were calling my name. I decided to stop, order a coffee and relax and people watch for a bit. Thankfully I was there early enough, I was able to snag a seat under the umbrella and relax. The couches are awesome and the expansive outdoor patio, overlooking the Platte River and Cherry Creek Trail is beautiful and a perfect space for people watching.

Walking from my front door to REI, I counted four Sbux. But this one is in REI and on the Platte. There’s a terrific patio/outdoor seating. You can watch people climbing rocks, kayaking, and biking. Tons of dogs to pet, too.

I often find myself having meetings here, it’s just a great location with a superb out door seating area and an REI attached to it. I like they way they remodeled for us iPad/Lap top carriers. Very comfortable, yet cozy enough for a few people to gather and actually conduct some business. Not too loud and a great place to people watch.

Been here several times either to meet a couple of friends, just chillin or after some retail therapy at REI Flagship Denver store. The staffs have been always helpful and nice. Sometimes during the«peak hours» this Starbucks is definitely jam packed to the Max! Time: 20:38hrs My recent visit was with J after our dinner on Saturday November 3rd2012. I had the Grande(16oz) Strawberries and Crème Frappuccino($ 4.25) and J had Tall(12oz) Hot White Chocolate($ 3.15). One thing I like to chill out at this Starbucks is when nearly the closing hours or even the early hours of opening. Meaning I have the whole store all for me. Hehehe *Evil Smile* We were among the last patrons having our beverages here. I dont mind returning when needed. STARBUCKS Store #6342 1416 Platte River Denver, CO80202 Tel:(303)-477−5445 @7/2013

Ever since their revamp, this Starbucks has definitely stepped it up. There are more places to sit inside and the outside furniture is surprisingly comfortable. The side tables now each have their own umbrellas so you can comfortably people watch without the sun being an issue. On the weekend this isn’t the Starbucks I’m going to hit up as there is a larger amount of people coming from REI. But in the middle of the day, the traffic is a little more reasonable. Can’t complain about having a Starbucks to purchase a beverage after an perusing the various wares that REI has to offer.

«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» to a t. WiFi was crappy, seating was tough to find(seating near an outlet is near impossible), and the cashier was painfully unfriendly. I think it might be great in the summer — the outdoor seating is AMAZING, and there are even water bowls for the pooches — but the inside is nothing special.

Unfortunately it attracts a failed experimental family phenomenon where young parents try to bridge a yuppie McDonald’s analogy by dragging in their tired, unhappy, screaming, crying children and ITDOESN’T WORK! There is no Piccolo Happy Latte w/biscotti & toy inside, no brightly colored playground, and unless you want to let them run the banks of the Platte River unsupervised, don’t bring them here! This is rightfully not a place your children will enjoy, nor will you or the other patrons if you bring them. Make other arrangements or stay outside where your kids can play.

What is better than a Starbucks attached to the biggest REI imaginable and adjacent to the Denver bike trail system? Nothing.

Attached to the REI flagship, this is the largest Starbucks I’ve seen. The indoor space alone is practically cavernous. They have BOOTHS for latte’s sake! Besides the size and attached outfitters, this is your standard Starbucks. Good staff, properly-made drinks and all that.

I frequent this Starbucks for the following reasons: 1. It is close to my house. 2. The wifi is fast and strong. 3. They know my face and seem to LOVE the fact that I ask for«room for booze» in my coffee. 4. The truly ridiculous amount of athletic, handsome spandex wrapped manmeat with amazing thighs and glutes to be leered at. The deck on the east side of the building facing the river is GREAT for a nice evening beverage and commiseration session. However, be warned! If you choose to sit at the first table, directly down the steps, the probability that you will leave with pigeon shit on you increases by 7000% as there is a weird metal bar jutting from the side of the building directly above the table. I speak from experience.

You’d think a starbucks connected to an REI would be Denverite nirvana. And maybe it is, because it’s always crowded. I dunno if it’s the size, or what but this bux is always crowded with a weird mix of highlands mommies with urban assault strollers, and work-from-homers who need a break. The patio is great for people watching when you can get a spot. Food and drink wise, well it’s a starbucks, so yeah it’s like every other one you’ve been to. Come for the REI, find coffee and relaxation, elsewhere.
