This is the worst Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life! Let me first start off by letting you know that I’m Mexican and I know what real good Mexican food tastes like and this place is disgusting! The meat has no flavor. We bought the steak and brisket tacos which were nothing to brag about. The brisket is not your typical brisket. The place was dirty & service was bad. They screwed up our simple order twice! We will not be back here again!

My mama bought us some lunch from here. First visit, we thoroughly enjoyed everything. Chicken enchilada plate, red sauce was a bit spicy. But still very flavorful they put lettuce and sour cream. The rice and beans fresh and hot. Carne asada torta, all elements pretty good. Seems like it needed some beans… or something a bit more to top it. Although I would order it again. We also had some yummy tacos. And I love the salsa bar! All being said, I’d definitely go back for a second visit to try a few more menu items.

Probably some of the best tacos I have ever eaten. A bunch of girls from work go here all the time and they invited me along. I got the carne asada and beef tongue tacos and they were amazing! I would definitely recommend eating here if you want some real and really good Mexican food!

This is the as real as tacos get in Denver! My father brought me here thinking that I’d hate the ambience since it’s a hole in the wall type place. I keep coming back! It is a very humble establishment but that adds to the charm. The steak tacos are amazing. The price is also very perfect!

Radical street tacos. Authentic Mexican food. I’ve been going to TacoMex for several years now and will continue to do so for years to come.

Their tacos al pastor are extremely good & fresh. I’ve always been picky about my menudo and it’s been hard to find a place that has the right one but this location is spot on. Never fails to satisfy me. And their carne asada fries are to die for.

Legit tacos. No idea why it’s so hard to get good Mexican food in Colorado, but this place has it.

Good Mexican fast food; Awesome for those nights when you went out to the bars or just want a taco and are close by. As a precaution I would recommend that customers take cash. I have come to this place and the card reader wasn’t working.

This place is great. Love going on the weekend and getting al pastor tacos from the tent out front. Their tacos outside are sold in orders of two, so ordering three is actually six. Epic salsa bar too! Not paying for atmosphere but that’s a small price to pay for delicious food like this.

This place certainly hit the spot the late Friday night/Saturday morning we stopped by. We loaded up on $ 1.25 tacos and humongous cups of horchata. It was a chilly night, and I kind of regret not ordering the caldo de res. The place is full of drunkies by 2. Whether you’re stopping in for a post-drinking taco run or coming in for lunch, it’s a good choice. It’s very comparable to the spots in LA. The cerviche was spot on and a good value at $ 5. The tacos had good flavors to them but nothing out of the ordinary. We didn’t know there are certain items that you order that you have to pick up yourself from the guy cooking it outside. It would’ve been helpful if one of the girls told us instead of having us sit there thinking they had forgotten part of our order. Come here if you want some legit Mexican food. That’s it.

One of my top go to places for over 5 years. Everything is great there and has consistent quality and taste! I love the chicken enchiladas and al pastor tacos that are cooked outside at night, they are amazing! The wait time is always fairly short and the staff is pretty friendly and helpful. Everyone should give this place a shot.

In search of the perfect al pastor tacos my friend and I decided to give this place a shot. I would give the al pastor a B maybe B+. The Carne Asada and Chorizo were both good as well. All in all a solid meal but nothing to rush back for. Good prices and love the salsa bar.

This place had some weird smell and I couldn’t figure out the line. It kept changing, so I left.

Hi my name is Nat and I have a Taco addiction. I am wavering between 3 and 4 stars. The tacos are the star attraction here. We had the Al Pastor– the winner, Carnitas, good, and Steak also good — tacos. For 1.25 $ a taco, I am very happy. Did I mention they are open till 12:30AM on a Tuesday night, have a small salsa bar, and a place for you to sit, hide, and glutinously eat cheap tacos. Really all these qualities make me happy, so 4 stars. We also had the beef(steak) flautas plate. Not the best, but tasty. The chopped steak was cut very small, and the filling was meager compared to other representations of this creature. The bean had good texture, but were very salty even for Mexican chow. Get the Al Pastor tacos, they put pineapple in them too, which is my favorite! A descent, affordable, and open late joint to eat your Mexi on.

I love their Tacos so much that this place has become a weekly stop for my friends and I in the evenings and in the mornings I get overly excited for their machaca breakfast burrito which is delicious and huge. Everything is reasonably, if not under-priced. The only item that I’ve had which I wasn’t thrilled with is the chile relleno, it was a bit mushy for my taste but my friends liked it so that might just have been me.

Was craving tacos so we decided to stop in here(they have plenty more than just tacos). From the outside, the place isn’t super appealing. On the inside… still not super appealing. A little dirty, a little smelly. Gave the following a shot: Pastor — GETTHESE! Huge flavor, don’t forget your pineapple Asada — dry, overcooked, no flavor, not even salt+pepper Lengua — the tongue was cooked well but missed seasoning Carnitas — hard to beat fried pork chunks, pretty good The prices here are hard to beat and it’s fast. I’d go back but take out rather than eat in next time. Staff was friendly and funny.

Breakfast all day. Caldo de res is a beef stew soup was tender and delicious. Tacos are now $ 1.25 and get the Cabeza(beef head) for some tasty mad cow disease.

Best Mexican food in my opinion in the area. Both me and my girlfriend are regulars there. We go at least once or twice a week. We always get the tripas tacos, and deviled shrimp. The enchiladas are always delicious. Recently started getting the chile relleno which is bomb! Highly recommended to try this place.

This is me and hubby’s «craving» «both agree» spot. No matter what if we are hungry once someone says Taco Mex we head straight there. We always leave a smile on our face. I always get three tacos which is actually 6 because they come with two corn tortillas each and plenty of meat. So you can basically make two out of one. I love the little side bar, we always get a few sides of the avocado sauce(the creamy green one). The Asada and Pastor tacos are our favorites, the Pastor is so full of flavor and the greatest texture! I usually only get one Pastor and 2 Asada because I’m a steak fan. Hubby gets 5 tacos and often we split a side of beans and rice. Their rice reminds me of my grandmothers and she’s been making hers since she was a child in Chihuahua Mexico. It’s a fast, good, inexpensive meal and we always leave happy. It’s really become«our spot» … I need to remember to check in more! We haven’t tried any of their combos yet, once you find something you love it’s hard to change. The only thing I would really prefer to see is a soda machine put in. They have individual cans of Coke and Pepsi. And the glass bottles of Coke(hubby’s favorite) but it would be most cost effective if they sprang for a soda machine.

By far since I’ve moved here from Los Angeles, Taco Mex might be the best here in denver. salsa is good, horchata is amazing, and they Dont have cheese in their burritos/tacos I’ve ordered the torta de asada recently and it was really tasty and satisfying.

Went here last night for«Taco Tuesday»… my taco cravings might be a little less easily ignored since this place is only 3 blocks from me. I like how there is someone outside cooking so you can see them preparing your order. The tacos are small but for me thats perfect so I can order a few different kinds. We got the chicken, fried pork, chicharon(sp?), street style… we got a bunch of flavors all I would order again. I like that they have a sauce bar. YOUMUSTTRYTHEAVOCADOSAUCE! It’s the light green and creamy looking one. The onions are also super tasty! and the pineapple juice OMG! DELICIOUS! The atmosphere is nothing fancy but very cozy. It’s dated but not dirty. We laughed with the staff over our lack of spanish speaking/understanding abilities. Luckily they also have the tacos listed in English. Think a taco truck street style only TacoMex has more menu options and indoor seating. They also have a few outdoor tables. I’ll be back! The only thing keeping them from my 5th star is no beer!

Sadly disappointing. After seeing so many positive reviews, I had hoped for more. Decent selection of combinations, seafood options and tons of meat options for the tacos. Unfortunately it was the execution that fell short. Chile had no flavor. Pastor was fatty, chewy and nowhere near tender. Salsa bar was typical of most taco stands up and down Colfax. While it isn’t the worst I’ve ever had, I definitely won’t be back when there are much better options within a few blocks either direction.

I decided to try this local dive out and find that it’s a definite favorite of the Hispanic Community on Colfax. That’s always a good sign when it’s packed with locals on a Saturday around 6pm. I tried the Tacos al pastor, lengua, and buche. I was very pleased with all of them. The tacos are $ 1.25 each, not 99 cents. They were worth every penny. The horchata tastes homemade, probably because they use condensed milk and not the gross powder. The salsa bar is ample and you can even take your own pineapple to go with your al pastor tacos. I will definitely be frequenting this place again.

I’ve driven by several times, and always noticed the white building with red trim wondering if it was any good. I was hoping it would be. I got the chance to stop in today, taking a break from house work. I tried the chorizo tacos and my husband tried the asada. I they were both good. My mom was really happy with her relleno, and my dad said the posole was the best he’s ever had. They were also fans of the horchata. My step-sons had no complaints about the hamburguesas. All in all, it was good experience, we’ll be back.

Tacos al Pastor, oh my! This place was highly recommended to me, and my awesome friend took me there for lunch today, and man, I was not disappointed. The tacos al pastor were delicious before I smothered them in their green cilantro sauce. How delicious was this place? Next time I’m going to try the tacos with tongue, head meat and all of the other strange things on the menu. That’s not something I do often, but if they can do pastor up this well, I will give them the benefit of the doubt about the rest. And, the horchata? This is not that disgusting powder mixed with milk and water crap you get at a lot of places. This was one of the tastiest, sweetest little drinks I’ve ever had. Haha, did I say little? The large is, as I quote my lunch partner, bigger than your head. Cheap prices, fantastic food, great salsa bar and amazing company… I can’t wait to try so much more.
