An absolutely darling shop that feels as if it belongs in Paris. The shop owner, a charming botanist, stocks her store with very reasonably priced vintage botanical prints, old books, lace and embroidery, shadowboxes, antique pinned butterfly displays and much, much more. Many items were purchased during the shop owner’s trips to Europe, specifically France, and brought back to be displayed and sold at The Apiary. In addition to antiques, the owner creates dried flower arrangements and when we popped in this weekend she was creating a custom shadowbox to display someones wedding photos.

The Apiary is a small antique store my mom and I happened upon this weekend. We were greeted by the store owner who was friendly and talked to us about her business. She said she’d owned her shop for 38 years and enjoyed traveling to France to find things for her store. She had a nice selection of beautiful hand made laces and satin ribbon she had brought back on one of her many trips. There were also beautiful linens and delicately embroidered items. I could have bought everything! There were dried flowers hanging from the ceiling — the owner is also a botanist and specializes in dried floral arrangements. The floral aroma was wonderful and added to the Parisian feel of the store. It was such a unique shopping experience and the owner only made it more pleasant. Stepping into The Apiary is like stepping into Paris, France — a truly wonderful store to visit.
