The best optometrist I have ever been to. I always feel welcomed, and their selection of glasses is wonderful. However, the most significant thing is how Dr. Torrey always take the time to answer all of my questions, (which is a feat in itself!) I never feel like I am rushed out of the office. They are professional and knowledgeable and I highly recommend The Bent Lense.

Dr. Torrey and staff are wonderful! I live downtown and wanted a place I could walk to, that had great frames to choose from, and that would be covered by my insurance. Dr. Torrey takes the time to explain everything, from insurance to deciding what contact brand to use.

First I just have to say that Dr. Torrey’s place has the best selection of frames around. It is a great place to find really unique lenses. My husband has a horrible time finding frames that work well with his face and Dr. Torrey has an instinct for the fitting the frame to his face and has picked out awesome and unique frames that my husband loves.
Frames aside Dr Torrey is extremely patient and caring during eye exams. We bring in the whole family for checkups and our kids actually enjoy their trips to his office. (OK, the location in Larimer helps!) Thanks Dr. Torrey!

The Bent Lens is the best place in Denver go anything eye-​related. The staff is beyond friendly and super helpful. The thing I enjoy most about them is they let you try a trial pair of contacts before committing to buying boxes of them. I will continue to use them and refer friends and family to The Bent Lens. And their location in downtown Denver Larimer Square is super convenient too!

I’ve been going to the bent lens for 3 – 4 years now. Dr. Torrey explains everything he does very clearly (scientific and insurance related). I’ve never had to wait once arriving for my appointment, and there has never been a problem scheduling.
In addition to everything being great, Dr. Torrey plays the best music of any eye doctor in town!

Got glasses fixed in Minutes humble staff especially that I’m from NY. Went in with a broken pair two other places said it wasn’t fixable. I went there. 10mins $ 10 bucks I was back in business they restrained my glasses And recommend a place for me grab brunch at. Thanks guys

I’ve been coming here for about a year and a half now and they are always quick and so helpful. Also, they always let me know up front what prices will be and how I can save the most or get the best deal. Love this place!

The Bent Lens is still amazing. They estimated my glasses would be ready in a week and a half. On day 8 I called to see what day I should plan to be there and alas they are done before the projected time frame! (Day 9)
Not only this, but Linda at the front desk recognized me by my name and is just so on top of everything. Those kinds of things exceed any expectation I have for a medical facility.

I’ve been wearing contacts for well over 10 years, but this has been the best eye doctor experience I’ve had. Dr. Torrey really explains everything out, which I find fascinating. He’s incredibly fairly priced, and is very patient. I’ve been trialing different contacts for about a month and a half now, and he just wants me to get the ones that work the best for me.
A great experience overall!

I’ve been wearing contacts for 10+ yrs, and Dr Torrey taught me more about my eyes in my first exam than I’d learned in all my prior exams.
Instead of upselling me on contacts, he explained differences between my options (turned out to be little in my case) and ultimately suggested that I go with the least expensive. Didn’t expect this!
Also:
— Didn’t have to wait to see him, wasn’t put on hold on the phone
— They were prepared with my insurance info (VSP) ahead of time
— Exam room was immaculate — not even water spots on the sink
— Great hours & location for downtown patients

Todd is a wonderful doctor. He is very friendly and gives helpful patient education including rationale for exam components and anatomy of eye where necessary.
Re: glasses, he gave me options for upgrades but didn’t upsell me. He even encouraged me to skip certain upgrades for my Rx. He helped me pick out frames as well. Other staff were nice. Not snobby or overpriced which I am happy to see in Larimer square!

Hands down best optical visit ever. I’ve tried 3 other doctors and Dr. Todd Torrey is absolutely the best. He’s very easy going and friendly but his table side manners and the way he explains everything is very comforting.
I’m quite picky about frames and I was in between 5 or 6 to decide from. Todd would help by getting an idea of what I was looking for and bring me frames to help in my selection. I ended up buying the Smith Alchemist and love it! Todd made sure the fit was perfect by heating and changing the ‘core’ of the frame to fit my face best.
I was also fit for contacts and the first pair didn’t feel right so the same day he gave me another pair to try which ended up saving me $ 7.00 per box.
I am very pleased to say The Bent Lens will be my optical choice for a long time.

I am a former patient of Dr. Torrey’s. I recently switched eye doctors because I felt that there was no resolution to why my contacts were not fitting properly, hurting my eyes and overall making my life miserable! I felt like there were no real answers to why this was happening. During my first appt with the new doctor and giving him all the information of what was going on with my eyes and contacts, he diagnosed me with GPC within 3 minutes. I’m just confused why, with all the symptoms I gave Dr. Torrey that he could not diagnose the problem. So, contact fitting after fitting, I finally got the help I needed 3 months later from someone else. This included getting steroid drops for my eyes (2 weeks of applying 4x a day!), not being able to wear contacts for a month. I wish I could have known about this months ago!

Let me preface this by saying that I do not wear contacts, and I do not wear glasses.
So why did I go to an eye doctor? Because I signed up for eye insurance for the first time this year, and thought that I should use it. I always see stories on the news/​internet about all the diseases that ophthalmologists can detect by looking at your eyes.
So I hunkered down and found a place close to my work. The Bent Lens has great hours, especially if you work in/​around the downtown area. It also has a great location, smack dab in the middle of Larimer Square.
Dr. Torrey is wonderful. He makes the whole process of an eye exam super easy (and super fast). He explains every step that he’s doing so that you know what kind of weird things he is doing to your eyes. He doesn’t try to sell you stuff you don’t need, which is very relaxing and put me at ease.
I walked out happy and tranquil (which typically doesn’t happen when leaving the doctor). My peepers feel great, and I can gladly say that I don’t have any of those weird eye diseases they always talk about on TV (glaucoma, hypertension, herpes of the eye? No thank you).

I just picked up my second pair of eyeglasses here, and I can’t recommend Bent Lens enough.
They carry many different styles, and the brands you see here are unique to their store. I looked at those online sites that promise to find you the right pair, but I wasn’t impressed by the quality or the limited selection.
Trust me when I say that Linda will find the perfect frame that suits you and only you. I had tried on a pair of Seraphin frames in a brown color and thought they looked ok but wasn’t 100% sure. Linda ordered them in another color for me to try out just in case. She was right once again, as she helped me pick my FIRST pair 2 years ago. I have had so many compliments on my new glasses, all thanks to her great eye (no pun intended.)
Dr. Todd did an eye exam for me, so my prescription was updated and he explained every step in detail. He told me my glasses might take about 7 days, and they were ready in 4. I had my exam on a Saturday morning and they came back from the lab on Thursday.
You can’t beat the personal service and great selection of eyeglasses as well as sunglasses. Check them out for your next pair!

Everyone sure is right about the customer service. I walked in hoping to get an eye exam, but since they were appointment only, the store gave me a sample to hold me over until my exam.
Dr. Torrey was just fantastic and the exam was painless and fast.

Get all your optical needs here! I don’t know about you, but I’m not incredibly fond of other people near my eyes. Dr. Torrey and front man, Brad, really made me feel at ease. They have an AWESOME selection of spectacles from sleek and modern to ultra funky and hip.
I went in one day to look around and found a great pair. By they time I went back for my appointment, the glasses had already been sold. NO PROBLEM, they ordered a new pair and I was able to choose the color of my liking.
Super friendly and great at what they do! :)

Going to the eye doctor has never been easier! I just told Dr. Torrey that my insurance was VSP and filled out one page of information and I was good to go.
Throughout the exam he explained what every procedure was for and how my eyes were according to the test. After the exam he set me up with four boxes of contacts and didn’t try to upsell me glasses or anything. Easy, low pressure, high quality eye care.
