I’ve come here for FREE stand-up comedy(Every Weds @10:30pm) & one time I came for free cereal and some comedians speaking to classic cartoons in the style of MST3K. I enjoy it… I’m never really sure when the events are, but I’ve seen them posted on Reddit & Deer Pile’s facebook page. They have PBR cans for donation, so yes, you can find drinks here! This is on 13th, above City O’ City. There’s a door with a yoga studio sign around the corner. Go through that door and up the stairs. GENDER-FRIENDLINESS: Yes. This environment seems pretty alternative, liberal, & open-minded. The bathrooms are indeed gendered, but I highly doubt people would give you shit… And if they did and you corrected them, they’d probably apologize and buy you a PBR. DISABILITY-FRIENDLINESS: Noooope. If you have trouble with stairs, you’ll be disappointed to find like 30 of them eagerly awaiting you as you open the door to the entrance. IF you happen to get upstairs, you’ll find a small bathroom with even smaller stalls. The room in which the events are held is smallish, but to get a place to sit, you might just plan to come early & move some chairs around accordingly.

The Deer Pile is a room… hidden atop City-O-City. Its actually a venue… a place to hear music, watch comedy and in our case, attend a story-telling event. It feels like it holds about 50 – 75 people safely, its hot and intimate and it has a stage… I checked out the pics posted there on Instagram and it appears to be also the home of weddings, school events etc. The most notable thing is the mural of a deer menage a trois behind the stage, featuring two stags and a doe… its a very inclusive space as well I gather!
