This plant store feels like the greatest home on earth.
Dennis, the owner, was super friendly, super nice and very very helpful. He even pop-​quizzed me on a plant name as I walked out the door because I had to ask him a few times. We had a nice chat about how plants are like pets, which they totally are. I never understood how people who couldn’t keep a plant alive could go on and get a puppy. Sigh.
There are so many plants to choose from, ranging from tiny cute succulents to Fiddley trees to cactuses and more.
I got a snake leaf plant, which clears toxins from the air, and a burle max plant. Very happy and will go back!

With the reviews we saw on Unilocal,we were expecting a little better atmosphere. There’s a variety of succulents and house plants, but none of them stood out to us. Walk area is hard to navigate through with all the plants in the way and cleanliness was okay with a couple of flies hovering our heads. Please do check it out for yourself though, I’m all in favor of supporting small businesses and everyone experiencing it for themselves! :)

Cute shop, mostly succulents and house plants no herbs. Was closed when I arrived but the owner (?) showed up quickly and then ignored us the rest of the time we walked around this strange little shop.

Time for a bit honesty — I am a plant nerd. Not the kind you usually meet on the street, I’m a collector. I once easily had a collection of 500 or more plants in my home, I was the president of a plant society, judged in plant competitions (yes — it’s a thing), and won ribbons from exhibiting my own plants. You have met a true plant nerd, me!
Any store selling plants already has my heart, but The Herbery has the upper hand because he offers a larger variety of cacti and succulents and they have always been my favorite. The store is additionally stocked full of wonderful house plants, flowering African Violets, ferns, pots of all sizes and so much more. I loved perusing the store looking for that plant that needed to come home with me, and I actually found three.
The man working there is informative and very friendly, we ended up chatting quite a bit while I was checking out. He gets new shipments of plants in all the time so his variety is constantly changing, more visits for me to make. His prices can range from reasonable to a little high based on my experience. I found some of the basic house plants to be slightly overpriced for the value.
I’m not nearly the collector I used to be but I still have the love for anything green, anything that flowers, and anything that smells pretty. The Herbery is my happy place and someplace that will always make me smile.

Green, green everywhere. If you like whimsy and small, confined spaces with surprises around every corner, then this is your hang out.
How the owner, a very, very chill and informative dude, managed to fit a vehicle in the tiny, cozy place — baffles me. But it’s there. A red car in the back… just hanging out amongst lively and wild foliage that surrounds you in every direction.
Pots, succulents, ferns — he’s got them. And seems to receive new plants on the weekly. So, I’d recommend popping in more than once if you are really looking into investing in a permanent house plant to adorn your living room.
The owner really does know his herbery. In fact, he was casually naming plants by their kingdom, species, genus, and family (or however that goes) like I knew exactly what he was talking about. You can tell he really loves what he does and loves selling his plants to a happy owner even more.
Parking is tough, but once you step foot inside you’re enveloped in another world!

Great place. Chatted it up with Dennis, the shop owner, for 30 mins or so. He is incredibly knowledgeable and has a great selection. Prices are cheap too. Great guy, great place. Highly recommend!

I was on my way to Safeway to pick up some flowers for my room and accidentally stumbled upon The Herbery. I am so grateful for that! The store is filled with indoor plants from all over the place and a huge selection of pottery and miscellaneous gifts. My plant/​pot combination cost me about $ 25 which was very reasonable, I thought. The owner, Dennis, and I spoke for about 45 minutes about plants and current events. I will never buy plants anywhere else!

Nice little shop on 6^th. The owner is a super nice guy and pleasant to chat with. The selection of plants, pots, and related stuff is pretty great for a small space and the prices are very fair. I’ll definitely go back.

The herbery is a magical little plant sanctum! Dennis, the owner, has been in the business for over 40 years. He is very kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and passionate about plants. He is very pleasant to talk with– concerning plant-​related questions, the cosmos, shamanism, & a wide-​variety of topics. His plants are unique and well cared for. All of the pottery is hand-​made and hand-​picked by Dennis. I have been coming here for a little over a year… my experiences have always been delightful and my plants have never been happier! You will not find better quality plants or pots at a better price :]

Even after I read the great reviews, it still exceeded my expectations. I must have spoken to Dennis for 30 minutes or more, I walked out knowing this will be my one and only plant store.
The quality of plants is great, (I think I bought 5) and Dennis is willing to answer any and all questions. Even though the shop looks small, the variety is wide.
If you’re looking for plants in good condition that seem just a little more interesting, definitely stop by and see Dennis.

Denis the shop owner has been in Denver for about 40 years doing his green thumb thang. He’s extremely knowledgable about all the plants (and about Denver). Helpful as well. Great prices, healthy plants, a unique experience.

I have driven by this little shop numerous times and felt very drawn to the awesome succulents in its windows!
Finally, there was a day I finished up with my workload kinda early and decided to take a detour into this shop.
The Herbery has a plethora of succulents (my favorite!) and I could tell a kindred spirit owned the shop. He really is knowledgeable, friendly and honest. For example, he told me the Mexican Black Rose can be difficult to maintain… I ended up taking my chances with that one, though, just because it’s so darn pretty, haha. I also left with a «The Old Man from Mexico» cactus — it really does look like an old gentleman with its wisps of white «hair.» I will be going back here for my fix of succulents, jungle plants and cacti. I think he may be more knowledgeable about succulents, than some of the folks who work at nurseries that I’ve been to.
Serious fan!

Cute little storefront on a busy stretch of 6^th Ave. I stopped by here in search of mini succulents to replace the ones I previously killed. The store is chock full of various houseplants, pots, books, kitsch, and quirky decorations (like a car!?). Small, but well curated selection of plants (including succulents) and completely reasonable prices. I’d much rather shop at this place than give my money to the «man» at the big box stores. Owner was very friendly and passionate about his shop.
Parking is available right in front of the store (2 pull-​up spaces) or on the side streets.

Found this gem of a store after searching for garden shops in Denver. My friend and I checked it out today and we’re both glad we did. I’ve been so excited to start growing plants to spruce up my apartment. I bought an itty bitty Hypoestes ‘polka dot’ plant (so cute!) and English thyme to start off. The owner was definitely knowledgeable and the shop is so quaint and chalk full of plants everywhere. I’ll definitely be back soon.

This is an awesome plant store. It is small and quaint but with lots of beautiful plants and a knowlegable owner. If you are tired of seeing the same old plants in the big box stores, go to the herbery. If you are a plant lover (or even a plant liker) this is the place to go. You will not be dissapointed.

Based on the name, one might think that this establishment is just another enterprise seeking to exploit the unregulated growth of the marijuana dispensary industry here in Denver. Buy really, it’s just a plant store. And an awesome one at that.
The dude inside is like the Yoda of plant life, and if you use your imagination and pretend like the place is fogged up, it might even feel like you’re in Dagobah. Regardless, the force is very strong in this little storefront on 6^th and Clarkson.
The owner was very knowledgeable about plants (at least to this amateur). Also, you could sense the enthusiasm he had for all his little friends. Plus he was upfront with me. He told me that it will be very difficult to take care of my beautiful new Alocasia Polly given that it’s a tropical plant and needs humidity and moisture, something that Colorado is obviously lacking. He used to carry them and now he doesn’t because they don’t keep well. Although he did have some other tropical plants which were very beautiful.
At the end of the day, I walked out with a couple of new plants for my apartment, low maintenance and good for the dry weather here in CO. Going forward, any time I need to get some plants, I’m coming to Master Yoda.

Well I’ve always spotted this place out every time I’m heading up to Dazbog and have always wanted to stop by to buy some plants. Today, I did just that. I moved into an apartment with lots of sunlight and wanted to somewhat fill it with some little green buddies so I checked this place out.
First off, the owner is extremely knowledgable about his plants. I pointed to different ones and he rattled off the names. I bought a HUGE pothos for $ 15, I’m talking about bigger than the ones you see at, say, Queen Soopers, full and healthy! This is the plant that you can’t kill. I bought a tiny pothos called Snow White because of the leaves, for $ 5.
The store contains all sorts of plants, pots, incense and plant chimes, yes plant chimes for $ 9.
