MUSTTRY! AMAZING food & customer service! I came in town for work, and just wanted something quick since it was so close to my hotel. Holy moley — like the previous reviewer Danielle — I came back 3 days in a row and twice per day for 2 of the days(would have been 3 days but didn’t realize it closed at 8p). :) The food was BEYOND delicious, and that the ingredients are natural and fresh, won me over instantly!!! I had the salad, which was very flavorful. And the chicken sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had — it was well seasoned. So if you are used to or prefer bland food — this is not for you. The staff is SUPER friendly, especially the manager(I think) who was just coming into work(purse still on shoulders), saw that I was looking for the garbage and took my tray and asked if I was okay and wished me well!

Great place to eat on the 16th St mall, wish they were located in other states. Delicious fresh food with tasty fountain drinks. Customer service was great and the fact that you can rate your experience on the way out was unique. The salad had mini grilled cheese croutons in it-amazing. Recommend it for anyone:)

Grilled cheese is one of my favorite foods! I’m not a harsh critic, give me cheese and I’ll be happy. I came here while waiting to check into my hotel for the night. I ordered a grilled cheese with Mac and cheese inside. I didn’t know the orders come with a pickle, I would’ve asked for them to refrain. Either way, the sandwich was extremely salty. The spices on the bread were what I tasted, not the cheese. I was very hungry, so it was«decent», but I’ll never go here when I’m in town again.

Meal ordered: One Italian Job sandwich. Pros: 1) The restaurant is bright, clean, and for the limited options there’s still good variety of burgers and sandwiches. 2) The staff were very polite and helpful. Cons: 1) This is my second time eating a sandwich at The Melt. Both sandwiches were extremely salty. Summary: I will have to try something other than a sandwich before calling it quits on this place.

We decided to pick The Melt to have lunch while in downtown Denver at the 16th Street Mall & who doesn’t like cheese! My husband had a burger & fries. I had the Steak & Cheese. We split a side of Mac & Cheese. I really liked this place & my sandwich was excellent! My husband said his burger was good but on the small side. The fries were nice & crisp & the mac & cheese was good. All in all we enjoyed our lunch & was glad we tried it. The price was very reasonable.

oh my my my. This place was great! I was in town for work and I came here 3 days in a row. I had the classic mac twice and a grilled cheese with tomato the last time. I also tried the cherry soda and a cookie shake. The grilled cheese was so good I didn’t want the experience to end. We need to open one of these in Michigan ASAP!

Great meal and hospitality! Candy made a cold dreary Denver night yummy and comforting! Stop in and be treated like family.

This place was crowded and the service was absurdly slow… It’s almost as if they didn’t know they would be serving burgers that day. Two stars are for the tasty french fries but this was hands down one of the worst burgers I have ever had. The burger was dry, mealy and barely cooked(I know some like it that way but I asked for a bit more heat on mine and except for the surface there was zero cooked meat to be seen, all pink) and bun was sesame seed overload. We will not be back.

I really went back and forth between 2 and 3 stars. I’ve passed this place several times and finally got to try it out. Sometimes a good grilled cheese just hits the spot, and that’s what I was hoping for. Like other Unilocalers stated, they are more in the pricey end. About $ 11 for a normal grilled cheese, fries and a drink. The fries were fresh and hot, but the grilled cheese was just meh. Nothing special. For a place called The Melt, I certainly had higher hopes. I ended up going with a two star rating because the staff wasn’t exceptionally warm, and whoever made the tea made it extremely weak, it was just like tinted water. The shake that we ordered to go didn’t tasty like any«real» shake I’ve ever had. So it ended up being thrown out. I’m glad I finally tried this place, but I doubt I’ll be back.

Was wandering through the 16th Street Mall with a buddy after the Broncos parade, and realized we were hungry. Right as we did, we walked by The Melt, and decided to head in. A solid choice to do so. We were greeted by a friendly, smiling staff member who gave us a heads up on special meal deals and gave us a rundown on what their place was all about. I ordered a cheeseburger and their naked fries. Burger was juicy and tasty on a unique bun, and fries were very hot(freshly cooked, love that), and crunchy. I have a soft-spot for crunchy fries, and they hit the spot with some unique seasonings. I like how they get your initials at the end of your order, and then have a screen showing whose order was up, and when your order was to be ready. Seems their soda fountain wasn’t working at the time, but they gave me a small plastic cup for water. Overall a pretty good meal.

Came here with my girl squad after the Broncos parade yesterday(SUPERBOWL50CHAMPSBABY). As you can imagine, all of Denver was in complete and utter chaos because over a million people came to watch the parade. We were walking along 16th and needed to eat before we continued celebrating and it was so crowded we had to just settle for ANY restaurant that didn’t have a line OUT the door. The Melt was still really busy, there was probably 15 people in front of us, plus an additional 20 minutes to actually get our food. I will say the staff is a well-oiled machine and were great at handling the overflow of customers. I got the bacon bbq burger and it hit the spot. It wasn’t too big but it was still filling and really tasty. Next time I gotta get a milkshake too! I was so parched from walking all day and yelling«HIPEYTON! HIELWAY!!! HIDT!!!» I was desperate for a coca cola. they only have healthy sodas! So remember that if your a gluttonous coca cola addict like I sometimes can be. «Cane Soda» is just isn’t the same. But I can’t hate on them for that Lol.

I don’t venture downtown often, but I was already there so I figured I’d stop in. The bacon was excellent and much bigger than my burger. The burger was fine, nothing jumped out. The we’ll dresses fries were better than expected, but at 4 bux were pricey. Be carful on drinks, very limited. Cola, root beer, lemon lime, and black cherry cola. All natural, but limited. If I was near I might go again, but certainly not a destination.

I came here for a Unilocal event and liked it so much I brought the hubs back. We came after a movie for a light lunch. I love the philosophy of the business which is to eat out and not walk away feeling overly full and bloated. They use fresh ingredients and take the approach of using foods you would literally find at Whole Foods. I feel like you have to know this before walking in. The burgers are smaller and about $ 7 a piece. But notice when you are done that you are full and don’t feel sick from a greasy over sized burger. I went for the jalepeno and avocado burger with sweet potato fries. The hubs went for the mushroom burger with regular fries. Both were tasty and we both like that the burgers are cooked medium the way a burger should be.

Came here for the Unilocal elite last week and had a fabulous time! My friend and I definitely had a five star experience and I can hardly wait to come back with the hubs. This place is a great fast casual dining experience. The food is tasty and quick; however if you are expecting a super gourmet experience this is not the place to come. The ingredients are fresh but definitely greasy. We ordered the Mack daddy and the jalapeño burger — both delish. The grilled cheese are a different twist as they are stuffed with Mac n Cheese(maybe not the most healthy but a definite treat!). We also ordered the sweet potato fries which were shoestring style and nice and crispy! Finally I ordered the snickerdoodle shake — suggestion from the cashier. So glad I did! It was delish! Please do yourself a favor and order one! The place is clean and the staff is fabulous. There is definitely an air of efficiency which you find in most fast casual places. The staff was super friendly and eager to please — which was awesome when trying to figure out what to order. I will definitely be back as I want the hubs to get the jalapeño burger — he loves spicy. Great job guys! Can’t wait to come in again :)

I was fortunate enough to attend an Elite event here with the hubs. I’ve got somewhat mixed feelings about this place, but hubby will be a frequent visitor. I had the original burger with mac/cheese. I like to try you basic burger at first because if that’s done good, you know everything else would fantastic. I was a bit let down with my burger being too pink, actually was basically rare all the way through and when I bit into it, I could feel the mushy rawness texture. Hub’s burger though was perfect. Here goes: mac/cheese — pretty tasty sweet potato fries — nice and fluffy on the inside, really good My original burger — I could only take 2 bites, but needed to spit it out in my napkin. It was raw meat. Hubby’s original burger — cooked to perfection medium wine — Well it’s alcohol, so nothing bad about that. I do like how it’s an open kitchen and you can watch them cook your food. Next time I think I’ll try the grilled cheese. But honestly I hate saying this because it was free, but I was not impressed with this place with what I had. I’m a burger girl and maybe I should’ve taken it back or got something else, but I was a bit nauseous of the raw meat by then.

I visited The Melt for a Unilocal Elite event. Food and drinks were comp’d. So there’s that. However, the menu prices seemed to be very reasonable, especially considering the preponderance of over-priced gourmet burger joints that have taken over the Downtown Denver food scene. I ordered the Spicy Mission burger, Trio Mac and Cheese, and the Well-Dressed fries. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium temperature. The bun, I was told, is hand made. I believe the ingredients are all locally sourced and do not contain added sugars and preservatives. Which makes the reasonable prices all the more impressive. The Trio Mac and Cheese and fries were both amazing! I don’t remember what kind of cheeses were used in each, but I loved them. My wife got the Mac and Cheese and bacon sandwich. Yup. Mac and Cheese in a sandwich with bacon. I think she won this time. She also ordered a milk shake, which was delicious, thick, and not too sweet. My only suggestion was that we needed a thicker straw to make it easier to drink. I will definitely be back to The Melt.

I don’t usually go to quick service places — but this deserves an exception. I got a chance to talk to the woman who sources a lot of the ingredients here, and I was really impressed by their commitment to sourcing good ingredients(such as hormone-free, all-natural beef). It’s much more of a value-driven company than you might think at first glance, and good ingredients and treating employees well are things I really appreciate. DO: Get an awesome spicy burger and smothered fries(with cheese and bacon) — or a mac & cheese & bacon sandwich with a tomato bisque. Both are absolutely delicious — but they also don’t make you feel 10 pounds heavier afterwards and like you want to take an enormous nap. So it’s a perfect lunch-time spot when you know you have to go back to work. Oh, and there’s beer and wine! I’m a big fan of the wine they’ve selected. It’s not a huge selection, but it’s good. DON’T: Come in here expecting your typical triple-decker burger that’s bigger than your face. Or any Pepsi/Coke(they only have drinks that don’t contain syrup — and good for them).

This is a great fast casual place for yummy, hot food… specializing in grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, and soups. In other words, perfect foods for this time of year! We tried a bacon cheeseburger w/avocado, and everything was delicious and fresh. They said they use all natural and high quality ingredients(for example, no high fructose corn syrup in anything). The«loaded» fries are the bomb! They’re rich, gooey, tasty and really go well with the burger. This is the perfect place on the 16th St. mall for a quick lunch or pre-happy hour munchies. They serve a nice selection of local Colorado microbrews in cans, so you can even start your happy hour a little early! It’s also worth noting they’ve integrated technology nicely. There’s an ipad near the front door where you can key in your order, presumably so it’s ready when you reach the front of line… avoiding the kind of double wait like a lot of other fast casual places. Definitely two thumbs up, and worth a try!

Making it to Elite events in Denver has been on my bucket list since day 1, and has also been the toughest task of my life, to date(still have yet to go to one since 5/15/14!!!). When I saw the Elite calendar, I saw this place on there. Since I knew I would miss the event, I wanted to know what in the hell I would be missing out on. Elites– I will tell you this– I think you are in for a treat– I know I am envious! I saw there was a location on 16th St. Awesome! I can walk to the shuttle bus, pick up food to go, and head back home! I first went to their website, to see if they had a menu. I then learned how they use technology to order your food, and they can fire the order when you either A) arrive B) anytime you want it(if your timing is decent). The menu is very detailed online, offering a picture for EACH item. Very helpful. When I saw how the cheese was on the buns, I kind of had love at first site. So, I ordered a bunch of shit for my roommate and I, and proceeded to arrive. When I put my order in, they gave me a «QR» scan code. When I walked in, they had an iPad, that scanned the code. It made a beeping noise, and I proceeded to sit at a table, until my food was ready. The place was empty, so it came up fast. They had a TV screen which showed if your food was ready or not. I then got dirty looks from every homeless person on 16th street as I exited with 2 brown doggy bags. Mind you, I ordered a lot of stuff for 2 people. I told my roommate I was home with food. He was pissed when he came home to 2 empty bags. Oops. This place has something special going for it. Great concept, great customer service. Now, I just need to get off my lazy butt more often.

My mother-in-law, brother-in-law, & myself received a free combo to test the food at the grand opening. Mom had an original burger with well dressed fries, Brother got the Mac Daddy; Mac & Cheese sandwich also with well dressed fries, and I had a lettuce wrapped Spicy Mission burger with no cheese and a side salad. AMAZINGFLAVORS!!! Top notch burger bar here on 16th street. Highly recommended!
