I recently went and saw a comedy show here. I did actually enjoy the theater being a smaller size. It was more cozy then lets say Belco, which is huge compared to this. It felt more like a intimate viewing experience instead of just watching someone from really far away. A few notes… The downfall there’s only 3 stalls in the women’s bathroom, and it’s upstairs oddly. The seats are comfortable but there’s not a lot of leg room and they are close together. If you’re a larger person this might not be comfortable at all.

Historic, interesting, unique venue smack dab in the middle of 16th street mall in Downtown Denver. The décor is classically beautiful but there’s holes and gouges all over the ceilings and walls and it makes you wonder if they’ll ever actually restore the place to its former glory. Deceivingly small place and actually kind of hard to describe. The place says it sits 1800 or so people and looks like it might fit a lot more than that, but as soon as your butt hits a seat there’s a good chance your latent claustrophobia kicks in. Seats are narrow even for a ‘normal-sized’ human but if you’ve got a little meat on your bones you’re bound to be stuck to those uncomfortable chairs for a few hours. Your butt will hurt, you’ll sweat more than you’re comfortable sweating, and you’ll get to know the stranger to your right or left extremely quickly whether that was your intent or not. I’m talking full-on thigh-to-thigh contact. You know that annoying moment on an airplane where you’re trying to share the arm rest equally but since it’s so small you end up either giving up or being frustrated the whole time. This is that exact scenario but on steroids. Also, don’t use the bathrooms upstairs. When there’s a line out the men’s bathroom you know there’s an issue. Go down to the basement bathrooms if you’ve broken the seal after spending $ 10+ on your adult beverages. It’s a neat venue in theory and a lot of big acts roll through here, but I end up leaving unimpressed every time.

This place is a classic venue. It’s beautiful, and part of the joy of seeing any performance here is just being in the space itself. The Paramount itself is awesome. However. I am a very tall lady. Those seats are built for peasants of the 1600’s – my knees crush into whoever is in front of me, no matter how much I try to squinch in there. Dudes putting their arms around their ladies will have to rest their arms on my knees. It has happened a couple times before, and it’s weird for everyone. Also, this place consistently smells like farts. At first, I thought it was just that one show I went to. But it always smells like farts, and it always smells like the same fart. And that fart aint mine. So, there’s that. Be ready to pay a lot for not great drinks – but you’re here, so why not? Drink up.

Ahh January 13th of 2015 I stumbled upon getting tickets to see my beloved Demetri Martin at the Paramount Theatre in Denver Colorado! Located by Glenarm Street, this theater sure is amazing. With helpful staff, you won’t be getting lost anywhere. The seating is huge but rigorous because you can’t just sit anywhere. Every ticket is assigned to every row, at every number at every place. The long, yet short hour of Demetri Martin playing on stage was yet to be described. I felt ill because no flash photography was permitted at all! It sucks, because I wanted to take so many photos of him doing his legendary stand up comedy. Oh well. The lines weren’t so bad, but the astonishing thing about it, is that the Paramount Theatre leaves a remarkable taste in my mouth because they carry a very inexpensive coat check, a built in bar, and even a next door bar for drinks. The gates are huge with golden pillars and friendly faces. I love this venue and its fancy ways.

Attended Elvis Costello concert. Show was great, but I’ll never attend that theater again. Too many people jammed into tiny seats. Seats smaller, more cramped than on an airplane. Was also way too warm and stuffy. Forget it if you are handicapped in any way. Restrooms down many stairs. No elevator. Architecture was beautiful, however, as well as the acoustics.

Saw Guster here last month. I love this theater. The staff was super friendly, the bars were easily accessible and the seats were comfortable. The sound was great too, and the room is beautiful. I do wish the floor was general admission, that would be a lot better than seats, and the lines for the bathroom were really out of control but other than construction, I’m not sure how you fix that. Overall, I would definitely go back for another show if the band was someone I was interested in!

Great venue and excellent location. Old style facility, but still relevant. Close to all downtown eateries.

Decent for a historic place. Only con is the single set of bathrooms they have available.

The theatre itself is great! The drinks are WAY over-priced and the bartenders could use some«friendliness training!» The ushers on the other hand were fantastic! Great show!

The venue is historic and in a prime location and the few times I have been have been magical! I have enjoyed seats in the balcony each time now that I think about it and it is intimate enough that I had no issues being able to see the stage clearly. The seats are comfy and there is enough leg room to dance in your chair. The drinks were a little pricey, but they served us two per person so we could enjoy the show without needing to resupply! Congestion is going to occur depending on timing and the crowd, the T-shirt line was long last time, but the restrooms had no line during the show — so that works for me! The acoustics are amazing, the art deco vibe is welcoming and the shows are solid. I only wish more of my kind of entertainers booked this place. It is a gem in the crown of Downtown Denver for certain.

TLDR version: beautiful theater interior, friendly service, crazy expensive drinks, can seat WAY more people than it could ever evacuate quickly, and don’t get me started on the bathroom lines — MEN’S included.

This was a fantastic venue! We saw David Sedaris and had time to take in the ornate décor. The bathrooms may need to be updated, but other than that, pretty fantastic. Seating was comfortable, acoustics are great and concessions weren’t bad.

Beautiful Theatre located in Denver. I would highly recommend seeing a show here. My only complaint was at the start of the show, a bunch of people where rushing to their seats and made it hard to hear and was very distracting. If they could announce that the show is about to start it might help eliminate that rush.

There are a lot of great things about the Paramount Theatre — the location is fantastic, the shows are a great quality and there is so much history and character here. Though charming, the Paramount is in need of some improved upkeep and routine maintenance. It just generally feels a little dingy and used up — and not in the«fun and dive-y» sort of way, in the«uh, is this safe?», kind of way.

There I was walking 16th street on a sunday night. The marquee beckoned me in. Calling me in with its warm bright light and nostalgic charm. I sat way, way up top — sound was great, eyeline to the stage was awesome. Line to the ladies room? OUCH. So I say — if you can make a show at the Paramount, do. Just know ladies, you will be waiting.

I recently attended a show at the Paramount(Mike Birbiglia — a really funny comedian) and I was impressed with the venue. It was small enough to feel intimate, but it also seat quite a few so the tickets didn’t sell out too quickly. I thought that was a good balance. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The price for drinks was what you would expect when seeing a show(about $ 10 per drink). The only two downsides were 1) the theater was built in 1930 when people were, on average, 2 inches shorter. Being over 6 feet and there’s not much leg room and you have to wedge your knees in. So not the most comfortable seating. And 2) the only option for tickets(other than paying for them to mail them to you) was using Flash Seats, which requires you to use your credit card or their mobile app at the door. I understand going green, but we had a group of six and I would have rather printed and distributed the tickets rather than try to coordinate schedules so we all arrived at the same time. One other fun fact I learned was the Paramount has 1 of the 2 remaining twin-console Wurlitzer theater organs in the United States. Definitely a solid place to see a show!

Great venue — have seen three shows here and sat on the floor and the balcony. By far the best experience was sitting on the floor, out from under the balcony, as the sightlines on the balcony can be easily obscured by the people sitting in front of you. Drinks are spendy, of course, and the lines are crazy downstairs so hit the bar and bathroom upstairs instead.

I love historic theaters like Paramount. Tons of character with amazing acoustics — perfect intimate feel for singer/songwriter acts. I saw Brett Dennen and Josh Ritter here and sat orchestra right. Brett played solo and brought me to tears as he soulfully sang and strummed acoustic guitar. Good beer selection. The lobby could use a face lift and the restrooms are inconveniently located downstairs, but any time you have classic, historic venues, you’ll sacrifice new/modern conveniences.

This is a really great theater. Saw Big Head Todd on New Years. Show was awesome, then again BHTM show as always are. The theater itself is really cool. I’d like to read up on the history of it. The thing that kept me from awarding that ever elusive 5th star was the $ 9.00 beer price. &9.00? Seriously? The people running things were quite efficient and everything flowed smoothly. I would go back to another show here.

Beautiful theater, great talent, and free parking! Well, double check your ticket on that parking thing… most events come with free garage parking within a block. That’s incredible for a downtown venue, where you pretty much pay for everything. Drink prices were pretty high(my Guinness was around $ 7), but oh well. Seating is comfortable and the actual theater is absolutely gorgeous. They sure could use a better system for exiting… I think it took about 20 minutes to walk 100 feet. Make the idiots who stop for a conversation right in the middle of the lobby MOVE their ASSES. :) Move to the side, move outside… just move.
