Great bacon. A little pricey. Love having a local grocer/butcher within walking distance. Place needs better customer service, the main guy is a little harsh. I’m here to spend money and maybe learn something about what I’m buying if that’s not too much of a bother. Unilocal says opened an hour ago, but still closed as I stand here looking at at an «open» sign with no posted hours. Well well well, they have closed. Too bad, nothing written on the door about it. I wonder if it had anything to do with not being open? A new butcher/name change is opening here. Hope soon!

If you haven’t had a sandwich here do yourself a favor and get one. Their meats and sausages are also excellent.

Not sure how you could give Pig & Block only three stars, but to each their own. Whatever trips your trigger. I still give Jeff and his business 5 stars. Not a place in the area is better than the Pig & Block. PERIOD! If you haven’t been, you definitely need to go! I go at least once a week.

This was a stop on a food tour yesterday. Friendly owners told us about why and how they started the business. Then we sampled some meats and cooked sausages. If I lived in the area I would check this place out. Note– it’s pricey, but good quality.

LOVE! I met Jeff randomly and he mentioned(very humble) this newer place. Now I am a once or twice a week customer. I have never ate so well ALONE then with these delicious cheeses and the cured meats! The prosciutto is so buttery, and it makes me want to leave work now to get over there. Thanks for this Lohi Gem!

I L-O-V-E the product that this little gem offers. I’m obsessed with charcuterie and the idea of making my own(well, putting my own together) makes me incredibly happy, but I felt like the people working there weren’t appreciative of my business. I walked in, BEAMING to put together a charcuterie for a birthday gift. I explained that I had never purchased country pâté, certain types of meats/cheeses, etc. by the pound and that I had no idea when a charcuterie board showed up in front of me at a restaurant how much was there. They honestly didn’t even acknowledge that i had said these things – that I needed direction. I just sort of went for it and did end up getting too much of most items(like 3 x as much as necessary). Then, I told them I wanted some interesting items and told them I didn’t know what a few were. Their explanations were uninspired and unhelpful. So, I love the product and am obsessed with the idea. The food was DIVINE and everything about my at-home experience was perfection. But, I didn’t really feel welcome…

I can’t say more than enough nice things about this place. The guys there are great, the bacon is out of this world and every time I come in, I’m salivating over their selection of meats. And of course the fact that it’s only 5 blocks from my house isn’t a bad thing either! So what are you waiting for? Come on down and get yourself a pound of their AMAZING maple-cured bacon!

I wandered in on Sunday, bought some hard salami, a «lamb burger», and pickles… all were delicious. Having only experienced mass produced salami before, the link I tasted from Pig and Block was a small revelation, as firm as hard cheese when you slice it, but it melts as you chew it, spicy and rich with real«meatiness» without being oily. Treat yourself by stopping by here!

Stopped in today as we were trolling the neighborhood trying to recall where P&B was. Picked up some mouth-watering delicious Irish cheddar. I expected a certain amount of sharpness, only having tried a couple of mainstream Irish cheddars in the past — this was not at all! Creamy finish that left me wanting more. A huge slab of Iowa prosciutto caught my eye, so the gentleman sliced us some thin, long strips that we’ve been ripping on all day. This stuff feeds the soul. Next time we’ll be picking up more cheese AND bacon & eggs!

The neighborhood is complete! The best, fresh cured meats, cheeses, and a butcher? This is literally some of the best meats I have bought in my life. Jeff makes all of his own sausages which vary day to day. We bought pork chops last week… AWESOME! Tonight we made the filets we got from there. I have been to some of the best steak restaurants in the country and this is some of the best steak I have ever had! We went in Friday evening and they had a meat and cheese plate out for tasting! They also have baguettes, fresh sauces and pastas. A one-stop-shop! You will not be disappointed at the P A B!!!

OHEMGEEE … We had a lovely friend that brought us 2 pounds of the bacon from this place and it was easily the BESTWEHAVEEVERHAD. I don’t think I can buy bacon at the grocery ever again. I will be re-reviewing after I get to stop by and sample more. Yay!!!

Ok, if you like pig you have to come here. We picked up a few good things but sampled many more. Go for the fennel soppressata, homemade it house, salty, flavorful, perfect! So perfect we took half pound home We also purchased some amazing prosciutto brought in from Parma, the real deal. Tasted a few pâté, nothing like I ever tasted before… also outta this world. They pretty much have a cool selection of homemade and specialty salami, sausages, pâté, etc. And also carry fresh steaks, bacon, cheeses and other local cool treats.
