The best way I can describe it, a mix between Applebees, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Chili’s. Had some good food and the location is great(even have a bonfire outside). Would definitely recommend stopping by and giving it a try at the very least.

I went here recently with a group of co-workers. The beer selection was pretty good, and the ambiance was fine. We did find the room we were in to be very loud. The waitress was hit-or-miss. We had to ask to order food, but I would have preferred if she asked us if we wanted to order anything other than beer. The food we ordered was very mediocre. My girlfriend ordered a wrap with sweet potato fries. She found the wrap to be bland and didn’t like that they added brown sugar to the already sweet fries. My BBQ chicken burger was also disappointing. I did enjoy the tater tots, but I can make those at home with a similar result. I did get to taste the fried pickles, and they were good. The only reason I’d feel compelled to return is to watch sports on their numerous TVs, but since I’ve got cable, I don’t see wanting to do that. This place reminds me of the numerous bland restaurants in the suburbs. Nothing special, and yet the bill was surprisingly high for two beers and two main dishes. I think I paid $ 57 with tip, and frankly that is too much for such mediocrity. They’ve obviously got some work to do, as evidenced by the 3 star rating on Unilocal. But hey they were busy and there aren’t many other options in the area, so they should still continue to see customers for the foreseeable future. I just won’t be one of them.

Excellent atmosphere, bar in the middle of the restaurant. Service is quick and seemingly genuinely interested in your experience. The food is good from what I experienced but the décor could be a little more enticing.

I like to hang out here, but this time I ordered pizza for pick up and showed up after 25−35min though that I will pay and take my pizza and go! But no, the lady at the bar is like«it’s still not ready» no apologies no please? Who you think I’m? Im not you body and it’s not ok. I work hard for each penny I make and sense I’m spending it at your place, show me respect lady!!! 10 min pass I’m still waiting on my pizza and I’m not happy!

It’s… Fine. Nothing special. They don’t have outstanding drinks or food but it’s solid and an easy location to go for happy hour or a quick meal out. Seems like I measure everything, these days, on how fast you can get in and out(after having a kiddo) and the Tavern can get you in and out. Like I said, nothing super special but good.

Overpriced food, overpriced drinks, really loud with obnoxious server’s. There are exceptional restaurants all around this place, so why put up with this craps?

Say yes to just about anything on the menu and you’re gonna be happy! Friends had salads and bison chili, nachos, and the famously yum yummy burgers. I had the chicken lettuce wraps that had a super nice portion of peanut sauce and they were just the right portion. I recommend making a reservation if there are more than two in your party if wanting to watch the game. This particular day we watched the game«Go Broncos» and had dinner. It’s great for just drinks too! Just an FYI the back room is warm and there are 7 tv’s for sports watching!

We walked in and they were having issues with their drains and it smelled like sewer. Instead of acknowledging this, they sat us next to the drain. We complained and moved to the back. Since I’m sure that’s not a regular thing I’ll move on to the food. I had fish and chips and it was the best I’ve had in a long time. I recommend at least trying it out.

Nov 62015. Hit and miss with food again. Pizza rolls were torched and the waitress didn’t seem to care. We are always amazed at how little the wait staff appears to care. We are at the point of boycotting this place.

Came here for happy hour on the patio. At first service was good, then after about half an hour, our server started disappearing. It got to the point where we were waving down other bar staff to get our refills. It was also pretty dead and boring. Maybe because it was a Thursday? I dunno. It didn’t start picking up inside until football started. According to the patio bartender, they shut the patio bar down before 7pm which I find strange. The food ordered was meh. We ordered the plain calamari with a side of ranch and an order of chips and salsa. The salsa had a weird aftertaste to it. It was also overly sweet. The calamari tasted a bit freezer burned. The only saving grace was the peppadew poppers that came with the calamari. Those were delicious. It’s good that you get a little receipt for the 2-for-1 happy hour drinks showing that they owe you a second drink. Since service is spotty, you can always save the receipt and come in on another day to redeem your drink.

AWFUL! Overpriced, horrible service, you will wait WAY too long for your food to come out, often times having to flag down your server, this place is just a disaster. Food is average at best. I’ve give them several chances and it’s just been flat out BAD every time. DON’T WASTEYOURTIME!

Great patio in the summer. Love the mist on a hot day! Outdoor bar is a plus too Food is consistent and seems as though they try to expand the menu with seasonal selections

Love this neighborhood restaurant that does a good job all around. I wish they had more legitimate gluten free options like gf bread, and hamburger buns. Had Sid the waiter who was AWESOME! Funny, personable, and sassy! A great place to watch any sports game, there are lots of TVs on all the walls and around the bar. I also like that they don’t play the music too loud and you can actually have conversations with people at your table.

I Have been contacted and they are currently working to resolve all issues, The Tavern has been very active to make sure the experience I had was not typical, and have gone above and beyond what I expected to see me return as a customer. I will most definitely be coming back as the food and wait staff have been phenomenal in the past. Mistakes happen, but be comforted to know that The Tavern cares enough about you as a person to correct any perceived wrongs. Thank you! ORIGINALREVIEW: The food is great, if it ever gets to your table the way your ordered it. And the servers are amazing, truly our waiter did his best, but when things go wrong on the kitchen side that many times, and then the manager comes out sheepishly to the table with still incorrect food. And does not appologize, or comp the meal appropriately. My family was done eating before my brother or I had gotten our 3rd replacement burgers. We did not have a complex order, the kitchen was just rushing because it was a saturday. I know mistakes happen, that’s fine, and our waiter tried. But management, specifically the male blond manager in a Polo who would not even look me in the eyes to ask if there was any way to rectify the situation. That is what makes me not want to go back. They did not care about me, end of story.

The food was awesome. I really enjoyed my burger. The server was super friendly too. He seemed really busy so the drinks were staggered a bit. All in all the place seemed clean and nice presentation of drinks/food.

Very comfortable setting. They have a live music venue downstairs that I haven’t tried yet. The drinks were yummy and the staff was wonderful. The best part for us was the woman’s volleyball game playing directly in front of us. Sports venue with the option to opt out if that’s not your thing. Ask for Kevin… he was a star waiter.

I tried the Tavern ultimate mac & cheese for $ 14.50. It is described as the Tavern Mac n Cheese topped with grilled chicken, bacon, tomatoes and green onions. The Tavern Mac n Cheese is Campanelle pasta tossed in a five-cheese sauce topped with a cheddar crumb crust that is baked. I thought the amount of grilled chicken on the dish wasn’t proportional(there was too much for my liking!) and the size of the chicken pieces were too large. The flavor and texture of the mac and cheese was also underwhelming. I thought it was a little bit dry and would have preferred for it to be slightly saucier. I also thought that a traditional elbow macaroni noodle would have made the dish better. I also tried the jalapeño cheese dip from the starters menu. It was advertised as a creamy blend of cheeses, bacon, and jalapeños served with house made crackers and tortilla chips. Ours however, did not have house made crackers on it. Instead it just had pieces of cold tortilla(whole pieces of tortilla). I am not sure how I was supposed to eat that with the dip. For cocktails, I tried the Strawberry Shortcake(Pearl Whipt Vodka, Strawberry Purée, Cream, Club Soda) for $ 7. This did taste like dessert but was too strong in vodka flavor for my taste. I also tried the South Of Dixie Tea(Junior Johnson Strawberry Moonshine, Peach Liqueur, Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka, Iced Tea) also for $ 7. It did not taste like strawberry and it was also too strong in vodka flavor for my liking. I also felt rushed by the waitress who I guess was about to end her shift in that section of the restaurant and move to a different serving area. She was very eager to give us the check and kept checking in on us to see if we were ready to finish our meal. This is the third Tavern that I have been to and it has been my least favorite experience so far. It’s nicer than the one downtown by ballpark just because there’s plenty of parking here. I came here another time with my family and we tried the hotdog with cheese sauce and Tator tots, a burger, the Italian pizza and hot as well as cold coffee. The Italian pizza was $ 13 and was worse than frozen pizza. It had no vegetables on it aside from bell pepper and the sausage on it was cut in fat slices. They were the kind you’d find in pasta. The crust was floppy so I had to hold my pizza with my left hand flat like a plate. The size didn’t reflect the price and the taste was so underwhelming. The hot dog had tons of cheese sauce that was too salty and appeared to be canned or jarred cheese. The tots were good though. My dad said the burger tasted like the ones we made at home. Which isn’t a compliment because we make really average burgers. I ordered two coffees to go(1 iced and 1 hot). Both came in a paper cup with a plastic see thru lid on top and a plastic straw. Hot coffee in a thin paper cup made for iced drinks(lined with that waxy stuff) with a plastic straw?! Who drinks hot coffee with a plastic straw. The coffee tasted watered down and over roasted. The room in the back is so terribly dark and I guess tavern like.

Wow! This place was seriously hopping on Friday night. It’s within walking distance from my friend’s apartment, so we decided to stop in for a few drinks after dinner nearby. We quickly found 2 seats at the large bar and the bartender gave us menus. We didn’t order any food, but certainly enjoyed a few cocktails. First I had the Ruby Mule, which was Deep Eddy Ruby Red Vodka, Lemonade, Mint, Lime, Ginger Beer($ 7). It was good, but a bit too much lemonade for me. I couldn’t really taste the ruby red vodka. My friend had the Black and Blue Mule, which was Pearl Blueberry Vodka, Blackberries, Lime, Ginger Beer($ 7), which was really good. Next I tried the South of Dixie Tea, which was Junior Johnson Strawberry Moonshine, Peach Liqueur, Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka, Iced Tea($ 7). I don’t like peach flavored anything, so I asked the bartender to leave that out. Man, was this a great drink! It was served in a large mason jar and was really refreshing, especially for the price! The service was fast and friendly, even though the place was VERY crowded. They offered happy hour specials and were showing the World Series game. The restaurant seemed very busy, which is always a good sign. Next time I visit, I’d love to try the food. It was a great night and I am surprised by some of the negative reviews!

When it comes to the multiple Tavern locations around town I think they are either cool beans or absolutely terrible. I’ve very pleased that the Lowry location is the former. It’s like an oasis in the middle of Lowry and they won’t steer you wrong. While it isn’t a happening night spot they do have a killer happy hour for people who work or live in the neighborhood. The couple of times I’ve been here I’ve always had a very pleasant experience. As with other Tavern spots there is a fun menu for foodies. It’s a bit pricey for my likes but every now and then it’s ok to splurge. At least the portion sizes are big. I’ve also enjoyed the multiple drink choices. Staff is always accommodating and prompt unlike at other Tavern locations. Everyone who works at this store has been awesome so I give massive kudos for that. It makes the whole place feel welcoming and, gasp, makes you want to spend your money! Give ‘em a big tip — they’re worth it. When I find myself in this neck of the woods I would never turn down an invite to visit the Tavern Lowry. It’s a great place to grab a bite, throw back a few drinks and hang out. They also have a patio with a ton of room so that’s a bonus. Over all — solid.
