I had the pleasure of enjoying the Three Musketeers with fellow Unilocalers and the rest of my wonderful Company that all came out on Friday night. The Three Musketeers was truly a treat. The Stage Theatre was the perfect venue for this performance, more intimate and not a bad seat in the house! Actors were very talented and there were some excellent sword fighting scenes throughout. It was great to see the wonderful theatrics performed by the entire crew! A good time had by all.

The first act is the classic Three Musketeers story by Alexandre Dumas that is familiar to so many of us. D’Artagnan meets Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, joins the Three Musketeers, and helps retrieve the Queen’s jewels. There is not much variation from what I first saw as a child in cartoons, and later saw in films. It was, in my opinion, very well acted and extremely entertaining. There was a large cast and the sword fights were exciting. The actor who played King Louis XIII portrayed the foppishness in an extravagant and hilarious manner. I would recommend this play to just about anyone. The second act(«Milady’s Revenge») was also quite good, but I enjoyed the first act more.

«Young D’Artagnan comes to Paris to join the Musketeers. Befriended by three legendary swordsmen, he’s put to the test, finds love, faces temptation and thwarts evil. This swashbuckling adaptation of Dumas’ novel weighs the cost of a hero’s journey.» That is the description from the official website, but, as everyone knows, it is really: «All for one, one for all.»(«un pour tous, tous pour un») The Stage Theatre is a comfy, close to the action, setting for this fun, entertaining play. The costumes were classic and the sword fights were exciting to watch; and listen to as metal clashed with metal. My friends and I attended opening night and all of us, teenagers included, enjoyed the show. I recommend it for a great night out. Now, I need to find«Les Trois Mousquetaires» and read the original.
