I really enjoy this park, but that could just be due to it’s proximity to Spinelli’s. I have spent many an afternoon getting a sandwich from Spinelli’s, taking a blanket and my baby over to W.H. and letting him lay on the grass mesmerized by trees and sky while I actually get to eat a whole meal uninterrupted. That alone makes me a fan. But, I also like the fact that they have several benches you can sit on if you don’t want to sit on the grass. And I like that they have a fun little playground for older children. I’m looking forward to the day that Baby N can head here to swing, slide, and jungle-gym it up. And if you’re the parent of an early morning riser you can always get coffee and yummy scones from Adagio and head to the park to let the little one(s) run off some steam.

I’m a park lover who’s always up for a sunny afternoon laying in the grass. W.H. Ferguson Park, which is locally known as Turtle park due to the concrete turtle on the playground, is a quiet little children’s park. There are a few park benches and a small area of grass, but the main attraction is the playground. It’s tiny, so definitely not recommended for any adults out there looking for a funday Sunday, but if you have kids and need a place to let them let out some steam… this is a perfect place. It’s near the library too, so it has all the makings of a nice wholesome day!

We love Turtle Park! It’s part of our perfect 3 hours: my 18 month old son loves it, then we go to Adagio and get scones…

Affectionately known as Turtle Park to locals, this little urban refuge offers playground equipment, a patch of grass, and a picnic table, in addition to the concrete turtle that little kids just LOVE to crawl on. So get yourself a pint of ice cream or a fantastic deli sandwich at Spinelli’s, cross at the crosswalk, and relax in Park Hill’s communal backyard. No restroom facilities. Not a good place to sunbathe(too many children with disapproving nannies).
