Wardrobe Works

It was a pleasure to shop here and work closely with the wonderful shop owner. She was so knowledgeable about what she had available and after getting my feedback on a few pieces she suggested was very quickly able to hone her recommendations to fit me. That said I’m really used to shopping without any help, and she didn’t take away from my enjoyment of browsing independently.
I’m extremely particular about what I wear and to tell you the truth, when I first walked in due to the relatively small size of the store and overall color palette (lots of neutrals) my first impression was that I would likely not find anything I was into. I ended up with two dresses, a top, and a pair of boots, all pieces that have been in heavy rotation since my purchase. They are all unique, super high quality selections. Wardrobe Works is not exactly cheap (pieces I purchased ranged from $ 50 to $ 125) but I would consider everything I bought to be an excellent, excellent value.
I’ll think of Robyn, her gem of a store, and also the wonderful little Mexican restaurant she recommended to us two tourists, whenever I wear my new duds.

Some of the best pieces in my closet are from Wardrobe Works: a distinctive silver belt, a Prada evening bag, a Jil Sander skirt and a Dries Van Noten cape. I have shopped there for 15 years and found great surprises. The owner knows fashion and she is all about integrity and creativity.

I must say that as a consignor I appreciate when someone knows the designer that I bring in right off the bat! I have brand new never been worn with the tag items that I get when I work for the designer and these ladies know their stuff.
I recently brought my items to them and they took almost all of it and seemed very happy to have them in their store. I know that they have already sold 3 items and I was amazed when I received a check for them without even having to call them, I guess they pay out monthly. I have only dealt with one other consignment shop before and I was NOT impressed, I am so glad to have a neighborhood gem that treats the consignor with respect.

Probably one of the few places where I can go in and the owner waves her magic wand and I come out looking like a princess– for a lot lower than princess prices. There is a wide mix of fashionable items AND the owner has «suppliers” — people who consistently pass on their goodies. And if you are a match size/​style-​wise, you are guaranteed to be in fashion for eternity– or, until that skinny model moves from Aspen.
