We love Watering Bowl! We try to bring our pups once a week. Justin the proprietor is fantastic and has lots of colorful nicknames for the dogs. The staff is always great and has to deal with a lot from the dogs and humans. Fun and relaxing even in the winter. The turf keeps your pups clean so no cleaning up mud after a long hard play. And the food is really yummy, try the spinach dip and bacon mozza tots!

I love this place, our dog is able to run around in a great little doggie park, and we are able to drink and mingle ! They have great little small bites, French fries and jalapeño poppers are great. I highly recommend anyone who has a dog to come here. We love it !

One of the weirdest experiences of our lives. We have talked with our friends many times about checking this bar out since it is nearby and we have pups. We were driving by and said, «let’s grab a beer there and see if it is good to bring the dogs next time» Walked up, gave a guy our ID. Other guy Pats us down«whoa aggressive but whatever». Walk in, charging a cover charge. Don’t see a dog anywhere. Lots of gangster music and 6 people hardcore grinding. Expected that out of dogs, not what we saw… Welp, see you later! Walked out

Came here tonight for happy hour with friends and their pups. I will never, ever come back. The pretzel was hard and too salty for my liking. But the food wasn’t the issue — we were going to order dinner but never had the chance since our server never asked. My issue was getting trampled and bitten by several dogs who were fighting under our picnic table. The dog owners didn’t seem to care and there obviously were no rules for managing their dogs. The dogs in our group kept getting snapped at and humped so much that they were terrified and climbed on our laps to get away from the unmanaged dogs. I am definitely not one to write a bad review but we were all so appalled. Will never return.

Quite possibly my favorite place. I’m there almost everyday. So much better than taking the dogs for walk; especially after work. Oh and their happy hour specials are great.

5 stars for the concept and the fun that my dog had. 2 stars for the waiter… he doesn’t write anything down so he had to ask our group of 7 at least 5 times what we wanted. My dog though absolutely loved it. It’s a cool place to hang.

The food and drinks are good and it’s a cool idea for a bar but I agree with everyone else on here. The servers and bartenders are all shit and this place needs to clean house and get some serious employees in there right away…

Wow. I have tried to come here at least three different times and it’s closed. Private party, early for the evening, whatever. I have tried to call this place no less than 20 times. They never, ever answer. I wanted to love you but I never had the chance. 2 stars because I love the concept

We came here with a Groupon last night as we’re always on the lookout for new places. The concept of a dog bar is certainly attractive,(even though we don’t have a dog), as so many people in Denver bring their pups everywhere anyway. Jess arrived before me and sat at the downstairs bar. The bartender told her very nicely that there was about to be poker and it was going to get loud, so she opted to move upstairs. It’s nice that they have that option. We bellied up, got beer, and looked at dinner. They offered standard pub grub, we opted for a 6 piece order of honey sriracha wings and an 11 inch pizza. The food came out quickly, but they never gave us plates or silverware to use, just assumed I suppose that we would be using the napkins available. The wings were big and meaty, the sauce was decent in taste but truly had zero heat at all to it. Given that it was sriracha we expected a bit of spice. If we hadn’t have built our own pizza I would have sworn it was a frozen pie that was pulled from the freezer when ordered. I expect the crust was, but really the entire thing reminded me of a low end ‘za from the frozen food aisle. Their beer list was mediocre, they have a basic range but nothing impressive. They seem to like to focus on shots and specialty drinks but we aren’t those people so we stayed away. The biggest complaint I see in the other reviews was service. I’ll say this, the two bartenders I interacted with were nice, WHEN we interacted with them. They were frequently missing, and when they were present they were sitting off to the side talking, eating, or texting on their phones. They were slow to refill beers, slow to take our order and slow to follow up. «Meh» describes my experience perfectly. I really can’t see myself coming back here.

A place to bring your pups and allow them to be off-leash while humans enjoy libations and food?! Sign me right up! As a frequent visitor to the WB since the spot opened, I’ve seen this place openly listen and take feedback from patrons on changes to make the WB the best it can be. Unfortunately, there are not many dog bars from which to follow an example, and I really believe this place has done an awesome job of flowing and embracing a small learning curve, and it really has become one of my favorite bars. They recently revamped their whole staff and introduced a new menu. And last time I was there, I heard that they may be introducing brunch and yoga on the weekends :) next time you’re in, try the soft pretzels or cheese fries– you won’t be disappointed! The layout inside is really awesome as well, they have pool tables and different arcade games, plus a slew of events every week. I really love the paint nights and poker tournaments! All in all, fairly priced drinks and food are a cherry on top when you can bring your four-legged best friend :) this is the only place of its kind in Denver, and it does an awesome job!

I wish I could give 0 stars. I have gone to the watering bowl 3 times and each time has been worse. Last night I received the worst service I have ever had to date. First off, the waitress was horrendous. She came to the table and as we were giving her our drink orders, she turned around to give a great big hug to a passing employee who was drunk off his ass. When she was done with him she finally turned back around to get our orders which she promptly forgot and had to ask us for twice more(1 bud light, 1shirley temple and 1water). It took forever for her to come back to the table to get our food orders and she was incredibly rude and seemed to be annoyed at the fact that she had to wait on us at all. This awful service continued the rest of the night. We were there to watch the UFC fights which they advertise showing. It was 7:15 and I had to flag down the waitress to ask if they were going to turn off the music and turn on the volume for the fights and she said, rudely, «Yes, at 7.» I pointed out thst is was currently AFTER7 so she(again, seemingly very annoyed) turned on the fighs. After the prelims were over and the pay per view started, they realized they had NOTORDERED the fights yet. The incompetent staff then spent 35 minutes trying to figure out how to order the fights and we missed the entire first fight and then some. We also got no apologies from anyone, of course, AND they charged a cover fee. The waitress and the rest of the staff continued to be rude and unprofessional the rest of the night. At one point, the waitress was on the 2nd level screaming for a guy named Justin to come upstairs and was throwing menus at him from up above to get his attention and taking shots behind the bar while ignoring customers. When we finally found someone to get our bill and pay the guy that helped us was even more rude than the waitress. I have never in my life left 0 $ tip(I always tip at least 20%) but I felt they deserved absolutely nothing from me and in fact I should have asked for a refund(at least for the cover charge). What a joke of a place. I wish it was a good bar because I love the concept and it’s close to me. This place will be out of business by next year and I’m honestly surprised it has lasted this long. I will never be going back and will make sure everyone I know will not waste their money here either. P. S. I have also never felt compelled to write a review this long!

I really was excited to finally come here. Loved the dogs. The service is horrible. We had to go inside for food and drink requests. The bar girls would come outside and look at us and then run back inside. Never asked us if we needed anything. No eye contact. Too bad. Would be a great place.

Good tasty fried bar food and a good atmosphere for letting your dog run around — terrible service. I’ve been there three times, and each experience was soured by the poor service. The first time I walked in and went to the bar, I was simply ignored by the staff. There wasn’t anyone else being served, but the two servers just continued chatting with each other behind the bar for five minutes before one finally came over. In each of my first two experiences there, they gave our food to the wrong table, which we found out after 45 minutes of waiting without getting our food. What’s worse is that they weren’t even apologetic about it. Last night was the worst yet. After placing our order(chicken parm sandwich, cheese quesadilla, and onion rings) we had to wait over 70 minutes to get our food. The server said they were backed up due to the rush, but we had arrived and ordered well before the rush, and during our wait we saw many people that arrived 30 minutes after us getting their food. The saving grace was that the food was hot and delicious when it eventually came out. Also, I’m not a fan of the cups. Beside the fact that they’re clearly not cleaned well, they give the false impression that you’re getting a lot more beer than you actually are.

This is a great place to take your dog to socialize while you have a beer. The service was extremely slow, so just sit back and relax. You can always go into the bar and get a drink. I didn’t order food, but several people next to us did and it looked alright. I probably wouldn’t get food here. The beer was cold and my dog had a blast.

The idea and atmosphere is great, but the food is only decent and the servers are absolutely horrible. We have been here once before and it was fine, which is why we came back today. We came in and were greeted immediately, but our server chose to either not listen or did not have the capacity to remember things. Each time we ordered(1. Drinks, 2. Appetizers, 3. Meal), we had to repeat our order at least twice. We only saw our server when she was bringing others their orders or when she brought us our orders. Of course, we had to flag her down each time to give her our order and as expected, we had to repeat our order again. Also, our server didn’t have a great personality and seemed to hate her job. The other server wasn’t any better as she seemed to be annoyed that we flagged her down to get our check when our server was nowhere in sight. I like the premise of this establishment, but the service is highly disappointing. Definitely not a fan and definitely will NOT be coming back.

The Watering Bowl is a bar with a dog park in it. Every year they have a crawfish boil, and this was the 6th annual event. I heard about it, because I work across the street. I have a dog. I like crawfish. I like being outdoors. Done. The tickets were kind of pricey($ 30 each) but if you think about how much crawfish cost, it was worth it. I thought it was just all you can eat crawfish, but it was much more. Hamburgers, hot dogs, cole slaw and beans were other items you could get. Plus, cooked with the crawfish were corn, mushrooms, sausage, potatoes and bell peppers. It was pretty much a 4 hour feast. They just kept cooking and I couldn’t seem to stop eating. We definitely got our $ 30 worth and I will jump in again for next year! Great crowd, you can bring the dogs, and fantastic food!

Ok, this is not 5 stars in the normal sense– average to good food, the place has some rough edges, etc. But if you like dogs, there is NOTHING more fun than being here on a sunny day drinking and eating while a crazy variety of dogs run around being dogs. Friday eve there was hilarious. And dog people are generally the nicest people you’ll meet. Great draft beers, lots of parking, dogs can go inside if leashed. If you need a good laugh to turn your day around, this is the spot. Maybe you don’t own a dog; fine, get your canine fix and a cocktail together. Big fun. Probably not cool for kids or anyone fragile. But every kind and size dog gets along fine there in my visits.

Awesome concept, crappy patrons. We were so excited to be able to bring out dog here and let him run around. The outdoor space is pretty open, but I think that the layout could use a little work. There is patio seating right in the middle so dogs are running around almost on top of you. The drink prices were ok, a little bit more than you would normally pay at a bar but it’s about the experience. We’ve ordered food before and the serve pizza and sandwiches, they were out of pepperoni, seriously? As I mentioned before the concept is great but the patrons were awful. People were just getting drunk and allowing their dogs to do whatever and since they obviously weren’t watching them, they weren’t cleaning up after them. I love being able to enjoy a drink outside with my dog and he’s certainly not perfectly behaved, but it’s frustrating when literally 5 or 6 unsupervised dogs are running out of sight from their owners. All in all, I think I’d rather just take my dog to a dog park to play and run around.

I’ve been wanting to bring my dog here ever since I started passing it on the way to the gym. What a great concept! Hang out, grab a drink, and zero guilt because you bring your dog to do the same thing! Some of the negative reviews delayed me for awhile. The first time I came was a few months ago for a canine-free event, that was an awesome time! Today my husband and I were on the way to get some stuff done on the house, and had our dog with us. It sounded like a crazy beer pong tournament inside, but in the outdoor dog area it was pretty chill. My dog had tons of fun! My husband and I ordered lunch and let him play! The food was okay, not spectacular but not bad either. The super cute bartender was incredibly sweet, took our food order and even brought it out. Hope weather holds out long enough to bring the dog back!
