Wendy’s

The workers here do not pay attention to what they are doing. I went to the drive-​through and ordered a pulled pork cheese burger and a large fry. After paying I did not receive my change or a receipt. The girl then hands me drinks I did not order. After waiting for a while someone else hands me a bag. I ask for my receipt and get a blank stare then he walks off. A minute later he comes back with a greasy receipt and I drive off. On my way home I go to taste a fry and it’s cold and soggy. Disappointed, I drive home and sit down and open a greasy box to find two buns with a little pulled pork smashed in between and no burger to be found. After driving back and asking for a manager, I wait for over two minutes while they track down their manager. I ask for my money back and the manager kindly asks if I’d like to keep the cold fries and sandwich… In conclusion the store got a great new make over and the same sub par service and food quality.

I’m gonna do these guys a solid; I’m going to help elevate their average by giving them what they deserve — because they gave me what I deserved; a fast, hot, fresh, good tasting meal served up quickly and with courtesy.
I am not a fan of the Wendy’s chain in general. I’ve evaded their square, overly-​dripping with grease pattied burgers for years now. Was coming back from a movie and decided I’d see what I could find and if their menu had changed any in the last few years.
Well, it has — to my surprise. I had 2 Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers and 1 Crispy Chicken Sandwich. I wasn’t expecting a lot different from any of the other major burger chains — but the slimy greasy burger patties I’d kind of resigned myself to experiencing… weren’t there. They were actually tasty sandwiches. The chicken patty was moister and… hard for me to gauge, but tastier than McD’s or BK’s offerings. I was one of the only people in there at 930ish at night, but I was attended to promptly, server made eye contact, smiled… and everything got hustled to me, but I saw it was made fresh; not something that had been sitting on a warmer plate. I…
Well, I just can’t say any more about it. But it left me blinking my eyes a little bit, because it was a *good* fast food experience — doubly surprising given the scoring average of this place. …Keep doing the solid job, peeps.

And both times they managed to screw up the order and I had to go back both times how annoying is that, that is it for with Wendy’s

It’s fast and efficient if you can beat the lunch crowd. To keep this a 4 star establishment I will not disclose when that temporal threshold is. Very friendly people working the register and it’s a clean place too. Their world stops turning when I ask if they can add a beef patty on top of my chicken sandwich and the entire kitchen gives me stares like I’m speaking Aramaic. But if you wanna stick to the traditional menu you can’t go wrong.

Filthy, consistently. There was a time when this place was into cleaning, but no longer. Last time I was in there, I pointed out to a manager that there was only one clean place to sit, and she said, «well why don’t you just sit there?» Excuse me?

Yes, Wendy’s… and YES, 4 stars… and YES, I will tell you why…
Everyone in the free world has had crap-​ass, cold, not what I ordered, shitty service, I wanna kill someone fast food experiences. We have sadly come to expect it. I have experienced it time and again. We all hate this, but run the risk every time we «drive thru.» I could expound on how very much worse this is when you have any number of children depending on the fact that their burger will not come with mustard because, «mustard is disgusting» but I won’t because all orders are equally important… even if I’ve been left scraping stuff off of burgers more than once. ANYHOO…
I have never EVER had a wrong order here. I have also pulled into a line of a bout 8 bazillion people and never waited more than a few minutes. I have also had people always be kind and courteous and fast and accurate. This last sentence in and of itself sums up fast food perfection. So here’s to you Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers just off of Colorado and Alameda… thanks for making life a little easier as we «drive Thru!»

A fellow Unilocaler complained about my 3 star rating of Wendy’s. For clarification, I rate restaurants by category — so, as a fast food burger restaurant I believe that Wendy’s is A-​OK (3 stars) compared to Burger King (0 stars), Taco Bell (2.5 stars) and McDonalds (2 stars). I would not compare Wendy’s to say… Z Cuisine (5 stars).

Cold, wet day in Denver. How strange. But, the assistant manager at Wendy’s put a cold rag on the thermostat so every customer was «feeling the warm».
Not gourmet food, but the carpet is way above McDonalds.

We eat at this Wendy’s when we are going to the Super Target around lunchtime as it is convenient.
Dale, the manager, is a good guy. Very solicitous towards his customers.
The food is: Wendy’s.
I think the 99¢ chicken sandwich is a good deal. Add the 99¢ fries and a $ 1.50 drink and you have a good bargain.

Fast food and I have an understanding. I only eat it when I am hung over, have no food in the house, am too lazy to go to the grocery store to gather breakfast burrito ingredients, and can’t find a friend to have brunch with.
I have low expectations for fast food. So I wasn’t surprised after my visit to Wendy’s today, when I was eating my order of spicy chicken nuggets to think, «these taste like nothing.» I also wasn’t upset when I was eating my classic double with cheese and realized it too, lacked personality or the charisma I love about fresh food prepared with love. I was a bit bothered by the nasty, cold, salt less, limp french fries. I had to take a big gulp of sprite after I ate the first one, because it got stuck in my throat it was so stale.
I blame myself for choosing to spend money here. I could have made a delicious hang over meal with the $ 8 I blew. But that is the point. Fast food companies bank on laziness and the desire for quick convenience. I shake my fist to the sky with contempt for meals like the one I consumed this afternoon.
The two stars I am giving this place are on the fast food star scale, not the real star scale. Wendy’s would get negative two stars (Meh, I’ve experienced a LOT better) if I were comparing them to all the food joints I’ve been to.

If only there were actually more places to eat in this area I wouldnt have to walk to wendy’s and stand in line to eat their stale food during my break. When a building was put up across the street did they put in something good? No they put in a vitamin store and their parking lot sits empty.
