My favorite Asian food in Denver! So good and fast! High quality food and a huge variety too.

Came to Wokano at the suggestion of a good friend and ordered some takeout. It was a Sunday evening at 7pm, so while I didn’t expect them to be super busy, I also didn’t expect how fast they were! After placing my order over the phone, I was told 10 – 15 minutes. I arrived in 8 and the food was there waiting for me. On to the food: Usually I’m a little suspect of a restaurant that serves everything under the sun, but I decided to go with it. While this place primarily serves Chinese, I ordered the pad thai. It came steaming hot and in a massive portion that could easily feed two. The flavor was sweet, nutty, and delicious, but not spicy whatsoever. Not sure if you can request the food to be made with more heat, but I’ll try next time. Glad this place is so close to my house! I wouldn’t drive across town for it, but with the convenience of Cap Hill, you can’t lose!

The food is always pretty good but your phones are TERRIBLE. Half the time I get a busy signal the first four times I call, the other half the person cannot hear me and blames my phone. Pretty sure it’s yours as I’ve called from multiple devices.

This place is awesome, but also very busy! I usually find myself here on a Sunday night where the takeout orders completely take over the restaurant. It’s a small place but the ambience is very lovely and decorated in traditional again décor. They have again fusion, so lots of things on the menu across the spectrum. Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese dishes are all available and all amazing! I love their Thai curries and their house dishes are all phenomenal. Very appropriately priced as well, and depending on how hungry you are a dish with rice is enough to share for two people. They also have a great lunch special where most of the traditional dishes are discounted(a slightly smaller portion) but also include your choice of a soup or salad. The staff is so friendly and always recognize me making it feel like a real neighborhood spot. A must stop by in cap hill!

The food was OK. However, the service was really terrible. The waiter spited some sauce from wasted dish. I asked them for some napkins. They just thrown a dirty mop on my desk and said“Just clean it by yourself.“ No comment on this event.

I was hoping to find a good Chinese food place in Denver, CO and was let down yet again. I’m really not sure how this place has a 4 star review, my only assumption is that there is a lack of good options for Chinese food in Denver, CO. I ordered for delivery, here are the results: #1 egg roll: was a thin, over fried and flavorless. #2 wonton soup: was overcooked, mushy not al dente, and barely had any flavor until I dumped soy sauce on it. #3 singapore noodle w/roast pork: was over cooked, pork was dry like a cracker, rice noodles were also dryed out. #4 chicken w/mixed vegetables + white rice: Thankfully, this was not over cooked, it was close to decent. What ruined it for me was the sauce, it had a light scent of that reminded me of dishwasher detergent. I will never eat here again, I disliked every single thing that I ordered. There is no coming back from that kind of screw up.

Our nephew wanted crab cheese wantons as part of his lunch. Those aren’t really in my wheelhouse of things I eat on a regular basis so I took to Unilocal to find a spot. We found Wokano and it happened to be within ten minutes of where we were at. We arrived at 3 p.m.ish which is a weird between lunch and dinner time hour to eat. We got fast and friendly service. We ordered the aforementioned wantons, along with dumplings for him. I ordered the Korean seafood soup and the hubs went with crispy combo noodles. The portions were HUGE! We both got two meals out of our dishes. The flavors were good, basic flavors. My soup was spicy but didn’t really have a complexity of flavor other than kimchee and seafood. There was quite a bit of seafood though for the price. The dishes neither blew us away nor disappointed us.

My only negative is that I wish they had online ordering and paying. I would love to order from this place more often, but it seems like such a hassle when compared to other places nearby. Their Drunken Noodles with Chicken is awesome, but eat it fresh. It becomes too clumpy when served in a to-go container. There carb cheese wontons have a little sweetness in them that make them a little too addicting.

Great vibe, awesome food. So good. We had the drunken noodles and Panang curry — both were amazing. I’ll get the Phở next time since it looked huge and awesome. Egg drop soup was also on point. Price was decent too!

This is hands down my favorite Thai /Asian Fusion restaurant in Denver! The food is fantastic as a vegan, I find plenty of great options here, ranging from the Pad Thai(ask for it without eggs and with the wonderful tofu. They don’t use fish sauce) to the phở. You’ve also got to have the spicy edamame(best I’ve found) and the genmaicha. I live in Boulder and still make the trek down to Denver every two weeks or so to eat here with good friends, most of whom are not vegan and find a wide range of delicious options! Note: it’s a small spot, so you might have to wait for a table. Additionally, there’s limited parking in the lot outside, so you will likely have to park on the street. Avoid parking in front of the bar next door or the 7 – 11, because you can get a hefty ticket /towed for that. They do to go orders and delivery too. I can’t get enough of this place!

We have been on the lookout for decent Chinese food in Colorado. My expectations are pretty low at this point. Things seem to have gotten better since we lived here in 2009. The lunch combos are great value, and it does get busy, and rightly so. This is a comfy little hole in the wall. I have the kung pao chicken, and we ordered generals chicken. At lunch they come with soup. I had the wonton soup, and it was some of the best I have ever had. I asked, and they do make the dumplings in house. Boyfriend enjoyed his egg drop soup. The free egg rolls, were the most lack luster item we ate, and they are free with lunch. Enjoyed being here, and everything was pretty tasty.

Pros: I love how fast and to the point the lady on the phone is, very efficient. The Phở is Phở-cking amazing, the meat is super duper tender and the broth tastes good. The pot stickers are boom shakalaka and the Kung Pow chicken would make Batman cry. Cons: cant loose weight eating it everyday.

Wokano is truly amazing. Not only do they have super fresh food, and truly, I can’t find a bad dish across the entire menu — but every single time I call for a delivery driver is prompt calls me in my shared workspace, and delivers the goods. I used to live near them but now whenever I can I find an excuse to order take out or delivery. Do yourself a favor and grab food here!

We were attempting to get lunch at another establishment in the neighborhood and after one look at the line we decided waiting was not on the menu for us this afternoon. Wokano Asian Bistro caught our eye and we decided Chinese would make a nice lunch on a coldish afternoon. The interior is what one would expect with a Chinese restaurant with basic tables and chairs and dark walls. We were pleased to see that the lunch specials were available on the weekend and we both decided to order lunch specials. For an appetizer we opted for the Crab Cheese Wontons($ 5.95). I chose the Panang Curry with chicken($ 6.95) with Wonton Soup and he chose Sesame Scallops($ 7.95) with Hot & Sour Soup. The lunch special also comes with rice and a vegetable spring roll in addition to your choice of soup(soup not included for delivery). The Crab Cheese Wontons were a stand out and easily a four star dish. Not a classic preparation that one would expect from most Chinese restaurants, these tasted tempura fried and were served with a green pineapple mint dipping sauce that kept my taste buds dancing and wanting more. My Panang Curry was very good; there was a nice heat level that warmed me from the inside with an abundance of chicken and vegetables. The Sesame Scallops were more disappointing. When the scallops were sliced the breading came right off in one big piece and the breading had an odd overall taste and was not pleasing to the palate. Like any establishment it takes time to find a favorite dish and Wokano Asian Bistro is 50⁄50 on execution, some things are better than average and some items are below average. It’s not a destination kind of place but certainly meets a need and seems to be doing quite well in the neighborhood and seems to be the place to call for takeout.

So tonight must be the night of Murphy’s Law. The first Thai place we tried closed at 9, and since it was 8:55, we decided to spare them the irritation of the last minute patrons. We looked online for the second place, only to learn that they too close at 9. So we try Wokano, and notice on the sign by the door that they’re open until 10. Success! So we walk in, and one of the employees tells us that the dining room closes at 9, and that we’d have to order takeout. If you’re closing the dining room at 9, advertise that. If you say you’re open until 10, be consistent and honor that. End of rant. I have eaten here before, and the food is fairly tasty. But it might tell you something that this was the third choice, and after learning about the limited hours, it might have dropped another spot or two in the rankings.

Always so, so, so, so, so good!!! Wokano is seriously a hidden gem in Cap Hill! The food is always delicious, service is fantastic, they have large portions, and the food comes out VERY fast! I love the sesame chicken, and any of the soups! Must try if you are in the area!

One of the best Asian restaurants in town. It’s a small little place but the food is great! Whether you done in or takeout/delivery, you get a big portion of deliciousness! Staff and delivery drivers are friendly. I just don’t like how they serve coca cola in a warm can with a cup of half melted ice. It tastes weird and watered down.

I heard about this restaurant through one of my coworkers. I was quite surprised that it was a hole in the wall type of restaurant and not a big chain. It’s quite small and has maybe about 10 tables. When you enter, you don’t need to wait to be seated, just pick a seat. We had a child with us and asked for a high chair, which they easily grabbed for us. After we put our food order in, we had to wait maybe 15 – 20 minutes. While we were waiting, we noticed the constant come and go of customers who ordered take out. It also looked like they did delivery as well. We ordered cream cheese wontons as an appetizer with their mint cucumber sauce because of previous Unilocal reviews. It did not disappoint, but the sauce did take a bit to get acquired to although it was delicious. I say cream cheese wontons instead of crab cheese wontons because there was no crab in those wontons. But I’m not complaining because I love cream cheese lol. For my main course, I had the combination pad Thai on a suggestion of my coworker. When it was presented, it looked appetizing. It was just ok. I was quite disappointed because the pad Thai was over sauced. It’s so hard to find good, authentic pad Thai. It was my mistake of trying to order Thai at a restaurant known more for their chinese food. Other than chinese and Thai food though, they serve korean food. Service was good, but the woman taking the orders for the tables also had to take orders from the customers ordering take out. But since they were busy, we didn’t get the personal touch of a server and was only checked up on once. I do want to come back so I could try their chinese food instead.

I was looking for an establishment which offer Korean Spicy Noodles Soup aka Joam Bong aka Jjamppong, hence to this establishment we went. We opt to have our FOODTOGO. That recent visit was on Thursday December 18th2014. Time was about 18:43hrs ish. Man at that time, this establishment is jam packed with other patrons alike and ALOT of TOGO orders. From the Menu we opt to have the following items : * Kobe Beef Noodle **VERYSPICY**($ 12.95) * Joam Bong *EXTRASPICY*($ 11.95) Once at home, and I open the disposable container which contained the Joam Bong Broth and tasted it was just OK. Barely OK, so its more like a «MEH» for me. YES, they packed the Noodles with all the Seafood items such as Shrimp, Scallop and Calamari. Maybe I ordered this dish TOGO, by the time I reached home, due to the«water condensation» and its packed while its HOT, the Seafood items tend to be OVER-COOKED. YES, the Broth is SPICY but its NOT as SPICY as I requested it to be. *SIGH* As for the Kobe Beef Noodle, Hubs said it was OK. The Kobe Beef Noodle, consisted of Ground Kobe Beef sautéed in some kind of gravy, and comes with several steamed vegetables such as Carrots and Broccoli. Nothing stellar, nothing spectacular about this dish. YES, this dish, the portion is doable. Maybe we ordered the wrong items from the Menu. Overall, it was just«MEH» in terms of taste and flavor for both meals. *DOUBLESIGH* Wokano Asian Bistro is opened DAILY from the following hours : * MONDAY — FRIDAY: 11AM — 10PM * SATURDAY — SUNDAY: 12NOON — 10PM Wokano Asian Bistro 1078 Ogden St, Denver, CO80218 Tel:(303) 831‑8277 @12/2015
