Great bbq. We were looking for a small local bbq place and read a bunch of reviews. This wasn’t rated the best place in town(they were closed on Mondays) but it had great overall reviews so we decided to give it a try. It was great. Highly recommend it.

Today was the first time coming to this wonderful BBQ restaurant. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and hash brown casserole, so good. Very large portions… I will be back.

Good bbq, reasonably priced. They were out of the chicken which was a bummer but the sausage link with the gold bbq sauce was great, the beans were good, the coleslaw too, and the potato salad and hash brown casserole were tasty. My boyfriend got the brisket and he enjoyed it. I love the variety of bbq sauce. Overall good bbq food.

I don’t get all the good reviews on this place at all. Do people know BBQ or have people really never had some good BBQ? This place is a couple blocks down the street from me and I now refuse to come into this place. The interior is great, parking lot could be better if people would park straight but that’s not the business fault. The food: I have tried 4 – 5 different things here and I have never had anything wow me. It’s all very mediocre. The rib tips are very inconsistent and they very little meat on them at all, always seem to very greasy as well. The sides are just as mediocre. Beans are beans, can you mess that up? The coleslaw is not even edible. So dry I feel like I’m chewing on saltines. The hash brown casserole is ok, but they charge you extra for a tiny ice cream scoop. BBQ is about quantity as well Yazoo. That’s about it for sides. No okra, no hush puppies, no corn bread, no collard greens, no Mac and cheese. These are major keys to a BBQ joint. I love a good ending to my meal, but the peach cobbler at this place isn’t edible. The breaking is like rubber and probably is made of some very cheap ingredients. It was so bad it gave my stomach flip upside down and I’ll leave it at that. As bad as I want this place to be good since it is so close to my place, it’s probably the worst BBQ I’ve had in Denver.

One of, if not the best bbq in Colorado and especially for the price. Everything is great here, but some of my go to’s nearly every time is the ribs and vinegar green beans. All the sauces are made in house and amazing! This place is definitely a must go to Colorado BBQ joint.

I don’t often eat barbecue, but when I do, I visit Yazoo. Good stuff – brisket, pork, chicken. It’s all good. They have great sauces that aren’t sweet – my biggest complaint about most barbecue sauces. Service is fast. It’s near home. The sides, like cole slaw, potato salad, beans, are all just fine. Compared to many barbecue places, the prices are really reasonable. You won’t go home hungry.

First stop on our trip to Denver for a quick bite. I’m not too familiar with Denver so I’m not sure if the location is easy to access but it was walking distance from our Airbnb! Came in for a late lunch at 3 and there was no wait! All the workers were friendly & helpful We went with the half rack of ribs which was delicious!!! The meat was flavorful, tender, and the ribs were a good size! We could barely finish the 6 ribs between the two of us. Also the sauces they have are amazing! Love the spicy and sweet one combined. Also got the baked beans and the corned hash sides, both hit the spot! It paired with the ribs super well. Super cheap for the amount of food we got! Only cost 16 bucks for all food, definitely a steal. The only reason I give 4 stars(more like 4.5) is because the quality of the meat could be better, but for such an amazing price I can’t complain! :)

We got take out again through work and no one had cash–(just cards) I placed the orders over the phone, when we picked it up the orders got mixed up– because the(new) guy I spoke with didn’t take names to match with the orders– but after having the food I forgot about it– This place gets busy anyway because there food is awesome — and I had the signature fave–(the bob) yumm!

Nothing like some good BBQ in Denver! Ribs are juicy, flavorful, and big! Their sauces are on fire, just how I like it. When you come here at Yazoo, make sure to order a side of Hash Brown Casserole. It’s hash brown mixed in with some good creamy mac and cheese. Great idea! :)

OMG it like southern BBQ!!! a rare find for Colorado! beware the portions are large, so if your with someone share the sides. They have a variety of sauces, but in all truth you don’t need it. I still miss the hickory sauce but they have a mustard one that keeps your mouth yelling«yes yes yes»! Parking is limited and its a walk up counter with a bar upstairs. You can order the beer with your food and either get it upstairs or they will bring it out to you if your hanging out downstairs. Seating is tight and don’t be afraid to go Euro style and sit with a stranger. The Open deck upstairs is a fabulous way to feel the Denver sun on lunch break

Dayummm. This is cheap, no-frills BBQ at its best. The meat isn’t the BEST, but if you can feed two people comfortably at less than $ 6 a person, then this is my jam. We walked here after day-drinking at the Great Divide brewery. We got three meats, two buns, and a bag of chips for $ 11. You can choose from the following meats: 1⁄8 lb of brisket, 1⁄8 lb of pulled pork, two ribs, four wings, one link of sausage… there’s probably more that I’m forgetting. Our butcher was a congenial man, giving us an extra rib because ours were on the shorter side. My favorite meat was definitely the fork-tender ribs. The chopped brisket was so-so, I wish they had sliced brisket instead. They have four different sauces: regular, spicy, gold, and St Louis style sauce.

Amazing BBQ. The chicken and pork are delicious. The hot sauce is the best. Hashbrown casserole is to die for. A must visit for sure.

Yazoo is the most solid BBQ spot in d-town, in my humble opinion. They have a simple menu composed of ribs, brisket, chicken, and pork. They also have wings which are phenomenal. The meat on the wings just falls off the bone. I usually opt for ribs which are St Louis style(I really wish they had baby backs) but that’s a whole other story. The sides are simple as well, beans, slaw, potato salad, and the hash brown casserole(you must get the casserole!). Portions are good for the $ and you definitely won’t leave here hungry. During the warmer months they have a sweet rooftop patio with cornhole!

I came here with a group of friends and colleagues after we completed a community service project downtown. I tend to feel like others like BBQ from places that I’m not a particular fan of so I entered with a little trepidation. Not to fear though! (1) We had a party of about 10 people, they took our orders with no problems or fuss. (2) Everyone marveled at how tasty the food was. I had a dozen wings with a slide of slaw and a drink(all for about $ 13). The wings were smoked to perfection and not dry ATALL. I didn’t even need to add sauce to them, but on a whim I decided to take a few leftovers home to my husband and included the«gold» sauce. He raved about the combination. (3) We were there on a Sunday so there were a few games on. They had big screen TVs downstairs, but they also had TVs and drinks upstairs for the adult only crew. We appreciated this because we had some preteens in our group and we could still watch the game without them having to be around a slightly rowdier adult crowd. Will I return? You bet! I think I may have found my new favorite wing spot!

I have been pretty under the weather lately, and I have been trying to take it easy. The task is most definitely easier said than done. For the few errands we(my roommate and I) ran yesterday, I told him he was behind the wheel– and he can pick where we eat. I was wondering what he kept looking for as we were driving down Broadway, and so I asked, he said a «BBQ» place I have been to before. I told him, «if it was Yazoo, you just passed it. Nice try.» And it was, so we turned around going through the maze of streets to get back. And we did. Pretty much the only saving grace about this place is that is has its own private lot– with 2 entries/exits. And it has a patio as well. After that(at least for last night), it was all down here from there. We got there right before 1830, and there were only 3 other cars in the lot. Can’t be too busy, right? When I walked in, I saw there was an upstairs bar. Downstairs, there are a bunch of 4 top tables with aluminum chairs(mind you, I wouldn’t recommend sitting in those chairs if you are a certain weight, I was almost for sure I was going to crush one of the chairs when I sat down– thankfully I didn’t). Then, there is a counter you walk up to and order. There is a TV screen with the menu options. It was my time to order, I got the ½ lb brisket sandwich with a hot link and a side of hash brown casserole. I got a fountain soda cup as well. My roomie got a rack of ribs, a hot link, and cole slaw. When he ordered a hot link, the cashier got snappy with him, like that isn’t a side. Who gives a shit, it’s on the menu? Is he not allowed to order 2 meats(when they clearly have multi meat combos as well!)? While I was waiting for them to make my roomie’s plate(I was paying), there was a lady standing next to me(kind of in the way, but oh well) trying to read the menu. The cashier snapped at her, and pretty much handed her a to-go menu and shooing her off. When she walked away, I heard make the comment about how hectic the day has been and yada yada. Chill, dude. I then paid(in the tip area on receipt, I should have wrote«chill the hell out». But I didn’t. Instead, I gave him a $ 5 tip. He then proceeded to grab the receipt(damn near ripped it out of my hand) and head to the kitchen. Well f– you too then! How rude?! Really? I put my stuff down at a table(near the sauces) and went to see what they had to offer. Looks like they have a selection of 5 – 6 sauces, something for everyone. I got hot, and super hot. When I went to fill up my cup with Dr. Pepper, it came out like Dr. Sprite. God forbid I have the crazy cashier flip out on me for telling him hes out of Dr. Pepper, so I ended up getting Fanta(orange). I ate the link first, dipping it in the sauce. That was the best part of the meal. The super hot, actually had a decent kick to it. And, even the next morning, did not tear up my stomach. Then I ate the hash brown casserole. It was under cooked and under seasoned. I even poured some sauce on top of it to try to save it but the fact it didn’t nullify the fact it was under cooked didn’t help at all. I saved the sandwich for last, since it was do damn juicy. I expected to save the best for last. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I put the hot sauce on it and started taking bites. A lot of it fell on the plate(and the floor, thanks to the weird angle of the seats). The whole time I am eating it, I am thinking to myself, «where is the seasoning?» My roomie said the same thing about his ribs– there wasn’t any seasoning! He then offered me some of his sweet sauce, saying that helped it out. After eating the sandwich, I covered the dropped trimmings in the sauce and proceeded to eat them. It did taste better, but not by too much. The whole meal was $ 45, after tip, with no booze(apparently they have a «new» bar upstairs). Since I only enjoyed a $ 4(the hot link) portion of that meal, I really can’t think of any reasons to come back here except to ask for a refund. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

The service was fast, food was decent(brisket sandwich with coleslaw) & the price affordable! I was eyeing someone’s rib tips, boy did they look delicious! Has a very casual environment with a friendly staff.

This isn’t the best BBQ in the world, but it’s certainly not the worst. Denver strikes me as a bit of a dead city, especially on weekends, even at night, so when I came here, there wasn’t anyone around, and they were putting up chairs at prime dinnertime. Regardless, the counter where you order has all the meat right there, and right after ordering, everything is chopped right in front you. For under $ 10, you can get a 3-meat combo, which is honestly a steal. There’s a lot of meat, plus cheap sides(not much more than $ 1 if at all). I got ribs, wings, and brisket. Reading some of the reviews, I feel like the quality of each meat might vary by day… personally, I had great ribs, okay wings, and pretty dry brisket – too dry to get much flavor out of things. Honestly though, for me the ribs were enough of a hit that it’s worth the 4 stars I’m giving the place. The service is pretty friendly, and they give a nice variety of sauces for you to be able to use… I personally really enjoyed the Goldberg’s BBQ sauce, a sweetish barbecue sauce that really went well with the ribs. I’d rather try a new place than go here again if I were to be in Denver again, but if I, say, lived there, I can see myself becoming a regular here. Simple, cheap, fast, and good food.

I had the pleasure of eating a lunch plate here. The meat was delicious. I thought they would have options between beef and pork barbecue but their other meat choices were good nonetheless. I had the beef tip plate with potato hash and bbq beans. The beans were delicious and not too sweet. The hash is almost like a macaroni and cheese mix with potatoes. It was delicious. The meat was good. It wasn’t warm in fact it was a little room temperature so I feel I didn’t get to enjoy it as much. I tried the hot and sweet sauces at first and I loved the sweet sauce but the hot wasn’t that good. Maybe because they leave the sauces out and it may have been sitting too long. I had some left overs so I am hoping to try the super hot tonight. I look forward to trying again and go upstairs to the bar. I’m hoping to Be able to give a five star review.
