Yogurt Guru

This is not my usual place for froyo so the first time I went here I was already, well, disappointed. Very selections of yogurt. I also heard it was closed before but I have no clue what happened to this place now. One thing for sure, I am not coming back here.

I can’t imagine this place will be in business much longer. They were closed for a number of months to apparently remodel, can anyone tell me what changes were made? I honestly cannot tell what, if anything, was done to the interior? As far as I can tell they closed for months in order to strategize about how to take a decent froyo shop in a solid location and turn it into the shittiest yogurt place in the city.
I’ve been several times since they reopened with each trip being successively worse than the last. For some reason I tried to go today only to find that they were closed, in the middle of the day, on a Saturday… in August. Maybe they’ve already closed for good, if not, their last day is likely near, because this place has no desire to succeed.

Half decent selection of yogurt. But there were NO topping options. Maybe 10 to choose from and of those 10, 4 were out. The kid behind the counter could care less. They also close super early for the Highlands. I guess that’s why Sweet Cow has a line out the door and this place has nobody. Go to SWEET COW instead!!!

This place is the worst. Such a small selection of yogurt options not to mention they just close the store some days. There are so many better frozen yogurt options in Denver

Maybe it’s the fact we caught this guy on a bad night.
Maybe it’s the fact it was about 90° in his shop (why wasn’t the door open to let in the refreshingly cool outdoor air?)
Maybe it’s the fact this yogurt is compared in a not so great way to other yogurt places.
The guy manning the store last night was a grump.
My dad was trying to make small talk with him as the rest of us were deciding what flavor combos to get (I went with plain, it was delicious & hit the spot) & he responded with some comment about how no one reads signs. Then, when I paid with my debit card, he takes the sheet that printed out & promptly crumbles it up with no explanation. I asked for a copy of the receipt & he says «this is what printed out, I don’t think it’ll help you much.» … he’s right, the receipt wasn’t a receipt, just a bunch of lines on the edge of the paper. How about letting your customers know that your printer isn’t working? A little communication goes a long way.
The product itself fell short of other places in town. It was ridiculously soft (again, maybe from the sauna like atmosphere) and the flavors weren’t quite there…

Great selection of FroYo and toppings. Its measured by weight. I love the location and the staff are friendly!

Moved to the neigborhood about a year ago, and went to Yogurt Guru several times when the weather was warm. Never that impressed, but it was close by. Always liked it okay, but today they lost my business after I tried to get my «one free small cup» after buying 10. But it’s a lie. No free small.
Now, their small cups are big, which is presume is because they want you to fill it up since you’re paying by weight. So, this time we did. A few flavors, a few toppings. It wasn’t overflowing, just full. I mean we’d been saving up for this free one! But when we got to the register the super rude salesgirl said I owed $ 2.89. She didn’t seem to understand our frustration at all.
False advertising. Rude service. Blah.

Disappointed! No hot fudge! Generic Reese peanut butter cups. Limited toppings. Go one more mile to menchies

My favorite yogurt place! I do chocolate & peanut butter flavors and top it with anything chocolate-​y, in true fat-​kid style, not too much yogurt tang in the flavor (which is something I prefer, but not everyone does). Watch those bowls though, their size makes it deceptive as far as how much you’ve actually put in there…
My complaint, however, is the same here as it is for (almost) every other fro-​yo place: too much effing pink! That’s okay though, I like to buy and then go for a walk while eating.

A solid average. The yogurt is «ok», the service is «ok» the price is «ok». I tried the plain (as I do everywhere) and it was not tangy how I like it. It just had too much sugar. If I want so much sugar, I’ll get ice cream!

I was hearing the call of fro-​yo that was not to be ignored. Remembering it from seeing it out of the corner of my eye as I drove past earlier in the day on another errand in the Highlands, I decided this would be the place.
Like most frozen yogurt joints, Yogurt Guru is super bright inside, both from the fluorescent lights and the popping neon colors of the décor. It’s also somewhat cold (I suppose that helps the yogurt…). I get the impression these places pick bright colors to try and shock away the coldness but they’re not fooling me! Not that I care so much because it’s summer and it’s frozen yogurt and we have no A/​C at the house so whatever.
YG offers standard daily flavors: vanilla, chocolate, tart, etc. Too many to list and too many that I can’t remember (but that can be found on their website). Also, they have «seasonal» flavors; apparently summer is the season for Red Velvet. That said, I can’t wait for pumpkin pie flavor (next spring, perhaps).
On my first visit in I tried: Red Velvet, Cake Batter, and no sugar added Cinnamon Bun. Upon the taste from the sample cup, I didn’t taste the artificial sweetener in the Cinnamon Bun. Perhaps my tongue was frozen from all the sampling. But now that I’m finished and writing this review, I’m having a hard time getting that taste out of my mouth. So if you’re not a fan of fake-​sugar, I suggest reading the labels closely and avoiding the NSA flavors. Beyond that, the Red Velvet and the Cake Batter were swell. Red Velvet was basically like chocolate cake batter, so it was the best of both worlds. And I couldn’t tell for sure, but it wasn’t terrifyingly red, so I’m not sure if they use «natural» colors (vegetable/​fruit juices), or if they just took it easy on the Red No. 40…
I was pretty disappointed that they do not have brownie bites as a topping choice. First of all: what the heck. There’s nothing I love more than topping dessert with other dessert chunks. Second of all: those little bites pack a weighty punch so why not? You could add more to people’s tabs with them brownies. So I took a star off for that. I should say, however, that they do have frosted animal cookies (the drenched kind that are pink and white with crunchy nonpareils). This were sufficient (and will be again in the future), but I was really hoping for some serious chocolate action. YG certainly doesn’t have the most vast topping selection I’ve seen, but I reckon most could find something, if not somethingS. I added «cinnamon crunch» to the Cinnamon Bun, which was a nice addition.
Service was friendly and business seemed bustling. There are a few tables inside, but also a couple more tables and some benches outside for seating options. For its location, Yogurt Guru is the place to hit up for frozen yogurt, an okay selection of toppings, and lots of Highlands dog watching. Huzzah.
P. S. Free Wi-​Fi here, just ask for the password! You know, in case you want to write a novel and eat lots of frozen yogurt while you do it…

Best Cookies and Cream! OH YEA.

Not shabby as a Yogurt place, that is for sure, but they don’t quite make it to the awesome level of Yogurtland or Yogurtini — my two fav yogurt places in the big CO.
I like that they name the swirl options, and actually put thought into which two are together. Cake batter and pink lemonade sound much more tasty together than pistachio and mango tart (yeah, I’ve seen that mix elsewhere). I appreciate that they have boba pearls and mochi, but am saddened by their lack of lychee nuts and evaporated milk (my two faves). Plus, they don’t life which yogurts are gluten free, and that would be helpful.
All in all, a pretty good yogurt place; not top of the line, but certainly better than some I have tried. I’ll be back!

Best yogurt shop we’ve been to, and we’ve tried a bunch. It is a great dessert option.

I love the yogurt at this place. It isn’t overly sugary, tastes natural, and really solid flavor selection, especially for a smaller place. The toppings are a little lack-​luster, however and the place is laid out in a strange way, so that it gets really crowded in the back, while there is no one in the front half of the store, there is little method to the madness. I like that it is in the neighborhood, and that it seems «family» and family friendly, so we will be back!

I strolled in here after sitting in the sunshine and craving frozen yogurt. We stood around checking things out for awhile and said, «hello?» a few times before finally finding a worker here. They only had one sample cup left so we had to share and since we couldn’t find anyone that worked here we had to fend for ourselves. The toppings are nice and the options for yogurt were good. I like it better than the other yogurt place that opened on 32^nd on the other side of federal and I’m happy that there’s one closer to my house but it’s really just a yogurt place. Nothing too special about it. Different yogurt’s, different toppings. no cones.

I’m usually a big fan of frozen yogurt but not at places that charge so much per pound in addition to having such a small selection of yogurt and toppings (0.43 cents at Yogurt Guru and much cheaper at other places). Yogurt Guru is very consistent in keeping up the appearances of a Pink Berry or Yogurtland. However, Yogurt Guru lacks in setting themselves a part by neglecting to consider even the littlest of details such as creative funky spoons or napkins with the logo printed on them.
The establishment is nicely situated on 32^nd Street with plenty of foot traffic and passers by so I have no doubt they will pull in curious customers. I personally wouldn’t come back for reasons of limited selection and limited seating area.

This is a fun place — really great frozen yogurt, but don’t go hog-​wild because the price will add up especially because their «regular» bowl is pretty darn huge.
I tried their Orange Sherbet, Peanut Butter, Milk Chocolate, Cherry, and a couple of other things and they were all wonderful.
There are fewer toppings than Pinkberry, but enough to have a really nice experience. The strawberry bobas… OH MY GOD — quite possibly the yummiest thing ever. I’m debating on going back and just getting a bowl full of those.

Yay! A self serve yogurt place in the Highlands. We came here last Tuesday right after dinner at El Camino. My friends were already buckled up in their car when we noticed it was open. They love frozen yogurt, so we had to try it. The Yogurt Guru is a small location but has a lot to offer. They had about 10 different flavors of yogurt and one non-​dairy sorbet. We all agreed the flavors were awesome. Compared to other yogurt shops, they don’t have as many toppings but what they had was enough. A lot less choices that made the decision (s) easier!
We’re excited to walk here when it gets warmer and sit outside. Enjoy!
