You’re going to the best martial arts in the area when you go to Z-​Ultimate. Rates are comparable to others but you get private training and unlimited group classes. Instructors are super professional, the studio is very clean, and the people you train with are friendly. Z-​Ultimate teaches very practical self defense along with the values you should have to back it. It’s also the best workout you’ll ever get.

My son had been going there for years and attained the rank of blue-​belt w/​green stripe. The fees are very high $ 2000 per year (more if you don’t prepay a year in advance), but we liked the individualized attention. However, our dojo closed by our house and we were off-​loaded to the Broadway facility. There, the traffic, parking, the double-​sized group classes, (not to mention the drunks sleeping in their parking lot), became an issue. The Sensei kept saying that they were planing to get a new dojo, but nearly a year later – nothing. I was lied to about them waiting for financing, and given the general run-​around.
Here’s the crux: This is a greed-​laden enterprise. First, after four years as a customer, we never received a call or any concern about why we were not showing up any more. Second, our instructor admitted that part of belt advancement for the instructors was based on business performance as well as skill. How does that help the customer? Thirdly, Z-​Ultimate lost a jury award of $ 7.7 Million to United Studios of Self Defense in a Lawsuit Against Z-​Ultimate. (Which you can search the particulars on the internet.)
We spent close to 10 grand on my son’s training. Don’t make the same mistake. Look for martial artists who embody the principle they preach. Z-​Ultimate is anything but «Ultimate».

I have been a student here for almost a year and a half now, and am doing things I never thought I would have the coordination to do!
There are several reasons why I’ve surpassed my expectations with my martial arts studies. First and foremost, the instructors there are passionate about what they do and it comes through in their teaching. They really care about each and every one of the students. The private lessons are especially helpful. They have a way of pointing out what you need to work on while always remaining encouraging!
Secondly, the other students there work hard and are inspiring. It’s great to see what you’ll be doing at the next rank if you work hard and stick with the program!
Finally the workouts and techniques themselves are challenging, practical, and are very cumulative — always building on what you’ve learned previously. I just can’t see studying anywhere else. What a great group!
