Rockaway River Country Club

This review is only for the food and service at the corporate event held at the club house.
The club house itself is nicely decorated.
We had shrimp cocktail and lamb chops stations both of which were amazing! The shrimp was huge and firm. Lamb chops were melting in my mouth — it was a little cold after sitting at the station but still really good. There were a few appetizers passed around — I tried a roll filled with ground beef, it was ok.
I had arugula Parmesan salad for dinner as an appetizer. It also had pine nuts in it and the dressing was really good. I had NY strip 16oz steak for entrée. It was well cooked, but the meat itself was just ok (maybe wrong cut?). It came with sautéed spinach that tasted plain and chewy. The side of rice cake was amazing! It also had pine nuts in it.
We had a choice of a cheesecake or lava cake for dessert. The cheesecake was creamy and tasty, but pretty basic flavor. Lava cake was moist, but I like the center of lava cake to be liquid. So for me it was more a chocolate cake than lava cake.
The service throughout the night was top noch. There was always someone around to attend to your needs. All the waiters were really nice.

Opportunity to Play here today in a Golf outing and sitting in Suburbs of Western NJ is a very nice Private Golf & Country Club that if you don’t know it exists you will never know but very happy I had an oppotunity to play here today.
Clubhouse is small and basic but has all the ameneties needed for a Golf /​CC… Nice member grill room, showers,. banquet rooms, outside terrace and an adequate proshop.
Tennis courts are down by the golf Driving ranger which as both regular grass and matts when it gets too wet.
Course itself is a North East Layout of undulating fairways and Greens, with difficult but fair rough. Greens are slick and are also receptive which is tough to do. Maintained to perfection, the course plays it’s lenght but at the same time it is VERY FAIR all around.
Lunch and reception by staff was well preprered and all food was very good. Service was excellent all day.
In short if you have an opportunity to play this track it is a DONT MISS.
