I have a maintenance contract with Emerald; I had scheduled a check-up for my furnace to take place on December 23rd. A short check-up became a 4 hour visit. A small crack was found on the heat exchange and a couple suspect areas that I got to see for myself with their nifty camera on the end of a snake used to view areas that are not externally visible. Darrell came over right away to provide a 2nd opinion and it was determined that I needed a new furnace. We went over my options for a new furnace. There was absolutely no pressure on what furnace to choose; only facts given and information provided to help me decide the best option for my circumstances. I was lucky this time because the external temperature was mild. But, the guys still dropped off two heaters for me in case my house got cold that evening. They were able to get their hands on the furnace I wanted and installed it the next morning on Christmas Eve! Everything was cleaned up and completed by 1pm by Steve and Jake. I must also mention that Emerald replaced my central air unit a year and a half ago and at that time I had a maintenance contract with a different company for years. I am usually very loyal but when I needed help and they did not respond to me because it was off hours; I found Emerald and I said that I know not having air in the summer isn’t an emergency but could someone help me on a Sunday? They responded, «If it is important to you; it is important to us.» They were there Sunday at the dinner hour. Emerald won me over. Service is extremely important to me and they win hands down; not to mention they are polite and pleasant and caring for your circumstance.

Fixed my problem, however, they do not apply their estimate fee(~$ 80) to the job. I understand that estimate fees are necessary to cover costs involved with losing bids on large jobs where there are estimates from multiple companies, however, they should be included when you choose them for the fix, especially when it’s a small job. I shouldn’t have to pay extra just because the guy they send doesn’t have the time, equipment, or supplies to just fix it on the spot. They did a great job, but I’m going to avoid them for small jobs in the future, it’s ridiculous to pay $ 80 to have someone tell you they’ll be back to fix your $ 200 problem.

Excellent service, customer care and promptness. I have used them for the past four years. Marty got me a great deal on my new furnace and remembered installing my new furnace, when I called them back out to clean my new furnace this past winter.
