I have been going to this Walgreens for the past few years since it is on my way home everyday. So sometimes I like to get my Arizona Arnold Palmer half and half fix. They are usually 99 cents and sometimes 2 for 1 dollar which is great and of course there is no tax. So this past week I went there 2 days in a row. The first day I bought an Arizona Raspberry tea and an Arnold Palmer, both were 99 cents each. So I paid $ 1.98 with no tax. That was normal. So the second day I get the same thing and this time the total came out to $ 2.07. I asked why is there tax and the cashier said because the Arnold Palmer has flavor in it. Obviously this cashier had no idea what she was talking about. I explained to her that I came the day before and there was no tax and she said I was wrong. So I asked if I could speak to the manager. The manager came and said there has always been tax on Arnold Palmers. So I told her why there wasn’t tax on the other ice teas since they are pretty much the same and she said«there should be tax on those too but for some reason there not». They have a great system going on there! Also I’m pretty sure it is illegal to tax those. She also said«if you have a problem, you can speak to Erie county about it». I was furious by now, not because of the money but because they say I’ve been lying about coming here for years paying no tax on Arnold Palmer. But the stupidest thing that the manager told me that I was ripping them off for years then. This place needs to hire people that are not lazy to fix something in there system that they don’t want to admit is wrong. I probably won’t go back to a store that wants to rip me off 9 cents. If they are desperate for 9 cents, I will just give it to them. I just don’t understand how the manager couldn’t figure out that their system was wrong, how could it be taxed one day and taxed the next. I wish I would of saved the receipt from the day before so I could shove it in their faces.
