When I first visited this dentist office I loved it — Dr. Bronstein is friendly, personable, and really takes the time to chat with you and get to know you. But unfortunately I think he takes advantage of people with unnecessary procedures. He told me I had two small cavities, and then mentioned I had a couple of fillings that potentially need to be redone, but said they weren’t too bad and we could discuss it further when I came back to have the cavities filled. Okay, cool — I love that he said it would be a discussion and felt him saying that made him more trustworthy. I came back about a month later for 2 fillings. He was again friendly and kind and even remembered something we had talked about last time — I was impressed with his people skills. Then after my fillings he told me to go to the desk to make my appointment to get some of my fillings fixed. I said«oh, I thought you said it might not be necessary and we would discuss it?» He says«oh no, they definitely do need to be redone, they look really bad.» So, at this point I honest I should trust him, so I made the appointment, and again came back a month later to have these fillings redone. So I came back for another appointment. First of all I waited in the waiting room over an hour after my scheduled appointment time before they even took me back. Then it was almost another hour from there before he actually got started with me — in that time he seriously took someone who showed up over an hour after me, and they finished and left first before he got to me. And I had plans I didn’t assume I’d be late to, because I didn’t even consider the fact I’d be at the dentist for 2 and a half hours to have a few fillings redone. So then finally he redid them, then afterwards told me I should make another appointment because there were still some on the other side of my mouth he wanted to fix. Then he added a comment that I really don’t want silver fillings in my mouth and the white fillings would be much more appealing anyway. That’s when I realized I was being had. I was already really annoyed with how long it took, so I said I wasn’t sure if that’s really necessary and he told me it definitely was — and that when I came back we should also have a discuss about fixing my jaw alignment. What the hell? So I went to the front desk to pay and refused to make another appointment, I said I didn’t know my schedule and would give them a call to set it up. Instead I called a different dentist and went in for a second opinion, and surprise surprise, that dentist said there was nothing wrong with my other fillings, or with my jaw alignment. Definitely get a second opinion, or simply just don’t even both going to Dr. Bronstein.

Dr. Bronstein is a great dentist. Straight shooter so far as recommended procedures are concerned, accommodating to people who may not be as comfortable as can be in the chair, and flexible so far as payments are concerned. He offers a numbing mouthwash which is great if you are prone to gagging like myself, or if you’re undergoing a difficult procedure. I have been a patient for a few years now, and the experience is pleasant enough to keep me coming back, even though I’ve since moved to northeast Philly and he’s not exactly around the corner any more.

The staff was really nice and warm. Not your average dentist visit. The dentist took the time to listen to us and understand what we wanted. Services were provided very fast and efficiently. We went with the whole family and we were in and out in less than an hour.
