Hampton Inn

I enjoyed my 5 night stay at the Hampton in Derby. The hotel is well run. All of the staff I encountered were super polite, helpful, and friendly. My room was clean and well kept (except for the shower fittings, they were loose and I was worried they were going to fall off). I was booked in to a room with two beds. I always find this as a waste when traveling solo. It’s no big deal, but it did leave the room feeling quite cramped because I was traveling with two massively packed suitcases. Their wifi connection isn’t exactly top-​notch. I was bumped off on average once every other hour or so. But when I was connected it was plenty fast to stream anything I liked. Overall, I would be happy to stay here at the Hampton again.

When we first checked in we had to switch rooms because it was very apparent by the pee drops on the toilet, that our room had not been cleaned. When we asked to switch rooms I was unimpressed by the staff, and their lack of concern or apologies. The rooms were also FREEZING!!!
However, it was a fairly quiet location. The rooms were decent (when clean). The day time staff was nice, and there was hot breakfast. It’s a good place to stay for a couple days. I will be back due to convenience, but there are some areas to improve!

I have stayed here countless times. I do a lot of work with Spirit and travel a lot. I’ve stayed downtown and could care less about what it has to offer. I’m happy with BWW down the street and pizza the other nights. The beds are good, most people are on the same time schedule as me. Like any other hampton the breakfast is ok, but free. You get a fridge and a microwave. Perfect for a work trip.

Great place to stay. The room was clean and spacious, hotel staff was really nice. The only downside was the breakfast for me. Not as many options as other hamptons I’ve stayed in, and the options that we did have weren’t very good. Eggs were kinda weird tasting and the waffles were bland. But I would definitely stay here again, but would find a better option for breakfast.

I wrote a smashing review and Unilocal logged me out. Boo. Service, facility, and location are all five stars. Hot breakfast, yum. Higher end linens, comfy. I love this place for my high school team, and I am looking forward to next time we come to Derby for competition.

For the price, this is a great hotel. Breakfast is good and usually isn’t busy. Rooms were clean. Everything was stocked. Pool was clean. Hotel staff was nice and polite. This hotel is quiet also. Not too far from Wichita and there are plenty of places to eat near by. Definitely would stay again

Yep this place is nice and not next to a highway so it is peaceful. My room had a big space that just made me think that something was missing.

This appears to be a new hotel, but the other review shows it is at least 2 years old. Positives include: decent water pressure in the shower; tall ceilings in the bathroom and the shower head being probably about 6.5 — 7.0′ high; in addition to wifi, my room had a working ether net connection which proved to offer good speed on the internet; large, flat-​screen TV on a small-​footprint cabinet designed for flat screen TVs; clock radio has an MP3 input; and, room felt very clean.
Quirky aspects: I booked a room with a single Queen-​sized bed, but ended up with two double beds [in fairness, I did check in late, and the hotel appeared busy, and all of the other Hampton Inns in Wichita were booked that night]; no «Do Not Disturb» sign in my room to hang on the door; and, no cups were stocked in the bathroom.
In general, the hotel felt as if the designers were trying to use space very efficiently. Hallways and foyers felt a bit smaller than normal. The kitchen area is small. Not a lot of open space.
I didn’t see pricing to be significantly different from the Hampton north of town. [The Hampton near Beechcraft is much older, and is not as nice. It warrants a pricing discount, relatively speaking.]

The first thing that stands out about this place is the fact that it is brand new in appearance and the staff is very friendly though sometimes come off a little inexperienced.
The rooms are comfortable and the facility is well maintained.
I wish the fitness center was a little bigger but otherwise it is a great place to stay and is considerably cheaper than other Wichita Hampton properties.
