Rhonda the Owner/Manager seems to not care about the service to customers. Her lack of commitment and taking ownership of problems with the service proves she is not meant to work with people in a face to face environment. Been here a few times with my extended family and Rhonda seems to go out of her way to treat me other than an well paying customer. Several other customers tonight also had a problems/issues with their orders and they got up and left. Her lack of dressing the part of Manager/Owner and complete unprofessionalism could only mean that she is a miserable person who only cares about herself. I feel bad for the staff that has to work under her. While I understand we don’t live in a perfect world. There is always room for improvement and she does not care if you are a repeat customer.

My parents go here every Tuesday for dinner. If I can I join them and each time the manager makes me feel unwelcome. Tonight other members of my family joined us and though I ordered before others at our table, my food was the 2nd to last to come out. I ordered nachos. Seriously! How long does it take to make nachos?! My partner’s order was the last to come out which he refused due to it being over 45 minutes since he ordered that it finally came. The manager/part owner definitely needs to find another line of work. She offered no distinct reason for the delay of our food besides«I don’t know» when asked why. You’re the freaking manager and you don’t know what is going on in your establishment? The manager definitely profiles the customers and if she doesn’t like them, she is sure to make them(us) feel disrespected. I feel for the wait staff who is out on the front lines to deal with the lack of service. The level of customer service starts with the management. It’s unfortunate the manager is in her position especially when she chooses who she wants to be going there.

Wide variety of draft beers, bar space, tables, and menu. Sometimes the choices are hit and miss but they were offering chicken fried steak deal. The family enjoyed them and the steak. I decided to go with fish and chips and regretted it some because it was 80% batter and the rest fish. I’ll post a pic as well. Like other reviewers, sometimes the service is fantastic and bird dog. Other visits, I’ve sat with my family that arrived minutes prior and get no acknowledgment that I might also want to order beer or food and just left and ate elsewhere.

On the night of review a band was playing. Music was good. However no real place to dance if anyone had the interest. Service was good. Plenty of TVs.

Madrocks has some pros. The TVs are plentiful and the pizza is solid. Beer selection is decent although nothing to call home about. It was fun to be surrounded by KState fans during the bowl game even if the game wasn’t going in their favor. That being said, the service at this place sucks. It was just plain awful. Have you ever sat at a bar after being ignored for 10 minutes and thought, ‘did I get in a car accident on the way here? Am I alive? Am I a ghost? Can people see me?’, only to realize that the waitstaff is just ignoring you? That’s what happened with our party of four. It took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our existence, and after ordering drinks, the waitress brought out the wrong beers(to her credit, she brought replacements). We ordered some fried pickles for the table, which were actually quite tasty. I ordered a 12″ pizza and my parents ordered a 16″ pizza for our meals. My little brother ordered the catfish. The waitress input the pizza order incorrectly so my parents ended up with two 12″ pizzas(yay leftovers!), and she neglected to input my brother’s catfish order. The pizza was good, and the crust thin with a bit of crunch. Alas, I cannot comment on the catfish(please see comment above). At least they removed the catfish from the bill, but it was not enough to negate the terrible service for the rest of the meal. I’m sure the waitress will find her calling, although I have high confidence it will not be in the restaurant business. I will not be returning unless it is to sit at the bar which appeared to have great service.

Defiantly has the curb appeal! Defiantly does not a the pallet appeal. Should’ve guessed when we walked in and the place was empty. My margarita was nothing but chunks of ice. Nothing stood out on the menu. This was disappointing

It would have been better if we didn’t have to be here for two hours. Food was okay, the service is what kills it here. It wasn’t even busy!

I had the nachos and they were decent. Bathroom, floor, and tables were clean. Everybody that I was with said that their food was average. Service was friendly and timely.

Neat sports bar. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and nice seating. There are two large projections screens and many flat screens. Agree that the service was not fantastic — but I have no complaints. Buffalo Chicken Salad: Six boneless wings were crunchy with buffalo wing sauce. Fresh lettuce, Tortilla strips, bacon bits, blue cheese, tomatoes also on salad. I would have it again. Pork Chops: very well seasoned. Delicious. Good value. French fries were slighltly crunchy but I would have liked them crunchier. The atmosphere would be great for watching a game — think buffalo wild wings style but locally owned. For Derby, its a good choice for a sports bar.

Love the environment. If you want you can come fast and get out in 20 – 30 minutes. Or you can stay and watch some sports with the locals. All the waitors/waitresses are very nice, and so are the managers. The TVs are set up very nicely, very nice. The managers will get a certain TV to suit what you want to watch. Now, the food. Its delicious. Its like bar food, with more sandwich selection, but made with much better quality. They have specials every day, bar and food. Usually a quiet place(beware of adequate WSU and KU games if you want a peaceful dinner) although at nights it is know to get a little rowdy(on weekends of course). Last, the bar. Wide selection, and lots of TVs right there on the bar. Really great place, for local and newbies.
