Outstanding comes to mind when I think of Rib Crib. Tuesday is all-you-can-eat ribs and sides. We go at least once a month. St. Louis style, delicious, mouth watering sauces to squirt on makes for good eats! The onion rings are good!

Good food, liked the ambiance. I got the ribs, which were divine. Kids liked it, hubby liked it. Pricier than the other BBQ joints in town, but hey, it’s a full-service restaurant. We’ll definitely be back.

Pretty good variety of my menu-stuffed potatoes and salads are my favorite, but all you can eat barbecue on Tuesday nights is a great deal if you come with an appetite. The service is always good and fast. Drive through is also a bonus.

Love this place so much. Pulled pork sandwich and their fries, which are seasoned and so good, is my go to.

As a benefit of a doubt, along with being BBQ aficionados via having been to some of the very best BBQ places in America, we went there for the first time last night, and will not be returning. Seems some of the negative remarks are still spot on, such as mediocre food(the meats were dry and tasteless), and way over-priced for the quality(especially), and quantity, of which could be more substantial providing the food was better. Then there’s the BBQ Sauce, which combines both high levels of High-Fructose Corn Syrup(HFCS), and Corn Syrup Sucrose — a Mono-Sodium Glutamate(MSG) equivalent concoction which is meant to enhance flavors — unacceptable. So, last night was our first visit, and last. From now on when we want good BBQ, we’ll just fire up the grill in our back yard, or go to KC, both of which are unquestionably superior to what this so-called BBQ place called The Rib Crib has to offer. Update — 12FEB2016: Went to the new Hog Wild in Derby, and their food is far better than that served at The Rib Crib(1 Star on their best day). Plus, their portions are bigger, and the entrees are less expensive than The Rib Crib’s as well. Therefore, I give Hog Wild in Derby 3.5 Stars out of 5.

Rib Crib is convenient for us as Derby residents. But we really go because the food is consistently, reliably good. I know I’ll enjoy my meal when I come here. My favorite is their sliced chicken dinner with their coleslaw(which I especially like). My honey usually gets a triple-meat combos; pulled pork, smoked sausage, and brisket with their baked beans(which he especially likes). The servers are mostly high school kids and are very friendly and competent. If you want to indulge in an after dinner treat, I recommend their peach cobbler!

I have been coming here for a while and the food is really good you will have lots of food to choose from. The desert is a great part, ice cream and cake. With that said the food isn’t anything special and the service is sometimes really good sometimes ok and sometime well bad. But that is it. I do request this place for all you steak lovers

Was here last week on my way to MN and stopped on my way back to TX. I was seated right away even though the parking lot was full. I had the turkey and rib combo with beans and fries. The food was great and the service was great. I wish we had one closer to our house.

This place is horrible. Meats were beyond dry, service sucked, and price vs portions is ridiculous. Also every single high chair was broken. Will never eat here again.

Food: 0⁄5 Ambience: 1.5÷5 Service: 2⁄5 Dishes tried: Pulled pork, sliced brisket, ribs, cole slaw, bbq beans, and fried okra. When I walked in around noon on a Saturday, there was one occupied table and no one else around. I stood around for a few minutes when a waitress finally told me that I can have a seat anywhere. The place is a little dark inside and is decorated in a way that makes sense for a bbq joint. The restaurant, however, was very dirty. As I walked around looking for a clean table, I noticed plenty of sticky spots on the floor that was sticking to my shoes. Most of the tables looked greasy and bbq sauced. Flies all over the place, you would think that the flies are the true patrons and the people are the pests. I can only imagine how dirty the kitchen might be, but I forced myself to take my mind off of that topic. I finally sat down at the cleanest table I could find and waited another several minutes for that same waitress to bring me a menu. I didn’t feel like waiting anymore, so I ordered a bunch of items I saw on their website to try and have leftovers. The ribs were rock hard. There were literally meaty portions that my teeth failed to bite through. I did a bite test on all the other ribs with similar results. The sauce was sweet and spiced, but tasted pretty awful. Needless to say, I did not touch the ribs again. The pulled pork was dry and flavorless. The sliced brisket was, you guessed it, dry and flavorless. Adding bbq sauce to the meats just made them taste sweet and seasoned in a bad way. The fried okra was scorched and flavorless and the cole slaw was soggy and gross. The bbq beans tasted like canned bbq beans, which isn’t bad. Not good, but not a disaster like everything else. I ate all the beans and asked for a check. The waitress didn’t care that I barely ate anything and that I didn’t ask for a box. Sometimes I drive by the restaurant in the evening and see the parking lot packed. I envy people that can find joy in that kind of food… or maybe I just went on a really bad day. Even the best bbq joints have bad days. On second thought, I have never seen that kind of atrocity from any bbq joint on their worst day. That combined with the dirty surroundings and lousy service makes this a trifecta for an unfavorable review.

Every Tuesday night is all-you-can-eat rib night, and that’s where you’ll find me. I’m easy to spot — the guy with a pile of ribs in front of him and a big smile. Then again, looking around, I see several other guys just like me! Parking on that night is always tough, but persistence will reward you. My gal pal doesn’t like ribs, so she orders from the menu and chooses to mix it up. Her favorites are the pulled pork, sausage links, brisket and occasionally she’ll get the turkey. Those are good, but I’m all about the ribs. I also really enjoy the baby-backs; they’re a few dollars more, but if you like them they’re worth it. I’m more of a St. Louis type of guy; they’re dry-rubbed, perfectly smoked and not fatty. I find they’re great as is, but the sauce choices are adequate. You can also blend them to suit your own heat; it’s all good. My favorite sides are the fresh & tasty coleslaw and the smokey beans. The okra is good and the fries fresh & hot but I’m too old and stuck in my ways. I no longer live in Derby, but it’s still worth the drive to «scratch that itch» when it needs to be. If you’ve never tried it, you should go at least once and see for yourself. BBQ is a matter of personal taste and folks have their favorites, but basing your choices solely on other’s opinions is narrow minded. If you decide to go on Tuesday, give me a wave; I’m the guy with sauce ear-to-ear and a big smile!

The only thing I order now are the ribs, baked beans, & coleslaw. Those items are good. The chicken is dry and chopped, not shredded. The brisket is dry as well. So disappointing. Oh, the brisket casadilla is excellent!

I’m usually not that negative but BBQ is one of the things that I care about. With that being said this was by far the worst tasting BBQ I have tasted. I ordered a rack of ribs that I swear they pulled off of a mummy. The meat was dry and totally flavorless. There was no evidence of any smoke ever hitting these ribs. I figured OK maybe they rely on the sauce to get them by… WRONGANSWER, it tasted like a cheap tomato based store brand. I’ve eaten at a lot of bad places, but none have ever compelled me blog about it. If you are looking for authentic BBQ this is the wrong place… drive a few miles north on Rock Rd to Hog Wild BBQ.

This place is ok for BBQ but not a place I crave for. I find the meat can be a little dry and not a fan of the BBQ sauce.

Love this place! It is a tiny bit pricey so I don’t go as often as I’d like. But thhe food is so tasty! I’ve loved everything I’ve tried on the menu. They have giant baked potatoes with your choice of meat and all of the fixin’s. The pulled pork is moist and smoky. They have a couple different styles of sace and all are yummy! The wait staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. Interesting atmosphere as well.

We arived at 14:22 and were seated immediately. Our waitress was fun and friendly. She had plenty of menu suggestions when asked and knows the menu well. The food arrived quickly and was cooked well and flavorful but dry. It required sauce to be abpe to eat it. I prefer a moist BBQ that does not need sauce. The mashed potatos were excellent!

I love Rib Crib and make the drive from NW Wichita to Derby several times a month to eat it. The service is always amazing — the food comes out quick — and it tastes amazing! I can’t wait to win the lottery and open one in West Wichita!
