I am only giving it 2 starts because I liked the pancakes and the Capuccino was also good. The omelettes and sandwiches are average. Potatoes were cold. There is no natural OJ. Juices are self served(bottled) Coffee took forever(after we were done with breakfast) to be served. Place is nice and cozy and staff is friendly but they need some more training on customer service. I wouldnt return

I was hungry waiting for an oil change so a friend and i came here. My friend got a salad and i got the eggplant sandwich with mozz, pesto, tomatoes on a hard roll and I must say that was one of the best eggplant sandwiches I’ve had in a long time.

It’s places like this that I’m thankful for Unilocal.Cute café, pizza place in downtown Derby is probably one of he nicest places too with friendly service, and clean, updated décor. I stopped by to grab a quick breakfast and got a big plate of eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast. Best part was that the toast was nice fresh pieces. The eggs were a little too over easy but that’s an easy fix for kitchen. And the home fries were delish. Nice chunks of real potatoes that weren’t too mushy and over cooked. Good coffee as well. Otherwise, a real enjoyable little place in a town that doesn’t have a lot of choices.

I was in town for a meeting and I stopped in for breakfast. What a lovely place. The staff are down to earth and friendly. The food, an omelette, was delicious. It’s a wonderful place — homey with excellent food. I look forward to coming back and trying the pulled pork sandwiches.

Cute little café, that serves a variety of things from breakfast to dinner. A friend had a spinach omlet here that was great. We’ve been here a couple of times and tried the pizza, which was very good. Service each time was good. Place is VERY clean!!! Keep up the great work, we’ll keep spreading the word!

I really like this little place. I just move to CT about 2 weeks ago and I fell upon this place because of Unilocal. First encounter was breakfast. I had a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, hot peppers, cheese, and carmalized onions on a pita. It was fantastic! The waitress Elyse was incredibly personable and helpful. She encouraged my father and I to come back for lunch and to try the newly opened bar downstairs. Second encounter was lunch. Their sandwich menu is extensive and I honestly want to try them all. The full sandwich was large enough for me that I had left overs. I also tried a slice of pepperoni pizza which was cooked perfectly and the crust was what I expected of east coast pizza(I moved from Chicago so I understand the pizza conundrum I find myself in). Third encounter was dinner. I sat at the bar downstairs and Chrystal the bartender was incredibly sweet and everyone talked to me like I had been coming there for years. It is not a full bar(beer and wine) but the service and atmosphere are nice — very down to earth. I came on a Tuesday night which is $ 1 taco night. It is build your own style and there are so many options. My favorite has to be the Cajun chicken. I also took a pizza home that was great reheated.

I work very close to the restaurant. Swamped at work, it’s like 240pm. I need something to eat. I read their menu, it’s says delivery. I call, say I want a delivery, they take my order and then tell me I need to order more they have $ 15 min delivery. Which is not in the menu where they claim to deliver not did they explain when I said I wanted delivery. Feels arbitrary. No thanks. I sent my money to Bar None, they deliver. No issues. Too bad Ok I tried agin today. Order the chicken soup over the phone. Brought back to work to find its chicken noodle. These noodles just have been soaking in this soup ALLDAY. it’s like eating mush. Total waste of money. Cmon either add noodles when it’s ordered or just make chicken soup and be done. Thank goodness I got a slice of pizza. That was. good. However I’m still hungry. Out $ 6 and soup in the garbage…

The place appears to be brand new inside and out. Everything is very clean. It has a casual feel that is suitable for all 3 meals. The pizza was delicious and of generous size and toppings. The staff is friendly. They offer nighty specials that are actually worth coming for. There is a bar downstairs, but the beer selection could be a lot better. The prices are reasonable and the selection of cuisine is varied. Note that their hours are geared towards breakfast and lunch, and brunch on Saturdays(they are closed on Sundays).

So happy they are here! Love the décor and the food is great too. I have been here at different times of the day and always receive friendly service. Self serve coffee is good. They also have espresso drinks which I’ll have to try soon. If your looking for a place that has good food, friendly service, nice décor and clean you have arrived. Thank you for being here River House!

We stopped in for a quick lunch and we’re happy to find a quick and delicious sandwich/salad place close to home. They have 27 sandwiches to choose from, plus about 10 salads. I had the California Cobb salad which was very fresh and had a great taste. I also had the chicken soup which I enjoyed. This is a great little café for a quick bite to eat. I will be back!

Drove up from Bridgeport for breakfast on Columbus Day. My father had pancakes and I had French Toast. Both were delicious, and portions were large. Staff was real nice, food was fresh. Restaurant has hardwood floors and casual environment, we will definitely be back.

Generous portions, and fair prices. My omelette was great; not at all greasy, with generous potions of veggies, and skillfully cooked so it was not a mess to eat. Some tasty home fries came on the side. The pancakes were ok– they came covered in powdered sugar, which I would have asked to have not happen if that was listed on the menu. Coffee was average, but with unlimited refills. Tea selection was limited to grocery store tea bags, which was sad. The server was friendly and attentive the whole visit. Lots of seating and open space, with very simple décor. A pair of TVs fill the visual and audio space.

Met Pete the owner today, nice guy! We love this place and wish it much success! We enjoy eating local rather than having to always drive to New Haven!
