The service was good, the food, mousaka was not so great, meat was grisley, no potato and bland flavor. Lamb souvlaki was good, fish filo was ok, salad was overpowered by onions and salt. May be better for a lunch time meal.

My Dad introduced me to this wonderful dining establishment. The food is exceptional. The owner is extremely friendly and walks around to check on his guests. My Dad asked him a few questions. One in particular was about how to cook one of the dishes. He explained it to my Dad. Another time, I was meeting my Dad there again for lunch and the owner remembered me, which is a great quality in a restaurant owner. The place is located in a strip mall. It is clean and modestly decorated. Outside seating is available during the warmer New England months. Enjoy a great meal made by the owner himself. You will be back. It’s my new favorite spot to meet my Dad for lunch.

This food is unbelievably good. You will actually not believe that the antipasto salad is all for you. Fair pricing for great portions. The take out option is great also.

Fantastic place for authentic Greek food. We bring family from CT and NY all the time. They love it as well. Nice quaint alfresco eating area for warm weather out front. The owner Peter is amazing and usually comes out to say hi.

All I can say is WOW! This is some of the best Greek food we’ve ever had. Get the pita bread, get the moussaka, get the souvlaki… GETEVERYTHING! Seriously, everything we had was home made and wonderful. We started with two chicken lemon soups, then ordered a third. I got a nice salad with my moussaka and it came with a piece of home made pita. Well after tasting it we ordered a plate of pita. Then we got a second plate. Delicious light spices and a wonderful slightly grilled texture. Then the mains came and all were outstanding. Deserts were top notch traditional Greek desserts served with a nice strong pressed coffee. What a great meal, service and atmosphere. They also have many of their desserts and dressings in the front display case to go. Awesome.

This place is always delicious. The salads are loaded with feta and olives. Tonight I tried the steak sandwich on pita and it was incredible. Great value!

I work in Derry at a salon down the street and the amount of times that majority of our staff orders from there is insane. They all love it and with good reason. They are consistent, the staff is great and the food is fresh and delicious. The lunch menu is great and portion sizes are as well. One night after work I didn’t feel like cooking so I called my boyfriend, at the time(who WAS vegan) and I told him I was going to get food here. He asked what he could eat and I told him I’d get him the veggie kabobs and he didn’t sound that thrilled but funny enough I brought it home and he was like«Wow, I was expected it to be just bland, soggy vegetables like most places.» They are also helpful when it comes to making food for people with allergies as well as vegans and vegetarians. Good addition to Derry!

Found this little gem when searching for restaurants near Derry — you will not be disappointed. The food was all delicious. Clean, small with some outdoor seating. Full menu. Service was prompt and friendly. Will definitely be back. The Galaktoboureko was to die for!!! Love the hummus with warm grilled pita bread. Everything was great. We will be back again soon! :)

Went there for the first time today — you will not be disappointed. Spolit a house salad, felafel, Gyro, and Spanikopita. Felafel was slightly underdone but the food was all delicious. Clean, small with some outdoor seating. Full menu. Service was prompt and friendly. Will definitely be back

I really love coming here. The place is clean and the service is good. I’ve had several meals on the menu and none of them have disappointed me. I recommend the lamb with a side dolmades and a slice of baclava cheesecake. Excellent.

I am a tough critic when it comes to Greek food. Its one of my favorite things to go out for, and I don’t get to have it often. So after multiple recommendations for Amphora, I finally decided to try it. I wasn’t disappointed. I went early for dinner on a weeknight and was seated right away. As someone who semi-regularly eats alone to use the time for work or catching up on reading, I am always appreciative when I am seated promptly without judgement about being alone. My waitress was quite friendly and attentive without rushing me. I got a wrap later in the week to go as well, and had an equally good experience. The food however was the shining star. I had the thracian chicken wrap with feta. It was good sized, reasonably priced, and UTTERLYDELICIOUS. The tzatziki was fresh, garlicky, and the stuff that dreams are made of. The pita was perfectly warm and chewy, and not too bready. The chicken itself had great, spiced flavor. There was also plenty of it. This is my new go-to lunch place as someone who works in Derry. I’ve already recommended it to multiple folks this week. Looking forward to trying more of their delicious offerings. Run, do not walk to Amphora when in Derry at meal times.

Went for lunch the other day after hearing really good reviews from friends and I was not disappointed. The service was very attentive and quick. The food was really delicious. We got tzatziki for an app and it was very good, the grilled pita were nicely spiced, but a little limp. I got the Thracian chicken lunch and the chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The salad that accompanied it was a generous portion and the dressing, oh my god the dressing. I’d drink that dressing from the bottle, which they also conveniently sell. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My girlfriend treated me to my birthday lunch here today and it was so good that I had to write this review as soon as we got back. It’s a small place but they have enough seating for maybe 20 – 25 people. Outdoor seating too. I got their iced green tea(I’m not sure if it’s brewed on premises or brought in from a company but it was so good and fresh!), and we split the Tzatziki and pita as an appy, and then for our entrees I got the vegetarian gyro and my friend got a steak/meat gyro with a side of fries. Oh. My. God. The tzatziki was perfectly balanced with garlic, lemon, and cucumber and was soooo ahhhhmazing. The fresh pita they serve with it is out of this world. Our gyros were super good and HUGE! The star of the meal were the fries, as silly as they sound. They were ridiculously crunchy on the outside but perfectly soft/tender on the inside. They are seasoned so well and have the teensy-tiniest bit of a kick to them. Our waitress was so sweet and very attentive. We were in and out within the hour during a busy lunch rush. They had delicious dessert options but we were too stuffed to eat anything else. Prices are very reasonable for the portions of food you get. We will be adding this to our go-to lunch place list!

This little Greek restaurant deserves its almost five-star rating from Unilocalers. I hadn’t been here for over a year and I stopped in recently to see if anything had changed. Thankfully, it hadn’t. The service and the food stands out and as with previous visits, the owner(I think it was him) stopped over to see if my meal had gone well. I ordered Greek chicken with rice along with sine spanakopita. The latter arrived piping hot from the oven and not a microwave. The chicken breast was seasoned well and was moist throughout. The salad was a little too heavily dressed but that was my only minor issue with my meal. I took some baklava cheesecake to go which was great. It’s nice to see this fairly new restaurant still going strong. They know what they are doing.

Simply put we had a wonderful experience at Amphora. We were greeted warmly by the owner upon our arrival, seated promptly and had great service all evening. The calamari and spanakopita were so good we decided to just sit back and relax and order a few more apps. The fried feta and the tzatziki were also excellent. For our main courses we had Mousaka the Psari-Sto-Filo and a gyro platter. All were outstanding. The beer selection featured some good local micros. The restaurant has a warm and friendly vibe. We will defiantly be back!!!
