I used to be a regular patient at Women’s Health Associates of Derry. My doctor was Katrina Wayman for gynecologic care, and she was really nice. When I went there, she always saw me right away, compared to other doctors offices where you’re waiting in the exam room for a while until your doctor actually comes in. She also seemed nice and always took the time to answer any questions I had. But one thing that bothered me a lot was how they would reschedule me for almost every appointment I made, because she was also a midwife. Being a midwife, being rescheduled is reasonable; things come up and she’s suddenly needed. But when they would reschedule me, it wouldn’t be for another month or so. When they had to reschedule me, I don’t know why they couldn’t try to reschedule me closer to my original appointment, or maybe offer to put me with another doctor for the next appointment if she was too busy. After doing that for a few years, I decided to no longer be a patient because of how often I got rescheduled. Once they even called to cancel my appointment when I was only a few minutes away. It was worse for me because I didn’t live around the area, so it was also a significant commute. I specifically saw this doctor because I liked her and the staff when I used to live around the area. But I decided the hassle wasn’t worth it. If you don’t mind getting rescheduled, or if you live around the area, it might not be as bad if your appointment gets canceled. I don’t know the other doctors there, but having a different doctor might also give you a better experience.
