+ five stars for the meat; — two stars for the cost. $ 12 for a Brisket sandwich? $ 10 for pulled chicken? And the coleslaw was shredded cabbage without any dressing; Pointless for $ 3. Nice people, the décor of the place is meh.

I can’t even describe how bad this was. As much fat as meat. Odd flavor that was lackluster. Even with a groupon I felt cheated.

Definitely not in Derwood. It’s not difficult to find just off of 355 not far from the Shady Grove Metro stop. Small unattractive location shared with another restaurant. Menu on a board– prices higher than listed on their website. Using a Groupon coupon, we got 1 each pulled pork and beef brisket. Plates so small they just held the dry, uninteresting bun. The Memphis sauce not memorable, having a strange taste, but couldn’t figure the flavor. Asked for coleslaw(included in the price) on the side. The portion was so small, at first I didn’t see it! New York style, I doubt. No taste and the unappetizing color of browning apples. Groupon valued at $ 20– the two sandwiches cost an additional $ 4.25! A $ 24 value– definitely over priced! Came home wanted to eat the rest of «dinner». Nothing inviting about this place. Napkins so flimsy, I must have used 7 – 8! Person who took our order was very unfriendly. Maybe they should stick with their DC food trucks.

This is a difficult review to write. I’m not exactly sure what this place is. My gut feeling is that the carnivore bbq food truck supplies them with meat but that there’s not a lot of quality control going on. We went here because we had a voucher and had seen the truck downtown. As others have mentioned it’s a bit of a challenge to find. Basically turn in directly behind the 7 – 11 gas station. It’s really more of a take out spot than a restaurant although they do have a few tables for you to eat in. The staff was courteous and friendly bit I’m not sure if this place isn’t doing more harm than good for the carnivore bbq«brand». I had the 3 meat colossus which turned out to ok sized but certainly not colossal, especially for the price. It also turned out to be mostly chicken. The were a couple scraps of brisket, some pork and a lot of chicken. The pork had decent flavor but only the chicken tasted remotely fresh. But probably the biggest issue was the pricing. If the food was hot, fresh, and downtown the prices would be closer to acceptable but given the location and other issues it just comes off as pretty over priced. Maybe it was the the timing but I’d steer clear for now.

I loved carnivore bbq from the moment I stumbled upon one of their beloved food trucks in DC. So when I found out that they had a storefront in Rockville, I knew I had to form the union of their amazing pulled pork sandwiches with my taste buds. Mike and I ordered the beef brisket sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich. I had all three sauces including their homemade habanero hot sauce on my brisket. Michael went with the Memphis and mustard sauces. We also ordered all three sides, obviously. to be noted, this place shares the same store as sam’s subs and pizzas. Beef brisket — very delicious, not super fatty as other Unilocalers have reported. Pulled pork — as yummy as I remembered it. Today was extra smoky in flavor which turned Mike off a little bit. But I love smokiness so it was great to me! Habanero hot sauce — I’m happy to report that they tone down the spiciness in the sauce here the first time I had this habanero hot sauce on my pulled pork, I was crying for at least three hours after eating. Memphis — still my favorite sweet & tangy bbq sauce Mustard — I could do without bc I’ve never been a huge fan of mustard BBQ beans — one of the best beans I’ve ever had. They have huge chunks of bacon in it and a great smoky flavor Mac and Cheese — delicious, but served at room temperature. wish it was a little hotter. Coleslaw — not a huge fan of this variation, a bit too sour for my liking. Tips: you can try all three sides for $ 5 or a combined two sides for $ 4. They have all types of soft drinks, beer served at this location. Accepts credit cards. Storefront faces Redlands but parking is in alley behind 7 – 11. PS — I also passed this place twice before finding it. Did not blame lack of direction on the business since I was staring at my GPS rather than paying attention to the 10 carnivore bbq food trucks parked outside. Signage could be improved but so could all our vision if we weren’t glued to our smartphones all the time.

Great people, great food! We absolutely loved everything. So there are two places in one? Who cares as long as it’s wonderful, right? We were taken care of as if we were top priority and chatted with management like we were old friends. A really great find!

I have no clue where to start. The place is freaking impossible to find due to the fact that this business is in the same place as Sam’s pizza and subs. Like literally, I walked past this place about 3 times before finding out that there were two businesses in one. I am here to review the BBQ side of this business(Seriously? Pizza joint and BBQ in the same place? Yikes, this sounds like a kitchen nightmare) If you are expecting to walk in and order BBQ ribs, you clearly have too much common sense and need to get out while you still can. The first thing you see when you walk in is a big menu that lists that they sell ribs by the pound but according to the owner, «It is for people who order ahead or are doing catering». You maybe asking, «Where is the real menu then Alex?» To that I say, it’s the small abysmal black menu in the corner of the store with what is essentially 4 items. They sell Mac and cheese, BBQ pulled pork, BBQ pulled chicken and bbq brisket sandwiches and then a combination of meats in one sandwich. They were out of mac and cheese so literally the only thing I could get at the time were sandwiches. So, now that I got all that out of the way, let’s get to the food… All sandwiches are served with«New York Style» coleslaw. If that coleslaw was a representation of anything in New York, it would be it’s sewage system. Sandwiches came out with cold/stale bread, meat was dry and BBQ sauce was scarce. Overall, avoid this place like the plague.
