Nothing worse than a stylist that doesn’t listen to what you want. When I say«I’m trying to grow it out» somehow that meant take two inches of the top and cut my hair like a Hitler youth. Thanks for ruining months of growth in 10 minutes.

I am 44 years old and Jenay only the 3rd stylist in my life that understood my hair. I have wavy hair that just looks frizzy and weighed down when it’s overgrown. I wait so long between cuts(because I have such an awful experience) that stylists often do not believe that I have wave in my hair, sigh. Luckily, Jenay was not like this at all. Once I said I like my waves she cut and styled it so they were highlighted. I have rarely seen my waves so prominent, it was awesome! I just changed my profile photo to how my waves looked after this cut and style. I am definitely going back. The salon is easy to find, prices are reasonable(I just moved from San Francisco so that it actually seems really affordable to me at the moment) and they do a huge discount if you are a new client and mention the new client discount(see their website for more info on that). It looks like they also have salon services, and I look forward to checking those out once the sting of moving cross country has worn off. In short, go here, you will be so happy you did.

I love Axis Salon. The service and ambiance here just rocks. Have always gotten great cuts and color here… I feel relaxed as soon as I walk in the door. I have very fine hair and the average stylist usually doesn’t know how to make it work, but at AXIS, they do a fantastic job with fine hair, so if you have that problem, this is the place to go. They have a lot of different services to offer. Next time I might schedule a massage before my hair appointment for the ultimate experience.

Okay Ladies,(and Gents) I may have found the best kept secret of Des Moines! Axis Hair Salon!( ) First off, before I rave about my experience, we need to discuss the outside of the building!(this was our first time visiting the salon) When my gps said«you have arrived at your destination», I looked at my daughter and we both thought the same thing, «do we just drive away?»… Well, we decided that we didn’t want to judge by looks alone, so we walked inside the salon and we were blown away! It’s very spacious and open. Secondly, the Salon is pretty laid back and«groovy» feeling! The stylists, as well as the products they sell are all natural. Organic based… When I said something to the stylist who was doing our hair, she laughed and said, «yeah, we’re pretty much hippies here». I had to giggle at what she said, it was cute.(she’s 23, but listening to her passion about harsh chemicals and what it’s causing, made me think she was actually from the 1960’s!) Lastly, I did look online at the cost for services. It showed that it was moderately expensive. I should have paid closer attention to this important detail(make sure you bring your«splurge» card!!) Services: I didn’t really need much done today, except for an overall darker color. She had to mix up 2 batches due to my thick hair! Here’s my breakdown with prices: Single Process Color: $ 52 additional color cost: $ 25 Haircut: $ 29 Shampoo & Style: $ 25 My daughter had her eyebrows done, her hair bleached, and then colored. She purchased 3 products, and her total was over $ 250. (it shows that they do offer a discount, but I forgot to mention it — & so did the stylist) Nearing The End: As I draw near the end of this review, I want to say Thank you to Jasmine! She stayed very nice and was genuinely concerned about our overall happiness! Our appointment was at 9AM, and after all the hair drama and my body pains that I was experiencing, we didn’t get out of there until 3:15PM! Jasmine, thank you again for the excellent job you did with my overall hair color! I love it! Again folks, don’t judge a book by its cover! There could very well be a diamond in the rough!!! P. S. explanation of stars: 02 Stars: outer exterior 03 Stars: parking — & entering from the back 04 Stars: $$$ expensive(but worth the splurge) 05 Stars: open floor plan, clean, and overall relaxation

Just moved from omaha and needed to find a new stylist. It seems I have found it the first one. Bought a groupon thinking I will shop around. Lana did an amazing job and I will be a returning customer:) Did a cut and highlights. I have colored hair so she knew exactly what to do.

Went in this morning for a cut & highlights, and am VERY happy with the results! Natisha knows what she’s doing — I would recommend her to anyone looking for a stylist!

I went here bc I had purchase a groupon for this place. I love it! Lana was very nice and knew what I wanted. I really don’t like cutting my hair and she made sure to trim to what I had specified. She was very informative about hair products plus they had a buy 2 get one free sale, just had to get them. I love the color and the cut. Plus she gave me some places to check out In Des Moines since we just moved here. Definitely found my hair salon!

Bought a groupon to get manicure and pedicure for half off. The salon is nice and newly remodeled but the manicure and pedicure was horrible. I felt like it was done by a child. The color was uneven and the polish was scattered on my finger not the nail part. Not to mention the brush strokes were uneven also. It was horrible that I removed the Polish as soon as I got home. Totally not worth it even with the groupon. I didn’t catch the name of the manicurist. All I know is that she was Latina and she came from california.
