Econo Lodge Inn & Suites

This is a great Hotel after going to the lumberyard. I took my wife here it was great everything about it.

Family owned Econo Lodge (really nice folks) that has good rooms (kinda average) and plenty of parking. The room was a bit dated, yet I didn’t expect it to be like a Hilton or Marriott. The bed was clean and comfortable, WiFi signal was good, and my second floor room was quiet. The rate was $ 65 after taxes. The parking situation is quite impressive. You can fit a few 18-​wheelers in the back and still have plenty of parking for guests.
I felt comfortable staying at this location after getting on the road late from Minneapolis and traveling south. The Econo Lodge is located in close proximity to the interstate as well as plenty of other restaurants in the Urbandale area. While there are other hotel/​motel choices down the road, I felt comfortable here.
There is breakfast in the morning, and it isn’t bad. Waffle, toast and sausage choices, mainly. If I had a complaint, it would be of the coffee (a bit weak). Other than that, I would consider staying here again if traveling.

We received information and a confirmation email stating this hotel had a pool. Arrive after driving from Chicago and find out there is not a pool. The hotel is NOT very nice. Small bathrooms with very small bathrooms. We complained because we were told it had a pool and were refunded. For a full $ 20 more we went down the road to the Ramada Tropics which has AMAZING rooms, several pools, water slides, a pirate ship, nice restaurant, bar, arcade, etc. Definitely worth the little bit of extra money. We walked in and it was a world of a difference. Clean, big, very well maintained. Super impressive.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! It is filthy. The halls smell like cat urine and our room smelled like ammonia from dog urine.
I can’t believe I stayed here. Only stayed here because on a road trip and needed to stop and nothing else available.

A decently priced, clean, comfortable room with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Nothing special, but not bad.
