I’ve been to Findlay’s many times. I like to order their family meal. It comes with ribs, coleslaw(we get the yummy potato salad instead), 4 pieces of corn bread with butter, and the best baked beans I’ve ever ate. In fact I didn’t like baked beans before I tasted theirs. They are sweet and contain generous amounts of pulled pork. The family meal feeds my family of three with leftovers. It’s a very casual, order at the counter kind of place. I’ve only ever seen the owner at the counter. I think his wife runs the kitchen.

I drove around for quite a while looking for something unique. Findlay’s is an understated gray building that doesn’t seem busy, but they do know their meat. They make their own beef jerky as well as their pulled pork, smoked chicken and ribs. I went in by myself and ordered a whole rack of ribs. The cost was about the same as half a rack of ribs at Applebee’s, and much tastier by a long stretch. While Findlay’s atmosphere isn’t romantic or date night worthy, it’s a nice, no-frills place to eat with family and friends. Service couldn’t have been better.
