We had thanksgiving dinner for 4 ordered. The dinner was not enough for 4people. took the time to cook it, It was the worst dinner I’ve ever had!!! We ended up having to eat at village inn… Such a waste of money and time, and made me very sad!

This particular Hy-Vee fills the needs of the locals, but it is by far NOT my first choice in Des Moines when it comes to choosing a Hy-Vee to shop at. The store is dated, but has the most recent signage package look(as of February 2015). The selection of merchandise is more than fair, but I’d sooner shop at the Fleur Drive or the soon to be completely renovated from top to bottom SE14th& Park Avenue Hy-Vee. The biggest turnoff at this store is the overwhelming smell of can redemption at the front of the store. It’s not just in the vestibule(as the can redemption center is next to the South entrance), it’s at the front lanes and customer service as well. Very gross. Bottom line: This store has been here since the beginning of Southridge Mall, which was the late 70’s. It’s time for a new store. It’s an important piece of the mall, but I’m confident if they build a brand new store on the mall property, it will flourish!

This Hy-Vee is just as great as the other ones in the state. I am usually buying my groceries from a Hy-Vee if I’m not close to a Walmart. Even after hours you can stop by here and grab their premade food and just heat it up. Hy-Vee is very community oriented and has their store be accommodating to everyone. Their staff members are always friendly and willing to help. The stores are kept clean and well stocked with the latest products
