Islas del Pacifico Mex Rest and Seafood

This place is great! It’s a hidden gem in Des Moines; I’d driven past it a thousand times and never noticed it until I was running to the Mexican market next door. They have an extensive menu which is mostly seafood at very reasonable prices. They also have very inexpensive lunch and dinner specials daily, and bring complimentary chips, two kinds of salsa AND ceviche to the table! They have a decent bottled beer selection, a full bar and great margaritas. I am currently staring at a giant plate of crab legs, mussels, oysters, shrimp, scallops and octopus, and I got the small order! All this deliciousness? $ 17! It is a fairly large restaurant with an open layout and 18 tables, plus 4 seats at the bar. Well worth checking out!

Islas Del Pacifico is delicious. To start, you get shrimp ceviche with your chips for free!!! What other restaurant does that?! I am a huge fan. The food is great, the service is fast, and my roommate and I love it already.
The mussels are a must have. I don’t know what is in that sauce, but I am drinking it off my plate. So so good. I highly recommend them. It’s a little known Mexican restaurant with some fantastic food. Do give it a try!
