2.5 for this one! The service is friendly but everytime I go to this Taco johns, which is probably around once a year for an olé craving, my order is wrong. I decided to get a taco bravo with no cheese because I’m allergic. I stated to the drive thru attendant that I was allergic. He was very personable at the window and handed me my taco. I totally forgot it was taco Tuesday and should have ordered the 60cent hard shell tacos. I took one bite into my taco bravo and it was caked with cheese. I went inside and they made a new one and gave me coupons for my next visit. I just really don’t see me going back to this taco johns location because this is the 5th time my order has been wrong when I ordered it correctly. I appreciate they made it right but maybe this review will help the management with training on orders. My receipt stated no cheese and no ranch but it was still made with cheese.

I visited this store on Friday night at 11:30pm. I was overcharged. When I brought it to their attention I was told that’s what things cost. Then after 5 employees had a huddle to talk about me complaining about the price I was charged the same employee came back to window and said what did you order. I repeated myself again. She said yep we overcharged you. Now 11 minutes into this whole process yet another person gets involved and says he is the store manager. He asked what was wrong. So I explained again. Then another employee starts talking about me complaining and when I called it out she went to hide in the back room. So after arguing with the staff the guy who said he was the store manager(which was a misrepresentation because he is not the store manager after talking to the corporate office) tells me he is refusing my business and to leave. I left and I will never be visiting a Taco Johns again. Your prices are too high to have incompetent staff members. If you raise your price you should raise the level of training you provide your staff.

I have to concur with the other reviewer. I agree Taco Johns is a better version of Taco Bell. Growing up in the midwest, this is one of my favorite stops when I come back to visit. More for nostalgia than anything else. My only disappointment is that they do not have 1000 Island dressing for the taco salads anymore. Odd combination I know but try it and you will be surprised.

All Taco Johns taste the same to me and provide the same service. I have not had Taco Johns until I came to Iowa. They, to me, are a better version of Taco Bell. Their food is a lot more flavorful and fulfilling. They also have potato oles which are very well seasoned hash brown pieces. They are also usually cleaner and well-operated compared to Taco Bell. If I am in a mood for fast food taco/burritos, I will come here.
