Are you hankering for a sweet treat?
I found this sweet tooth pleasure a few years back as a stand at the farmers market. They had cute little bags and happen to have the same name as my Grandma. So of course they were happy to take pictures for us by their stand and get some ice cream treats.
I do enjoy the ice cream sandwiches, YUM.
It gets better. One day at work we were treated to some of their cookies.
Get this: The cookies come warm (out of the oven warm!) No kidding they delivered these across town and they were delicious homemade cookies!
Give them a try!

I just had a fresh, warm cookie delivered from Thelma’s. It was for a co-worker’s birthday, but I was able to reap the benefits. Everything is hyperbole these days, but this is literally the best idea ever. And the cookies were good too.
Also, if you ever have a chance to have their ice cream sandwiches, take it. The cayenne chocolate chip version is responsible for no less than 5 lbs. of my current body weight.

5 stars for GREAT customer service. My boyfriend and I placed a last minute order of 2 dozen warm cookies to some friends going through a difficult loss. We ordered on ²⁄₁₁ and needed the cookies to be delivered on ²⁄₁₂ (aka during Valentine’s Day chaos). Not only did the cookies need to be delivered on Valentine’s Day weekend, with short notice, but we also needed them there before a certain time. Thelma’s kindly worked with us to make the delivery and never made us feel like a hassle! :)

The whole concept is very cool and the ice cream sandwiches are really good! The only problem I have is that they are almost always too hard to eat. I always have to let the sandwich sit out for a while before I can eat it so that it is less frozen. I want to try their plain cookies sometime because I bet they are delicious.

Amazing ice cream sandwiches!!! Staff is great! The coffee and sugar cookie ice cream sandwich is to die for as is the chocolate chocolate chip cookie with chocolate ice cream. So rich and delicious. Totally worth the visit!!!
It’s next to Mars Café and in the new RayGun building.
Parking is a little difficult during peak times but that is the case for most downtown stores.

Quite simply, Thelma’s rules. It’s difficult to find a better cookie, especially when they are warm, fresh, and melting in your mouth.
All-​time favorite = peanut butter cookies+chocolate ice cream sandwich. I have probably had too many of those. Actually, there’s no such thing as too many of those.
Thelma’s definitely requires a stop if you’re in the area.

How many local places deliver cookies! I know one that does, and they even come in a really cool little oven, so you get them fresh and hot right out of the oven!
If Ice Cream sandwiches are more your game, Thelma’s has got you covered there as well!
They don’t skimp on the Ice Cream, and I think it so cool you can find these local faves all over town in coffee shops or grocery stores!
Perfect sweets for a wedding reception or that boring business meeting you have to provide food for! Everyone loves cookies!

I don’t live in state and wanted to send my dad something special for his birthday. I called to have a delivery made and it was so easy! The woman I spoke with was incredibly nice and very accommodating. My dad said when he received the ice cream sandwiches that they were delicious! My only complaint would be that I wasn’t there to share them with him. Thanks so much!

Enjoyed a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich tonight at the Knoxville Raceway. It was one of the best treats I’ve had in a while! Thanks for bringing them to the races!

This has got to be the smartest idea for a business ever. Milk and cookies, delivered in a cute little oven-​shaped box? Come on, that’s brilliant marketing. And the cookies are great too! Every time I have been lucky enough to be on the receiving end of a Thelma’s delivery, I’ve been absolutely delighted. I’ve only tried chocolate chip so far, but snickerdoodle is on my hit list for the near future.
Thelma’s also sells ice cream sandwiches. These sandwiches are seemingly EVERYWHERE in Des Moines lately so it’s quite easy to find them — you can find them in their very own freezer at Gateway Market, at the farmer’s market, you can even buy them at intermission at the Des Moines Playhouse.
As for the ice cream sandwiches, I’ve tried peanut butter banana and the cayenne chocolate chip. I have to say, peanut butter banana would be vastly improved by dipping them in chocolate! How about it, Thelma?

Great cookies and ice cream sandwiches. They are a cookie delivery company, the store front is for pickup only. However, they do sell ice cream sandwiches, definitely stop in and try one if you want a quick snack.
They are gourmet cookies, so pricing is a little higher but well worth it.
