I must have been to a different restaurant based on all the positive reviews. The lady working the counter was pleasant enough and didn’t charge me for fries for some reason. Unfortunately, that’s where the praise stops. The fries, which are advertised as hand cut were obviously not. These are straight out of a Sysco catalog. Uniform in size, had the trademark spots that show they were frozen and no seasoning whatsoever. The burger patty was dry, unseasoned, and the bun was dry as well, having not been griddled long enough. Quite a bit of seating are high tops with stools without backs. I understand I’m in an airport but other Unilocalers made it sound like this was a decent option, especially in an airport with limited choices. This is not the case. Buy some Chex Mix on the plane. Or starve. Both are better options then ordering food here.

Great sweet potato fries. The burger was good, but the patty was a little dry. Slightly overpriced, but normal for an airport.

Service was so so. We ordered a burger and fries combo. The sweet potato fries were good, but the party in the burger was a bit dry. The lettuce wasn’t dried enough and made the sauce too runny, and messy. Ok for airport food.

Although the food I ordered was very good, the service was far from. After ordering food, I did not receive my change(which should have been $ 3) and had forgot to ask because I was running late to my flight. The lady behind the counter with red hair and piercings never mentioned it, and deflected my presence during my wait for food. I feel like I was duped and deceived and it’s an awful feeling. It isn’t about the money, just the general principal of kindness and fairness.

I’ve been here twice and enjoyed it both times. Great, friendly service. Good burger with toasted buns and choice of toppings. Also sweet potato fries. They’re pretty fast(5 – 10 minutes) as well. They have a good variety of drinks including beer.

Ha, who are people to believe now days? Is more information good when it’s contrived and pretty much BS. NOT. Three straight positive reviews by Unilocal elite posters trying to qualify for paid regional Unilocal parties. SPP food conglomerate is behind this fast food experience ironically named«True Burger» serving up a precooked burger patty delivered onsite boxed and frozen then reheated. Also, be prepared for your typical frozen fries boldly advertised as «handcut.» Taste buds beware.

What do people do when their flight got delayed? Get a beer. Or a beer and a burger. Went there last week. I had a classic burger and fries. It was better I imagined. The fries was fresh and hot. The burger was very good. The patty was a lot smaller than the buns, but for 7 dollars, this is a great deal.

Pretty decent burger place in the Des Moines airport! Great burgers with tons of ways to customize at no additional charge, yummy french fries, and ice cold craft beer on tap! Those three things make for a great combination when you’re waiting around at the airport. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff member who took my order was friendly and recommended a few of his favorite things. Also, the prices really can’t be beat! A burger, fries and a beer for around $ 12? Yes please!

Flying for business and it’s dinner time, not a lot of good choices but I am a meat and potatoes guy and this place looks nice. Simple menu as your choice is a Burger or Hot Dog. First bite and I wasn’t saying to myself«damn this is a good burger». It just didn’t wow me, is it good you ask? sure but just average. The fries are advertised as hand cut and they didn’t look it. For an airport it’s better than chain burgers. I hope I don’t get heartburn on the plane?!

I didn’t know what I was in for when looking for food options in the Des Moines National Airport, but then I found this marvelous place. At even a first glance, even the sign invited me into the savory place that True Burger Co. The menu is kind of small, but it makes up for it with its mouthwatering flavors and scents. If you live in Iowa, and are a fan of a nice, friendly environment, True Burger Co. is your place to go to.

Great burger and for a reasonable price! That’s surprising for the airport! I actually sometimes wish I could have this burger without having to be at the airport. I have eaten here multiple times and will continue to do so! Their menu is simple and the burger is customizable which is a plus. You choose the type of burger you want, then the toppings inside and the sauces. I posted the menu so you get the idea. Their staff members are always extremely friendly and patient as you are ordering. You don’t want to miss this when flying out of Des Moines International Airport!

Surprisingly good burger. Did not expect that in an airport, much less a small airport like Des Moines. Sweet potato fries were also very good. In the otside world, this is probably 3&½ stars, but for airport food, a solid 4. Price was very reasonable.

Airport food = over priced and weak quality, but this was a nice surprise. Decent burger and fries for about $ 8. Liked the 50⁄50 option on the fries. They have one draft beer selection, but no one seemed to care that I went next door and got a draft from there.

Tried their mixed fries. Liked the sweet potato fries. But in a small airport like Des Moines, the quality of their food is acceptable and price was cheap!

I try to make allowances for airport food, but I have to say that this was a pretty good burger. I always like the«build your own» option, and the woman working the counter when I went in was quite friendly and helpful when I asked what was in some of their special sauces. I will say that the«50÷50» fries are a nice idea in theory, but the portion is small enough that I wished I’d just gone with sweet potato or regular, and not tried to do both, but that’s about all I can say. I even appreciated that when I ordered an extra bottle of water to take with me on my flight, the woman working the register told me to just grab one out of the cooler when I left, rather than letting it get warm. Very nice of them. About the only trick I think they missed is that they don’t offer any kind of desserts other than some pre-made cookies or clif bars. A milkshake would have finished off the meal I got quite nicely.

This was a kickass burger! $ 6 for a classic patty, sweet potato fries, and all the toppings and sauces I wanted. Fresh jalapenos, sauteed mushrooms that still retained their character, grilled onions and their ‘true’ sauce. So good and the burger was still able to stand on its own. It’s rare(for me) to find those burgers. The sweet potato fries were equally great. I’m debating whether or not to get a separate order for the flight. Such gluttony.

As someone who spends a lot of time in airports these days, I see a lot of these upscale burger bars. Every airport seems to have one, and this seemed like a good spot to spend some time in DesMoines while waiting for my flight. I have to say though, that so far, NONE of these airport burger bars have truly great hamburgers(at least not the ones that I have visited) and this was no exception. It was a fine burger, perhaps better food than you usually find at an airport, but not fabulous. Not quite as good as Fuddruckers, for example. I had a bacon/mushroom/cheddar burger, and I liked it, but I didn’t love it. As the previous reviewer indicated, you order at the counter, and they bring you your food, so not real table service. Points, however, for letting us hang out after eating.

This is a newer place in the Des Moines Airport. First, it looks like your typical upscale burger joint, nice, large open format. You pay at the counter, they bring to your table. I like that. Makes it feel less fast foodish. now, to the ratings… subtract 1 star for service. People were nice enough, but were distracted by stuff going on behind the counter(other employees). Messed up my order. I ordered the signature true burger, but got a turkey burger instead. Being close to departure time, i decided that I would just go with it. And I wasn’t disappointed. Maybe one of the better turkey burgers I had ever had. subtract 1 star for cleanliness. The place is brand new, so it looks nice, but looked a little unkempt. dining area needed a good wipe down and floor sweeping. Minor nits, but hey, its a review. Overall, food was good. not too pricey, good experience. I will stop in next time i am through the airport. there is not a lot to choose from, in an airport, in Des Moines…
