Alexander Coin & Pawn

I went there looking to purchase a ring or necklace. I was told they «no longer» deal with jewelry. I was not expecting much … but this place looked like a bad garage sale. I felt so uncomfortable that I did not want to «look around» (not that there was much to look at).

Alexander’s Coin & Pawn is like going to a little neighborhood store! I have been here many times, sent my friends and we all love it! Fantastic Prices, like going on a treasure hunt, I always find so many interesting items! Not a fancy place like on TV, but great prices ! If you run a little short on cash, they buy your treasures or you can Pawn them! I always know they give me the best price! Try them, tell them Ruthe sent you! You will love them! Post if you see something cute!

OK, so I am not a fan of pawn shops in general, as they have a pretty bad rep. But I have to say, I was actually pleasantly surprised with my experience at Alexander’s. To make a long story short, I had some coins I was looking to sell. Went to a couple of shops that say that «pay top dollar for coins.» Neither offered me much at all. So, just for the heck of it, stopped by Alexander’s, since it’s not far from me. The big guy at the counter was surprisingly pleasant to deal with (looks pretty mean, plus — it’s a pawn shop, so I didn’t expect it). He actually knew what he was talking about when he checked my coins (I did my own research before starting on my quest). As the result of my visit — he bought them all, and I walked out with more than either shop had offered me (even made up for wasting guess to go to the other places). So, have to say, the experience was a very pleasant surprise, and I definitely recommend giving seeing them if the need arises.

I love this shop and visit quite often. Gentlemen in the office are always friendly, and I never have to wait long before I am helped. They need a lady to clean the office :) but this review is not on their office, it’s on service and merchandise :)

As far as real life pawn shops go (I don’t buy into the «reality» of tv shows) Alexander’s is about as good as it gets. Honest, pays more to buy gold or silver than the little shops popping up all over. They are not rude like many shops. The guys I usually see there are friendly and helpful, always explain what you need to know and are very easy to work with. NEEDING a quick loan is never a pleasure but whether buying or selling or getting a loan, it’s been a good experience.
