Ken was a WONDERFUL choice for our wedding. We have been to enough weddings where the food, while clearly expensive, was downright inedible. Since we both love to cook and eat, that really wasn’t an option for us. We ended up with a menu that was totally customized to us and really the best catered food I have ever had. The value was also excellent as well. It was significantly less expensive than almost any other caterer we spoke to, especially for the quality and variety of food.
Our menu included lamb lollipops, boursin and spinach stuffed mushrooms, mini quiches and crab cakes. For dinner we had a salad with baby greens, maytag blue cheese and a citrus vinaigrette, then grilled skirt steak with chimichurri, roasted potatoes, pasta with cilantro-​tomato sauce, grilled asparagus and baked mac & cheese. It was really good, the steaks were all prepared medium rare as requested and even though it was Ken’s first time making chimichurri it turned out wonderfully.
His staff was well trained and very helpful. We never waited for water or a drink and the bar never got backed up. Every detail we asked for was handled. I would definitely recommend Something’s Cooking Catering to anyone planning a wedding in the Chicagoland area.
