We have a nice gas log set that isn’t that old but the parts on these things seem to go bad regularly. I had dealt with a previous contractor on past issues but never felt that confident in him so I searched for a new repair company. There are not a lot of gas fireplace repair companies in SD so Andy is really busy. He came out a couple of weeks ago and there was a clog in the gasline so he repaired. It was fixed but only for a few days. Called them back and even though there wasn’t technically an appointment available until 29 December, Andy squeezed us in yesterday, Christmas eve. This time the clog was even bigger so he repaired it but made the pilot bigger so hopefully this won’t continue to be a problem. It’s working great now and as he guarantees his work there was no charge the 2nd visit. What was most impressive was him coming out on Christmas eve and happily fixing the problem.

After dealing with the fireplace shop in San Marcos pretty unsuccessfully(they installed the doors crooked), I called Andy to re-install fireplace doors for me. On time, friendly, fairly priced. Would call Andy again, without hesitation!

Great Company! We hired Andy’s Fireplaces to clean both our Wood Burning Stove & Traditional fireplace. Office staff is very helpful and quick to return phone calls. Justin came out and did a great job cleaning our Stove. Then Andy himself came out to clean the Fireplace. Very professional company!

I don’t get it. I initially spoke with Andy on the phone, and we arranged to meet at my condo downtown. I thought it was impressive that Andy would venture this far from Descanso to take a look at my fireplace situation in downtown San Diego. Andy did call me a little before we were to meet to say that he was running late. Okay… I appreciate the phone call. Andy arrived as he said he would. Andy is courteous, professional, and, as best that I can determine, a qualified fireplace contractor. I explained to Andy what it was I wanted him to do. He sized up my situation and told me that he would get a proposal to me by Monday morning at the latest.(currently Thursday) Okay… that’s reasonable. Well, Monday came and went… no proposal. By the following Wednesday I email him to basically ask him if he is still interested… and, if not, to let me know. I get a call back a few days later and he is saying yes, he wants to do the job. He promised me a proposal by that night… the next morning at the latest. I haven’t heard hide nor hair of him since.(???) All it would have taken is a simple text. «I can’t do the work. Thanks.» But to leave people hanging… well, probably not the best business plan.
